@Blossom71Hey, thank you for the tip (breathing more controllably worked in early last month)

@hayduke Yes, I after all do love my parents.. But I can't afford mentally going back living with them really.

I can visit, but not for long.

I'm working part time- 5h a day, 5/6 days a week.

It's going well and a little boring.

But I can't argue on that. I can pay bills, live in a great area with a very nice garden. So yeah.. more of a benefit than not doing it.

-

I've tried to find a pharmacy that can weight pills, not for now, but for when I'll reach a very low dose.

I have found one but they can weight up to a minimum of 10mgpw, equal to 3mgai of amisulpride.

I think I want to go a little slower when it comes to final dose. There's time, I know.. but that's part of my plan, so I keep searching.

-

I had some sloppy days last month, but I have still worked, made housework and got in touch with friends and family. Now all is good.

-

In the last few days I have tiny jerks/spasms around my chest, arms and leg muscles. But it's not a big deal

-

Just wanted to let you know today I'm getting down to 132mg.

-

I'm adding an informative and humane video about the procces of reducing antipsycotics - The video

Update:

In the last days I have a tense feeling behind the nostrils, that's in the brain. amigdala perhaps? 🤔 I feel dizzy in parts of the day, more energised.

Thinking has become more complex, some in a good way, but with a slight challenge to stay off of negative thinking like not valueing myself enough, comparing myself to lifes of people/ex friends who I'm not in touch with (and for good reasons) they have family support, spouce, children, nice jobs.

Circumstances of life of which I have to accept, about why I'm not truly living the way I deserve Why I'm taking meds in the first place, how things gone bad when I took hard drugs for years and not doing anything with my life while others has done so much in their 20s and 30s.

My short term memory hasn't served me well, actually failing me since I'm taking amisulpride.

I'm relying on notes on my phone and writing tasks just about ANYTHING. Groceries, work related, housework, even how to weight current dose and when to eat and a lot more.

I don't sleep all day since working, around 8-9h, I dream more dreams.

I'm doing more exercise. stretches, gardening and drinking water, eating healthy.

So, that's it for now.

Good week, Be strong

Hey Joseph, nice to hear from you. I’ve never had this nostril thing that you’ve mentioned. Perhaps go and check that with your GP?

You’re very lucky to have your garden, that you eat well and that you have a job that keep yourself busy and make you independent from others. I really think you’re in the ideal condition for tapering. No to mention that you’re going very slowly. You basically put everything on your side to success, and I’m positive that you’ll get there. Let’s stay in touch my friend, I think chatting regularly can be beneficial. I’ve had the tendency to isolate a lot the past few days. Also wanted to point out that pretty soon It’s gonna be 4 years that I’ll be off meds. But it’s mind-boggling how powerful these drugs are. I can vividly still feel the effect of then to this day. Anyway my friend, I hope you’re hanging in there, keep at what you’re doing, you’re in the right path to recovery. All the best from France.

2015-2016 : seroplex. 15 then stopped and went on effexor.
2016-2017 : effexor 75

2017-2018 : Abilify 5 for a couple months. And then Amisulpride gradually increased to 600 within two months.

2019: went off Amisulpride 600 after having been on it for 10 months. The tapper was very fast: 3 weeks. The same year I went off effexor (the tapper was much better, in that it lasted 10 months)

Hey everyone, I wanted to ask something.

The reason why I wanted to get help in the first place was because I had some degree of delusions which I believe was due to me not doing anything with my life for 4 years or more (I was sleeping all day long) by that time I ate garbage food and drinks, alcohol and weed, didn't exercise..

basically and didn't had the tools to cope with the anxiety so I related one physical symptoms to mental/emotional feelings

My thoughts in the time of crisis was not to die, and part of me was really juat paranoid/dramatic. I stayed in this state for 6 months.

After I have tried to wean off my med in 2018, my symptoms were much more severe than what I was dealing in the first place. But I know today I ccan handle the physical symptoms.

