Do you mean pasting a link to your Introduction topic?

If this is what you want to do, go to the first page of your Introduction topic and copy the URL aka address and paste it in the post.  If you don't want it to appear in a summary box but just as a link, immediately after pasting the URL you click on Display as Link at the bottom of the Reply Box.

Some members include the link to their Introduction topic in their drug signature.  This way you can just state that the link is there instead of posting the link in the post.

I hope that helps.

If it's something else that you wish to do, please explain more fully.  Thank you.

Two questions:

1. How do I use the "quote" option? I see people selecting quotes from other members' posts, and the quote appears in a box in their message, then they can post a reply to it.

2. How do I get the "@(member name)" option to work? I see posts with the @ symbol and the member's name in a black box so that they will receive notification of a reply. I typed @(member name) into one of my replies, and it didn't appear in a black box when posted.

Thanks.

Feb. 4, 2020 = reduce dose to 21.875 mg. Hold for 10 weeks. April 14, 2020 = 18.75 mg. Hold for 10 weeks.

Hi:

I will try to answer your questions.

Highlight what you want to quote. A box will come up that says “quote selection”. Select that and it will copy your quote.

Just type @and the persons name. Names will drop down. Select the name you wish to tag and will show up like @Artistic. It will be highlighted in blue.

Hope this answers your questions.

How do I search for a phrase?

I want to search for the phrase “low-dose lithium” but all I get are results with individual words: lithium, dose, low.

How do I search for the entire phrase?

Bruci

1980s: First diagnosed with depression. Treated with a tricyclic. 1988: Switched to Prozac 20 mg.  1990s to 2010: On and off Prozac. Increased dose led to side effects. 2011: Put on Zyprexa. 2011: Work burnout and breakdown. Hospitalized for suicidal depression. Switched to Seroquel. Switched to Celexa 40 mg and lithium 300 mg. 2019: Stopped Seroquel.

2020 July: Decreased Celexa to 30 mg in attempt to alleviate sexual dysfunction. Worked somewhat.

2020 August: Decreased Celexa to 20 mg. Sexual function improved but w/d effects started.

2020 September: Maintaining Celexa at 20 mg. Experiencing w/d effects - fatigue, dysphoria, mood instability

2020 September 13: Increased Celexa to 30 mg due to w/d effects. Still on lithium 300 mg/day.

2020 October 3: Reduced Celexa to 27 mg. Started taper. 10% per month as recommended.

2020 October 18: Reduced to 24 mg.

2020 December 4: Reduced to 21 mg.

2020 December 23: Reduced to 20 mg (spacing out taper intervals due to persistent w/d effects)

2021 September 23: Several reductions over the past 9 months to 7.0 mg. Stressful life circumstances led me to feeling very depressed with suicidal feelings, so upped to the dose to 10 mg until I feel better.

You might try a search engine like google.com. Type in “survivingantidepressants.org low dose lithium”

Hopefully you can get more detailed results that way.

Sometimes this works better:

site:survivingantidepressants.org

And put "low dose lithium" in quotes

So:  site:survivingantidepressants.org "low dose lithium"

I just tried it using duckduckgo.com and it brings up lots of posts.

How can I edit my intro? I didn’t have time to proof read it and I made some grammatical mistakes that are bothering me and have the year wrong on my last time in treatment. I put November 2020 and it should be 2019. I can’t seem to find a way to edit it. Does anyone know?

This is the success stories thread.  You could call it Grandmother’s Success Story or something like that.

@Phoenixmama

There are Support and Current Events on the umbrella page.  The Success Stories are in Current Events.

It takes a while to learn to navigate here.  Here is the umbrella page https://www.survivingantidepressants.org

I can't seem to find a way to edit my signature text now.  When I click "edit my profile" there is no option to edit signature.  Can someone help?  THanks!

Was on Lexapro for 66 days starting in early January.  5mg for a week, 10mg for 3, 7.5 for 3 days, then 5mg and 2.5mg for approx two weeks after.

Was on Lithium for 60 days starting in late January. 1 300mg ER pill a day.  Stopped CT

Was given a .5 ativan script in early Jan.  Took it maybe 20x total from early Jan to beg of June, 2020.

-Fall of 2019:  had two vertigo attacks for the first time with no warning, each followed by 4-5 days of morning dizziness.

-Last Friday of 2019:  had first ever, out of the blue, panic attack.  Went to ER- didn't know what was happening.  Was diagnosed w/GAD, even though had never had anxiety or depression problems before.  Basically no health problems at all prior to this, and in very good shape emotionally, physically, and mentally.

