Hi @Kat66 so happy to read you are doing a bit (or a lot?) better! At least for now. Wow that sounds so good! Hope the therapy is bringing you something good. And definitely sounds really logic, when you feel a little better you have other things in life where you attention will go. Wish for you that this will last a bit longer! Xx

I do have some guilt that I'm not spending as long on here as a month ago this place was my lifeline.

Glad you are feeling better. Window or not. Make the most of it! Have you had a window before? Are all your symptoms gone?

I have had windows before but not as long as this one.

@Sunnylight @ThatOneGirlStitch @Greatful Having said that, I can feel some darkness lurking in the corners. As I'm sure you'll all be super sensitive to the slightest change in mood....you'll know what I'm talking about? ;) xxx

Hey @Sunnylight I'm pleased to report I am still in a window. I have minimal depression and anhedonia now, although I'm still experiencing some anger and anxiety but nowhere near the levels of a couple of months ago. Having said all that I have lost my creativity and am still cognitively dulled, so I'm hoping that will resolve eventually. That is so annoying as I am an artist, yet have no desire to draw, and no ideas either. Very frustrating. I also have trouble thinking clearly....hoping you're doing OK? xx

WINDOW OVER.....

I made a cut yesterday from 1.8mg to 1.6mg (10%) and WD has hit me today like a train. Fatigue, insane amounts of anger and irritability. Daft question, but I'm guessing this is normal?

Everyone responds to reductions in their drugs differently.  I’m sorry this is happening.  How was your sleep last night?   If it were me I would give it a few more days and see what happens.

Please do not private message me.  Only tag me for urgent questions about tapering and reinstating - thank you.

My sleep was as it always is at the moment, broken, but not too bad. I feel slightly better today but not at the heights I was before I made the cut. I'll keep going at 1.6mg and see what happens.

It's good that your sleep is OK.  It sounds like you system is trying to adjust to the cut you made.  I'm glad you feel some better today.  Be gentle and easy with yourself, and hopefully over the next few weeks your system will adjust to the new dose.  It sounds like you are on the right track!

Still doing OK! I had a somewhat bad initial reaction to my last cut but stabilised quickly thereafter. I'm still getting bits of depression but that's mostly gone. My biggest symptom that's still there is anger and irritability, but the outbursts are a lot less and less violent. xx

History of depression and anxiety. Symptoms of PTSD. 1998-1999 Venlafaxine 2006-2007 Prozac.2013-15 Sertraline 50mg. 2015 cross-tapered to citalopram 20mg. 2015-2021 Citalopram 20mg (brief increase to 30mg for 2/3 months in 2019. 01/2021 Dropped from 20mg to 10mg, back up to 20mg til June. 25/6/21 stopped CT. Started 50mg 5htp after a week without citalopram in the hope this would balance out my serotonin levels. After 3 days increased to 100mg 5htp. 11/7/21 Stopped 5htp with the intention of reinstating citalopram at 1mg. 16/7/21 Reinstated cit at 1mg. 2/8/21 Increased dose to 2mg. 28/11/21 10% reduction to 1.8mg.

PTSD diagnosis October 2023. 11/11/23 started EMDR therapy for PTSD. Multiple unsuccessful attempts to taper off citalopram. Vegan, otherwise healthy lifestyle. Other medications; tapering off combined HRT. Other supplements; magnesium glycinate, vegan omega3. Completely OFF caffeine (since July 21). Finding it difficult to completely give up alcohol but haven’t had any since 25/12/23. Main symptoms; crushing depression, anhedonia/emotional anesthesia, irritability, rage, anxiety/fear, intrusive thoughts, cognitive fog, inability to focus, restlessness and some insomnia

Hi @Greatful thanks so much for checking in - I'm still doing well, still some residual anger attacks and cognitive fuzziness but otherwise good. I'm frankly amazed things have continued so well...I'm hoping this isn't just some long window that crashes at some point, as I believe that happens to some people! How are you doing? xxx

I think I've dipped back into some sort of wave - it's not as severe as previous waves but I've definitely noticed a dip in mood and an increase in irritability and rage. Happy days.

I've had dreadful long waves and tiny windows since I CT'd last June/July. I've just come out of a long window that lasted weeks and gone into a wave that's not nice but nowhere near as horrible as the ones I had a few months ago. I hope that helps give you a bit of hope x

Thank you, yes, it does. The hope is hard to find on the really tough days.

When I look back, I can see that I'm improving, but I'm still fairly incapacitated as far as being able to work and participate in day to day stuff, so life is still really challenging. Just trying to keep my chin up ...

Well my wave has got worse. DP/DR, depression, nasty morning cortisol spikes, and anhedonia. At this point though I know it’ll pass so I’m just taking it as it comes, accepting it and being super gentle with myself. The whole Ukraine situation hasn’t helped. It makes one feel very helpless and down!
Wishing everyone well xx

@Kat66

You had a good break. I am sure this wave will pass quicker then the last one.....

I just went through a nasty bout of depression.......So hard to not let the disappointment take over.  You are right we have to take it as it comes and stay in the moment/day.

You are doing amazingly well, great attitude...♥️
