@Rosetta I keep having the feeling of dying ,all my grown kids came over today and I couldn’t help feeling like something going to happen to me and they will be recalling how they were just hanging out with me , I keeping feeling and seeing different scenarios like that off and on all day and evening , I haven’t felt this way in weeks.... 😞 I need to just know that is withdraw... I hope I sleep well tonight and don’t wake up feeling like that in the middle of the night

It is withdrawal.  I had it, too.  Other people do, as well, but it’s a rare symptom overall.  So bizarre.

Oh sweet @Phoenixmama

So sorry to hear you are feeling so bad. Yes I know it’s a lonely journey, and not a lot of people get it. You are not going to “loose “ it, these are only thoughts based on fear.

I find distractions to be good when I struggle and visualise myself in a good place.

Our thoughts are so powerful, don’t follow those negative thoughts if you can.

We are here right with you in spirit and all of us do understand. It will get better. It’s ok to cry, in fact I find it to be a welcome relief these days. Those are natural human feelings. Don’t beat yourself up, you are doing the best you can.

That’s sounds awesome.
Keep your head up high, if you can beat this, you will survive anything🙏
I will be rooting for you on the side line.

Came home from work and my body feels so tired , I usually lay down and try to take a nap after work and I just did like an hour in a half nap , woke up still yawning and really tired still , is this normal ? Makes me even more scared and fear somethings wrong with me like my body is shutting down... I slept well last night 7 hours like normally... I’m not use to this tiredness I’m usually anxious... I haven’t been able to take a nap in the middle of the day in months... I hope I don’t sound crazy when I keep reporting my new symptoms

Dear @Phoenixmama, I have the head pressure and brain pressure almost daily, this is just WD, there is nothing physically wrong with us. Please trust this, it will soon pass. It feels awful but it won't hurt you. Also I've had a few days that I was really sleepy during the day. It is so not like me, I am usually anxious and can't take a nap. But I trusted my body, and I napped when I could. It is okay. It really is. Our bodies are going through a lot in recovery, so every once in a while I guess they need relief too. Hang in there, the wave will pass and you will feel better!

My thread: https://www.survivingantidepressants.org/topic/24990-surviving82-my-story-wd-from-antidepressants-please-help/

2016-2017: sertraline for approx. 1.5 years for anxiety and OCD outbreak following birth of my son (all the way from 2mg to 200mg), rapid tapered from 150mg for about 6 weeks without issues. Approximately 2 years psych drug free.

Nov 2019 - Feb 2020: fluvoxamine to prevent anxiety/OCD outbreak following birth of my daughter. Had to go off due to constant somnolence.

Feb 2020 - Dec 2020: started escitalopram while rapid tapering fluvoxamine. After 9 months decided to get off due to weight gain, rapid tapered from [I think] 15mg for about 6 weeks without immediate issues.

March-April 2021: started excessive strenuous exercise and dieting regimen for weight loss. Was doing great (or so I thought) for 3 weeks until early April 2021 when out of nowhere massive panic attacks, other dysautonomia symptoms. AWFUL CRASH.

Mid-April 2021: fluoxetine 10mg for 1 week then 20mg for 1 week. Massive side effects, suicidality. Was told to go CT. Side effects gradually started resolving.

Mid-Late May 2021: sertraline for 11 days, fine at low doses but same side effects as prozac at 25 to 50mg. Was told to either drop CT or hold at 1/4 of a 25mg pill.

April-May 2021: trazodone 50mg PRN for sleep. Do not take every day, the only side effect I noticed is dry mouth.

June 8, 2021: stopped all psych meds. Truing to trust that with God's help, my body will heal on its own.

September 9, 2021: reinstated escitalopram 1mg. Gradually worked up to 2.5mg by September 30. Reinstatement seems to be helping!

Other: Hashimoto thyroiditis for 11 years (on levothyroxine varying doses, between 88mcg and 125mcg), history of anxiety/GAD including health anxiety, OCD. History of autonomic dysfunction (migraines, vasovagal episodes).