My worry is about  paranoid/delusional states which I was at back then when I CT.

Can you give me tips about that? How to stay grounded in reality based on your own experience? What helped/helping you the most? Any routine/activity/mantras/youtube videos that can explain that to me would be very welcome.

Thank you for your time reading this.

One step at a time

Hayduke, what you propose is to calm the mind, anxiety related.

I from my own experience during the last CT had repetitive and disturbing thoughts to a degree I couldn't function.

I believe I had an underlying problematic conditions during pre meds, like feeling depressed/ socially anxious but I had never been so disconnected from reality when I was off the med.

today i'm much more aware to my thoughts and doing the best that I can to achieve life without meds.

Therapy/eat, drink healthy/exercise and trying to develop healthy relationships.

i just wanted to know if there's someone who coped, have strategy to cope with the thinking/ accute repetitive part, maybe someone who were in the forum, I dont know.. I've already read the forums topics about spirals/windows and waves.

It bothers me though It's not happening now. I want to plan this out and stay grounded I guess?

Hey again,

I'm having muscle cramps in my hands and hips for about 3 weeks.

I'm doing a lot of stretches, and considering buying magnesium for the next round.

I've noticed also that I'm kind of moody, not thinking of anything in particular and basically just staring.

I don't know what it is exactly, but that's a change I need to acknowledge.

Perhaps it's best to hold for at least another week or so. I'll do that.

You may want to try epsom salt baths. That's another way of getting magnesium and doing so in a warm bath is great for helping with muscle and joint aches.

That sounds like a good idea. In your signature, you have May as your last reduction. What day in May did you make the reduction? Did these new symptoms happen before or after this last reduction?

To be honest It happened right after the last reduction. In the 1th of May (I'm making a cut every 1th each month)

I'm not in severe pain or anything, but yeah! will do baths with magnesium if I find it necessary,

THANKS Shep for the reminder :).

This may be a sign that it's time to reduce your taper rate and / or have longer holds built into your taper. No reason to rush this. You've made great progress in areas such as getting a job and your own place to live with a garden. Best to be as functional as possible.

https://akathisiaalliance.org/ - I saw this site, it's really rings to me, to what I've been through in 2018 (CT). The feeling of fear and terror without the understanding to point out what it is..

I was a mess, felt so miserable.

Back then I did not see other option. I quit my job, that has been reminding me all of those feelings of terror (the co workers and the crowd) right until the last second there and be at the doctors mercy. Worst decision yet, but in desperate times you can do ANYTHING to get some kind of relief.

So, a tiny update- I've felt stable in the last week and got down to 110mg today.

Just one thing before I leave in relation to the topic-

If I had akathisia when I CT will it be in the same intensity all over again even though I'm tapering slow?

Are there any cases in which one did not had akathisia on the second try because he reduced his drug slow enough?

Thank you for reading, take care and a good weekend.

Yes, many people benefit from reinstating their drug and then tapering slowly. Because your nervous system is traumatized from an earlier cold turkey, you'll want to go very slowly, but there's no reason to think you'll have worse symptoms with a slow taper than you had going cold turkey.

I didn't said that. I was asking if there was someone who had akathisia when CT, then on his next (slow) try did not had it

I didn't said that. I was asking if there was someone who had akathisia when CT, then on his next (slow) try did not had it

Yes, many people find that reinstating the drug resolves their symptoms (including akathisia) and they are able to have a much easier go of it with a slow taper. Sometimes the symptoms resolve completely, sometimes the reinstatement tones it down.

From what you've written, that seems to be the case for you, true?

https://akathisiaalliance.org/ - I saw this site, it's really rings to me, to what I've been through in 2018 (CT).

This is a great update, Josef. If you feel like you're getting upticks of any symptom, including akathisia, you'll know it's time to either updose or go into a long hold.

The fact that you're feeling stable now is a great sign of nervous system resiliency. Try not to go into those worrying "what if" thoughts. You're doing really well.

True, I remember back then it took a couple of weeks. But resolved.

