Moderator Frogie Posted April 8, 2022 Moderator Share Posted April 8, 2022 @Bea81 I'm glad you haven't touched the benzo. Hopefully that will help with the reinstatement. Yes, you want to try 0.25 mg. Do you have a pill splitter? They are fairly inexpensive. That would be the best way to split them as accurately as possible. You don't want to take anymore than that in the beginning to see how you are going to react to a reinstatement. You can always go up a little if necessary, but it's much harder to go down as you know already. PREVIOUS medications and discontinuations: Have been on medications since 1996. Valium, Gabapentin, Lamictal, Prilosec and Zantac from 2000 to 2015 with a fast taper by a psychiatrist. Liquid Lexapro Nov, 2016 to 31-March, 2019 Lexapro free!!! (total Lexapro taper was 4 years-started with pill form) ---CURRENT MEDICATIONS:Supplements:Milk Thistle, Metamucil, Magnesium Citrate, Vitamin D3, Levothyroxine 25mcg, Vitamin C, Krill oil. Xanax 1mg 3x day June, 2000 to 19-September, 2020 Went from .150 grams (average weight of 1 Xanax) 3x day to .003 grams 3x day. April 1, 2021 went back on 1mg a day. Started tapering May 19, 2023. July 28, 2023-approximately .87mg. Dr. fast tapered me at the end and realized he messed up. Prescribe it again and I am doing "slower than a turtle" taper. 19-September, 2020 Xanax free!!! (total Xanax taper was 15-1/2 months-1-June, 2019-19-September, 2020) I am not a medical professional. The suggestions I make are based on personal experience. Link to comment
Administrator Altostrata Posted April 8, 2022 Administrator Share Posted April 8, 2022 @Bea81 before doing anything, what is your current daily symptom pattern? What times o'clock do you take each of your drugs, with their dosages? How do you feel before and after each dose? It could be you are having symptoms related to your current drug dosing that do not require reinstatement of Zoloft. This is not medical advice. What times o'clock do you take each of your drugs, with their dosages? How do you feel before and after each dose? It could be you are having symptoms related to your current drug dosing that do not require reinstatement of Zoloft. @Altostrata,I take my Oxazepam 20 mg in the morning and then I take 15 mg again in the afternoon. At night an hour or two before bed I take 10 mg Oxazepam and 2 mg Melatonin. I dont even take supplements anymore cause they cause me to belive I'll get worse. There really isnt a pattern in my symptoms, like yesterday I had only slept 2 hours and it was a panic kind of sleep yet I managed to run errands and eat quite good to. It really hit me with the derealization at about 2 in the afternoon when I laid down on the couch to rest. And I cant see any triggers except maybe when I have to much time to think or have a less good conversation with a family member for instance it could set of panic. My main issue is Derealization and it causes severe panic and a doom sense of feeling and its there daily now. Oh, I forgot to mention I take 5 mg Carbimazole at 3 in the afternoon every other day for my thyroid. I had an overactive one and have no choice but to take that drug. So its just Oxazepam, Melatonin and Carbimazole I take. Melatonin really helps in not just making me able to sleep but it has a calming effect on me. Right now its 9 in the morning here and I had a, for me, good night sleep of about 6 hours and Im feeling ok this morning all tho detached like usual. I belive its my worry's of needing Zoloft that fuels a lot here and also the fact I got so bad again about a month ago. Deep down I truly dont think I need Zoloft in fact I belive it made me worse off yet I have a fear my brain needs it and that I wont get my old self back. Thank you so much for the time to answer. I really dont want to reinstate yet Ive been so desperate and feeling so low I was starting to see no other option. Your support, and the support on here means the world. Thank you. Zoloft 200 mg: 2001-2021 Oxazepam 45 mg: 2001-2021. Was on both these drugs for 20 years. Tapped of Zoloft in mid April 2021 and went of them the beginning of June 2021. I am still on Oxazepam. Yes I take them at 8 in the morning, at 4 in the afternoon and at 9 in the evening. I dont understand what you mean by the effects of oxazepam and derealization cause I didnt have derealization until this wd set in. I didnt have it bad in the begining of wd either it came months into it. Carbimazol can not be found on the drug interaction site but I will put a link to Oxazepam and Melatonin. So I would really appreciate your opinion on Remeron at a small dose for me to stabilize. Its a different ssri than Zoloft and those and I know two people who's been on it and it worked well for them and they came of them ok too. Could this be a way for me to go now? Im truly working hard with a program similar to Claire Weeks and Im trying to care for myself in all ways but I am very far down on many days and think I may need something to help me for a bit. And I dont belive taking more Oxazepam will be a good idea. So when you have the time I would be so thankful to have your opinion on a small dose of Remeron. Pill cutters are easy to get and I will buy one today so I can cut whatever drug I need to. Thank you for you time. Zoloft 200 mg: 2001-2021 Oxazepam 45 mg: 2001-2021.