@Phoenixmama, it is okay, I understand it 100%. This whole thing sucks big time. How can it be that the symptoms change day by day, if not hour by hour, every day is something different? You feel totally fine in the evening and wake up feeling in the total low, how can it be? This is just crazy. This is what our lives are now, until we recover. I am trying my best to let it go and not worry about this, but sometimes the symptoms are so unsettling. When you are at the work meeting and suddenly feel this unexplained wave of anxiety that makes you want to jump out of your own skin. But you need to keep sitting like nothing happened, because for the rest of the world - nothing happened. Nobody would understand unless they (or their loved one) have been through this. Can't even say that I blame people for not understanding, I don't think that I would have understood either... Even my therapist told me yesterday that she hoped that by now I would be over the intrusive thoughts about WD and accept that this is just my anxiety making its comeback. This is really hard but what can I say? All I know is that I am happy that they won't understand. I wouldn't wish understanding this on anyone.

@PhoenixmamaWow you are daring to go to such a busy place.  With my high sensitivity my brain would have turn even more into a buzzing, zapping, and the electricity zinging running around non stop.  What a mess my brain would have been in.  It would have felt like  it was going to explode. How did you ever concentrate?  What we don't do for our kids.🤪

I don’t know.  You might be lucky and not be due for a wave.  If you didn’t react with overstimulation while being there or immediately afterward maybe your system was producing a lot of calming hormones.  It would make sense to keep everything very calm and quiet for a while.

What a cutie!

@Phoenixmama  Boy are you lucky.  I went out for lunch with my husband and we did a few errands, gone about 3 hrs.  I was almost in tears by the time I got home, My head was a mess, I was very fatigued, anxious and that all made me feel in the dumps.  I took some Tylenol and have been trying to recover.  Sitting on my front porch outside.  I guess I should be pleased with my self, a week ago I would have never went to sit in restaurant, the thought was to overwhelming.  So I must be making some progress slowly .

 Your picture is adorable

Hi @Rosetta I’m glad to hear you went out  , sorry it wasn’t the best experience 🥺 you’ll get there... I noticed when I go out I’m not anxious or anything when I do but when it’s time to sleep I sleep so deep because I’m just so exhausted, when I reached my grandmas today I took a two hour nap and again I slept so hard... I hope I don’t pay for this nap later

Hey P,

I just wanted to say I too get the doom and dread feelings.  They are the absolute worst.

It all centers around not being their for my son which was always a small fear of mine but now it's magnified and I'm always thinking worst case scenario.

I originally took Zoloft and then Effexor for stress from work and minor worry.   When I took the Effexor I had an adverse reaction and these doom thoughts entered my life.  I was hospitalized during my adverse reaction and ended up on Lexapro and Benzos being gassed that I was now mentally ill.

Just so you know, you are not alone and I pray these feelings leave you soon.

Med History - 2014 - 2020 - Zoloft, Effexor, Klonopin, Lexapro, Buspar (No longer on any of these)

Went to my doctor for an annual and mentioned I was stressed, gave me Zoloft, stopped it after 3 months because it didn't do anything, ended up in withdrawal and was told I had a mental illness.  I've been diagnosed Bipolar and Clinically Depressed.

Current Med Taper

Lamotrigine - 25mg (May 21') -> 24mg (May 23') -> 23mg (July 23') -> 22mg (Aug 23') -> 21mg (Oct 23') -> 20mg (Dec 23')

Supplement: Magnesium, Fish Oil

@Phoenixmama, omg you guys are so cute!! I love the pic. Just by looking at you, Mama, I would have never guessed that anything is wrong with you, you look so happy! I guess same with me too, I look fine on the outside so people have no idea. But inside... ugh. Still waves every day.

Everything that you describe, headaches, being super tired etc, I have that too. I find that distracting helps me. For example, yesterday I was out and about with my kids, and after I got home I sat in the chair to rest, and I feel so exhausted, like I cannot even get up. Like my body was filled with lead. But I had to prepare dinner for my 4 kids and get them to bed, so I couldn't just sit and feel sorry for myself. I said, you know what, I don't care. Im going to get up and do what I have to do and I don't care if I feel like I cant even move. Im just going to do it anyway. And I did, I got up and went upstairs to get the laundry, and then I started the owen to cook dinner. Believe it or not, next time I remembered about it, my tiredness was gone and I felt okay. Same thing happens when I have other symptoms too. When I'm ignoring them and distracting they seem to be gone quick, whereas if I concentrate on them they seem to be getting worse. Did you notice something similar for you?