-4 days after panic attack given lexapro.  That's when the hell began.  Was on it 66 days.  Reacted badly to it.  Gave me suicidal ideation 4 wks after starting it, plus exhaustion, off the charts anxiety, dizziness, and fatigue.  Did a fast taper over 5 wks.  Was on it 66 days total.

-been off lexapro completely since mid-March, 2020.  First 3 weeks I got better and better.  Then, week 4 into WD got slammed.  Since then, over 64 side effects/symptoms.  Can't drive.  At times, barely surviving.

-since Jan., have been to the e r 16x.

-was given lithium after experienced SI from lexapro to as a "mood stabilizer".  Never really noticed anything from it, nor anything after stopping it, except for a few days of heightened depression about a week after.

-was given low dosage ativan script 2nd week into lexapro to deal with the anxiety/panic spike caused by the lexapro.  Took it perhaps 20x between Jan and June, 2020.  Always made me feel better, but last time it was taken (early June) experienced intrusive thoughts after so stopped it.  Didn't feel any negative reaction from stopping it, perhaps b/c it was taken so infrequently and the dosage was so low.

When you start typing @name, it will bring up suggestions.  To get the tag to work you need to click on the name you want, just typing @name without clicking on the name does not work.

Hello,

I am very sorry if this seem like an unnecessary question but I have been flummoxed by how my navigation of SA is/isn't going for me?

I believe when I first joined, years ago, I asked for email notifications of anything posted.  Does that not happen any more?  I have tried to remedy this by making sure I am following certain members, but I am still only getting email alerts about one member in particular.  I hate it when I find out that someone wrote to me, and asked a question, and I never answered because I didn't know about the post.

Perhaps things have changed and I have to train myself to check the SA site daily.  I used to do so whenever Igot an email.

Sorry to waste you time.  I have spent considerable time trying to remedy this to no avail...

Thank you to all who post here.  I may not be able to help myself but I have learned a lot through my struggles and would love to help others with theirs.

  • 2011 Stopped ambien and crossed over to valium 17.5 mg. (updosing 2.5 mg. to cover ambien C/T )
  • tapered valium w/ long holds to 12.74 mg. from a high of approximately 20-30 mg/day
  • 2015-2023 tapered trileptal to 98 mg.  had to completely stop tapering due to multiple chronic, serious health issues
  • currently 2024 still on 98 mg. trileptal and 4 mg. remeron
  •   Currently on benzo hold as I have to cross-over from brand-name valium to generic diazepam.   The diazepam is way weaker and brought on severe acute w/d
  • Current dose of diazepam is 7.9 and valium is 6.6.  I had to up-dose the total valium/diazepam from 12.74 to 14.5 where I have stayed since June 2023.  I am crossing over to generic at a somewhat tolerable rate of .3mg/month after about 2 months of trial/error w/ updosing.  I am not currently tapering; will continue to cross over.

Okay, I JUST went back to notifications and saw that I had checked "push" but not email, so I changed it to both.  Hopefully that is what I have needed to do all along.  So, noone need waste their time responding to my former question.

Thanks

Hello, this is not urgent, but if someone is bored or has some extra time on their hands and feels like instructing, it would be much appreciated.

I don't know whether this is an SA question or a general computer question. I am not tech-savvy.

How does one make one of those elegant hyperlinks? Where it's not a copy-paste full URL address link but like when people say, "You can find the info here" and the word "here" is the hyperlink that if you click on it takes you further to wherever.

As opposed to what I do, which is "You can find the info here: ____ " and then in the blank space I paste a whole long line of address. I think that is also defined as a hyperlink, it is just not as stylish or concise as the other version.

Anyone feel like helping me up my game? I could use some makeover tips.

It's easy peasy once you know how.  And of course someone had to teach me how to do it.

You copy the URL for the link.  Then in the reply box type the text that you want to be the hyperlink, for example see this post.  You then highlight the text (see this post) and click on the link icon to the right of the U at the top of the reply box.  You then paste the URL in the top box (your text see this post should already be in the bottom box) and click Insert into Post.

You can do it a different way by clicking where you want the link to be (without typing the text) click on the Link icon and the paste the URL in the top box and the text you want it to appear s in the bottom box.

And yes, I agree that they look much better than the full URL which sometimes can be very long.