Thank you for replying Shep! Great tips, I appreciate it very much.

Next reduction I'm going to be taking one whole (and last) pill of 100mg.

from this point on I'll be getting my capsules via compounding pharmacy. They could get me to the last stages, the minimum dose they can weight is 10mgpw. (Around 4mg of Solian)

  • 1 month later...

After more than a month which felt stable, got down to 100mg in 12th of july (my birthday - I'm 35).

4 days has past and nothing major.but feel muscle aches and like I need to stretch every now and then.

I still haven't bought magnesium.. I'm sort of comfortable with that for now, no bothers.

Last thing is I'm waking up in the last days with hard reflex movements. Like every part of my body goes in other direction.

Like I had a bad dream falling into a hole. Hehe..

still do exercise 3 days a week, and stretch afterwards.

Still eat healthy.

Still work 6 shifts a week.

And still haven't picked up my guitar... I rather listening to music, not playing.

Meeting with a friend or a family member now and then.

That's all the updates for now.

Hope you guys are ok too.

Have a good week 'yall

Did a blood test the other day. And I have been told by the doctor I have an out of range liver enzyme in my results. Although he said that's not that serious, I still wanted to consult with you guys..I'm guessing it's because of the med.

The Enzyme's called ALT(GPT) and the result is 59. Normal range is 5 up to 50.

Is it permanent? Can be treated with  supplementation of any sort?

Reduction update - Already ordered the next batch from compounding pharmacy and soon I'll be down to 90mg!

Thanks in advance.

I have started taking 90mg today guys..

Wanted to mention I had mild anxiety in one night (16 of Aug). It lasted for 2hrs. It was very mild though. but I considered that to be the first.

on another note, In the last months I'm having intense, vivid, bad dreams mixed with confusion and also getting up confused or just tired.

Nothing major.. Just for notes.

This measure the glucose in the blood over a 3 month period.  It is used to diagnose diabetes.

@ChessieCatHey thanks for letting me know.

That's very important, I'll add it in the next blood test.

Asked the compound pharmacy's pharmacist how he technically doing my 10% reductions for 1 month.

He explained as follows-

1. Took off 3 pills out of one pack of 30 to get to 10% (each pill equal to 100mgai).

2. After he crushed to powder, 2.7g of Lactose was added into the mix.

3. Used only 00 capsules, therefore deviding daily dose into 2 was needed because of the amount.

4. For measurement they using a Japanese lab scale that scales 0.000g rates.

I have been told by the doctor I have an out of range liver enzyme in my results. Although he said that's not that serious, I still wanted to consult with you guys..I'm guessing it's because of the med.

The Enzyme's called ALT(GPT) and the result is 59. Normal range is 5 up to 50.

Is it permanent? Can be treated with  supplementation of any sort?

No one has referred to my message.

I drink plenty of water everyday, but noticed my uriene is very yellow and been like that for 3 months,

What does it mean?

What the liver anzyme blood test results mean? Is it a signs for pre diabetes? Because after I posted @ChessieCat talked about that. She might have said it to clear/exclude the illness too.

Is anyone have/had liver problems due to antipsychotics? I'm sure there are!.

GP said there is NO treatment available to help. No supplements or vitamins. So without trying to sound too anxious/tense, or anything really.

I am just worried, you know? I'm trying to calm myself off and it works well and all. But i think I need a little help investigating this to clear things. Calmness would not change those blood tests.

Is it reversible?

I have two years until I'm off, at least!,.Let me know if you have any lead.

for now, hope everything is good with yall. I'm fine btw.. tnx in advance.

Josey.

Don't worry about this value of your liver enzyme,  if caused by the drug.

It's quite normal for the majority to have slightly elevated liver enzymes under this medication.

It's completely reversible, when you stop it .

I had my  transaminases elevated (not by far) when receiving ssri treatment, and returning back to normal when stopping it.

However since you  noticed it ,if you continue your treatment, would be appropriate to check it from time to time...
