Dasha
I was taken Mianserin, then in March got sick with coronavirus. I took a lot of antibiotics. After my recovery, I started PHAD. And I don't know what exactly caused it. I would like to throw an antidepressant because it is one of the possible causes of this condition, but I'm not sure. But I have depression and panic attacks and I do not know how to throw him. How can I throw it without consequences? Please Help! Edited June 26, 2021 by Gridley Link to comment
Moderator Gridley Posted June 26, 2021 Moderator Share Posted June 26, 2021 Welcome to SA, Dash. To start: To give members the best information, we ask them to summarize their medication history in a signature -- drugs, doses, dates, and discontinuations & reinstatements, in the last 12-24 months particularly. Please include the dosage of Mianserin that you're taking and when you started taking it. Account Settings – Create or Edit a signature. We recommend tapering psychiatric drugs, like the antidepressant Mianserin, at a rate of no more than 10% of your current dose every 4 weeks--no faster. The vast majority of psychiatrists know nothing about safe tapering of psychiatric drugs and invariably taper their patients too fast. Never taper an antidepressant by skipping doses (taking doses on alternate days). This is a terrible way to taper and makes withdrawal worse. The following link explains why we recommend the 10% taper. Why taper by 10% of my dosage? Mianserin is a drug we don't encounter often. There are several methods of getting the smaller, non-standard doses you'll need for a 10% taper. Check with your pharmacist to see if Mianserin is available as a prescription liquid. If it is, this would be an easy and accurate way to get the doses you'll need for your taper. Another method of tapering is making your own liquid Mianserin. Ask your pharmacist how soluble Mianserin is and in what liquid it would be soluble. How to make a liquid from tablets or capsules Another method would be to use a digital scale, such as the AWS Smart-Weigh digital scale available on Amazon.com. This scale is also known as the Gemini-20 scale. I don't know if you have Amazon.com in Ukraine. Using a digital scale to measure doses Finally, you can use a compounding pharmacy to make your doses for your taper. We don't recommend a lot of supplements on SA, as many members report being sensitive to them due to our over-reactive nervous systems, but two supplements that we do recommend are magnesium and omega 3 (fish oil). Many people find these to be calming to the nervous system. Magnesium, nature's calcium channel blocker Omega-3 fatty acids (fish oil) Add in one at a time and at a low dose in case you do experience problems. Get supplements that are single ingredient (not mixed with other types of supplements). This is your Introduction topic, where you can complete your drug signature, ask questions and connect with other members. We're glad you found your way here. Dasha
I haven't been here for a long time. I have slowly quit Miaser for some long time ago now. Apparently my Pgad was not connected with him. It started right after I got sick with coronovirus and still. I get better, I get worse. I got off the antidepressants quite easily. the first 2 months there were small problems with sleep and appetite. But I followed all the directions and also drank magnesium and fish oil. Ariel
Hi @Dasha Welcome back. How are you doing today? Do you still have symptoms that bother you, and if so, what are they? I'm not a mod, but I notice that you don't have drug signature. It would be really helpful: On 6/27/2021 at 1:32 AM, Gridley said: To give members the best information, we ask them to summarize their medication history in a signature -- drugs, doses, dates, and discontinuations & reinstatements, in the last 12-24 months particularly. Dasha
I started on miaser 15 in October 2020, then switched to 30 in July 2021. In October-November I started to slowly taper the dose and stopped completely before the new year. It was not particularly difficult after the cancellation. I think Miaser is one of these drugs, weaker and more gentle or something. I do not consider it a dangerous drug. And now I am sure that it was not he who caused my main condition, which torments me - PGAD. The only thing I noticed for myself is that Miaser has a good effect on sleep and appetite, but perhaps even worsens depression. When I stopped the mood became more stable. Initially, I took it specifically for sleep and appetite. Link to comment
