25mg is not a high dose . its a tiny dose.

@GrannyIf I were you, I would taper down to a lower dose before jumping off.  We at SA suggest to get on as low a dose as possible before stopping altogether.  Here is the thread on tapering Zoloft.   See the link in @jutland86previous post about SERT Occupancy levels.  Even at low doses, these drugs have a major effect on our nervous systems.

Tapering Zoloft

If I were you, I would reinstate back to 22.5 mg of Zoloft, and then continue on with a gradual taper. This would be 10% less than the 25 mg.  These things have a way of catching up with us weeks or months later, and you may be in for an unpleasant surprise down the road.

i been goohleing about all this  and i can see how maybe im tapering to fast, i got in touch with my dr last april and told her i was tapering down to 25mg   she said i could stop taking zoloft rite then since i was on such a small dose now. but i didnt , because i didnt trust her advise. so i think i will reinstate to 22.5mg and figure out what the heck to do. im not stupid. dont want to get into health trouble, thank you for the advise

After you Reinstate to 22.5, stay there for at least a month, if not longer.  It may be a shock to your system that you were at 0 for a few days.  The sooner you reinstate, the better.  These doctors know little to nothing about how to properly get off of psych drugs.  I'm glad you are here with us.

@Granny  Thank You, I am relieved.  I didn't want you to set yourself back, you have worked so hard to get to this point. 🤗 I know that you get depressed easily and that can take you down really fast.

You and I have a big hill to climb being on meds so long, but slow and steady win the race. 🏃‍♀️

hi Greatful, yes i get ruminating (had to look that up) thoughts all the time. i dont think ive learned to deal with it very well, i just try to go into positive self talk when i realize  im ruminating.or i get into some humor, humor always helps. i measured out my 22.5 mg zoloft today, 7 days worth., i will stay on 22.5 mg for a few weeks i guess, actually have no clue whats next, yes, you most definitely can get thru all this! just remember you are not alone.

@Grannyit could be you are grieving.  I know for me, now that I'm almost off the meds, I've had a lot of unresolved grief to work through.  Please don't give up now.  These meds tend to cover up and numb emotions.

Yes, it is quite possible you are grieving.  I heard altostrata, the owner and founder of this forum, say in an interview that as we get off these drugs, the negative emotions come back first, and the positive ones come back later.  Not only that, we have neuro emotions that are caused by our nervous system being chemically off balance.  Check out this thread - it goes into neuro emotions, and techniques to help:

Neuro Emotions

For me, it helps to find a positive activity to focus on to balance out the negative painful thoughts and feelings, like walking outside in nature, doing something artistic/creative, cooking a healthy tasty meal, praying, reading the Bible, etc.  Also, a new technique I've learned to deal with negative thoughts, is say "it's only a thought", and then focus on my senses.  What am I hearing?  What am I feeling?  What am I seeing?  Notice the sounds, sights and things I'm touching, and focus on those.

@Granny  How are you doing today..  I have been worried about you.  Remember your brain is healing when it is a wave.  I want you to read this story,  it will help you understand why you are feeling the way you do.  It is about a woman who healed from benzos and what her brain is doing to heal

Click on the title and it should open up.

Remember Granny us long time drug users need to stick together, we can do this one day at a time.❤️

Do you ever read any of the success stories?  It really does help to be reminded that our  brains can work just fine off of these drugs.

We can write our success stories and  encourage other members who wonder if their brain can heal after so many years on the drugs.
