Freda
Kia ora, hello - glad to find this site with the science and experience. Am on the decades long process of getting my brain and body back! A backdrop of CPTSD, fibromyalgia, depression, anxiety, TBI brain injuries, epilepsy (resolved after menopause) and non-epileptic seizures, treated by sooo many drugs. Have reduced in intermittent jolts with the predictable awful withdrawal impacts. Wish to do it as sensibly as possible from now on. Moderator Gridley Posted July 2, 2021 Moderator Share Posted July 2, 2021 Welcome to SA, Freda. Thank you for completing your drug signature. Your signature indicates you intend to start tapering Lamictal by 10% starting July 1, yesterday. My suggestion would be that you hold at your current 150mg dose for a month to let your system stabilize before tapering further. As I think you're know, we recommend tapering by no more than 10% of your current dose every four weeks. This link explains why. Why taper by 10% of my dosage? This link is specifically about tapering Lamictal, including how to get the non-standard doses need for a 10% taper. Tips for tapering off lamotrigine (Lamictal) We don't recommend a lot of supplements on SA, as many members report being sensitive to them due to our over-reactive nervous systems, but two supplements that we do recommend are magnesium and omega 3 (fish oil). Many people find these to be calming to the nervous system. Magnesium, nature's calcium channel blocker Omega-3 fatty acids (fish oil) Add in one at a time and at a low dose in case you do experience problems. Get supplements that are single ingredient (not mixed with other types of supplements). This is your Introduction topic, where you can complete your drug signature, ask questions and connect with other members. We're glad you found your way here.
