dedcrush
Hi everyone, I'm a 20-year-old female from Cambridge, England. I have taken 50mg of sertraline for two days to treat my severe depression and am quickly realizing that is it not the best decision and that I want to come off them. I'd like some advice on how to do so from the forum members. Do I just stop taking them altogether? I'd be grateful for any information as I am in this situation because I'm pretty clueless. 01/04/21 50mg sertraline 02/04/21 50mg sertraline Link to comment
Moderator Gridley Posted April 3, 2021 Moderator Share Posted April 3, 2021 Welcome to SA, dedcrush. Since you've only been on the Sertraline for two days, you can simply stop taking them as of now. We recommend non-drug coping skills to deal with life issues. Take a look at the links in the following link and see which you think might be helpful to you. Non-drug techniques to cope We don't recommend a lot of supplements on SA, as many members report being sensitive to them due to our over-reactive nervous systems, but two supplements that we do recommend are magnesium and omega 3 (fish oil). Many people find these to be calming to the nervous system. Magnesium, nature's calcium channel blocker Omega-3 fatty acids (fish oil) Add in one at a time and at a low dose in case you do experience problems. Get supplements that ae single ingredient (not mixed with other types of supplements). You might be interested in the book, Anatomy of an Epidemic, by Robert Whitaker. dedcrush
Thank you very much for your response. I'm glad I found this forum now. My mother has been insisting that I use SSRIs for a long time now. She's been on venlafaxine for 20 years. 01/04/21 50mg sertraline 02/04/21 50mg sertraline Link to comment