I can't seem to reply to a topic in a forum. I want to ask a question in the 'Using a scale to measure and weigh doses' topic under the tapering forum but it doesn't have the 'Reply to this topic' button in the top of the page or at the bottom, like this topic. Would someone be able to assist and guide me on this? Thank you!

-02/2014 Started taking Abilify 15mg

-08/2014 CT off of Abilify

-12/2014 Hospitalized d/t CT of Abilify 15mg (w/d symptoms came several months after my last dose)

-12/2014 to 09/2018 took Abilify, tapered off very fast and down to 0mg (basically did CT, under supervision/ "guidance" of my psychiatrist)

-12/2018 Hospitalized 2nd time from tapering off Abilify, in hospital- docs added Lithium 1800mg along with reinstating 10mg Abilify

-01/2019- present: tapering off slowly Abilify and Lithium (currently on 5mg Abilify and 600mg Lithium), doing well, stabilized nervous system for the most part

I see that you're new here and have not yet set up an intro topic. I think that's why you haven't been able to reply to a topic in a forum.

The way it works is that new members are asked to set up a personal intro topic. The first couple of posts need to be seen and approved by a moderator. After that you'll be good to go.

Warm wishes,

A.

Question about replies: Why are there certain posts I can't reply to? There is one that I'm interested in leaving a comment on and there's no blue reply button or place to write a reply. As far as I'm concerned the topic I want to comment on isn't closed and the most recent reply was a few weeks ago. I'm wondering if this is an issue with me creating this account relatively recently, though I have made my introduction post and have visited many of the posts on this site.

Here is the post in question, though this has happened to me for many other posts:

April 2019-August 2019: Escitalopram (Lexapro) 5mg daily

August 2019-January 2020: Escitalopram increased to 10mg daily

January 2020-January 2021: Switched from Escitalopram to Venlafaxine XR 75mg daily (Effexor XR). Two-week taper period between both recommended by doctor.

January 2021-March 2021: Venlafaxine XR increased to 112.5 mg daily

March 2021-September 2021: Switched back to Escitalopram 10mg daily and quit venlafaxine over two-week taper period as my doctor recommended, as I started becoming lightly aware to my numbness on Venlafaxine and requested to switch back

September 2021-February 2022: No medication: Tapered off Lexapro with a two week taper period once again recommended by my doctor. Wanted to be off medication as I was starting to notice its effect on my personality. Was never made aware that two weeks is horribly short for this process until just recently learning about it here. Protracted withdrawal ensued but only realized what this was recently. At the time I thought I was just very numb/depressed and my self-awareness was pretty low.

February 2022-March 2022: Buspirone 10mg daily. Doctor recommended this as I was feeling increasingly anxious and depressed. Didn't really do anything.

March 2022-current day: Buspirone increased to 2 10mg pills daily, Buproprione XL (Wellbutrin) 150 mg added for depression. 10 mg Propranolol added but only to be used as necessary for physical symptoms of anxiety but I have stopped taking it lately.

Hi, I’m new here and have a question about the “Activity” scroll. Whenever someone joins the site, or follows someone else, or responds to something, that fact is listed among the various postings. Is there a way to turn that feature off in my settings?

1997 - 1/22/23 Paxil - 20 mg * 1/22/23 - 18 mg * 2/19/23 - 16.2 mg * 3/31/23 - 14.6 mg * 5/9/23 - 13.1 mg * 6/11/23 - 11.8 mg * 8/17/23 - 10.6 mg * 9/18/23 - 10 mg

1997 - present Wellbutrin 150 mg

non-psychiatric: Metoprolol, Rosuvastatin, Omeprazole, Eliquis

I don't think there is a way to prevent that from showing up, possum. All of those actions are a part of the "activity" that shows up in activity streams.

2013-2017: med free

2017-2018: tried more SNRIs and other things

October 2019 - Feb 2020: escitalopram, adderall, trazodone
May 2020 - present: citalopram, adderall, trazodone.  Mostly at 20 mg citalopram

Three citalopram taper attempts: 1. Jan-May 2020 (from 30 to ~15, went back to 20). 2. Dec 2021 - Aug 2022 (from 20 to 6.25, went back to 20). 3. Dec 2022 - May 2023 (from 20 to 6.25, went back to 10 mg on 4/27, to 20 mg on 5/7)

May - June 2023 Rexulti trial: .25 mg on 5/26, .5 mg on 6/1, 1 mg on 6/7, .5 mg on 6/9, .375 on 6/10, .25 mg on 6/11, .125 on 6/13, .075 on 6/15, off as of 6/16/23.
