Moderator Frogie Posted January 24, 2022 Moderator Share Posted January 24, 2022 @Nowwhat How many times did you take the klonapin? You can become dependent on it in 2 weeks, even taking it 2 or 3 times a week. That's why I'm asking. PREVIOUS medications and discontinuations: Have been on medications since 1996. Valium, Gabapentin, Lamictal, Prilosec and Zantac from 2000 to 2015 with a fast taper by a psychiatrist. Liquid Lexapro Nov, 2016 to 31-March, 2019 Lexapro free!!! (total Lexapro taper was 4 years-started with pill form) ---CURRENT MEDICATIONS:Supplements:Milk Thistle, Metamucil, Magnesium Citrate, Vitamin D3, Levothyroxine 25mcg, Vitamin C, Krill oil. Xanax 1mg 3x day June, 2000 to 19-September, 2020 Went from .150 grams (average weight of 1 Xanax) 3x day to .003 grams 3x day. April 1, 2021 went back on 1mg a day. Started tapering May 19, 2023. July 28, 2023-approximately .87mg. Dr. fast tapered me at the end and realized he messed up. Prescribe it again and I am doing "slower than a turtle" taper. 19-September, 2020 Xanax free!!! (total Xanax taper was 15-1/2 months-1-June, 2019-19-September, 2020) I am not a medical professional. The suggestions I make are based on personal experience. Link to comment

Nowwhat
I have been sitting at100mg of Zoloft for almost 6 months. I am wondering when would it be recommended to try and start to taper? I feel like any symptoms I am experiencing are just uncomfortable and fairly predictable. I am not symptom free but mild. I was thinking of a5% drop and hold for six weeks to see how it goes. Any thoughts would be appreciated 1996 started Paxil for anxiety 2012 20mg reduced to 10mg 2 week period went back up to 20 March2021 dropped from 20-15mg held 2 weeks dropped 2.5mg held 4weeks back to 20mg July 3 2021 dropped 10% 2mg held 2 weeks July 17 2021 dropped 1.8mg held 2 weeks july 31 2021 dropped 1mg August 3 2021 raised 1mg Held until august 20 2021 raised back to 20mg current dose 20mg dr. I am not symptom free but mild. It is generally better to hold for longer than to risk reducing too soon. If you make a reduction whilst you are not stable, your current "manageable" symptoms might become unmanageable. And if this happens it might take a long time for things to settle. Some members have had this happen and they never get back to how they were before. We have SA members who have tried to taper too quickly and it has ended up taking them longer and some of them have ended up on an additional drug which then has be tapered. And when you do decide to taper you might consider doing a test reduction of only 1% to make sure that you are stable enough to commence tapering. Gingersdoitbetter
I’m kind of in the same spot as you. I was switched from pax to Zoloft 9 months ago. After coming off Paxil and going back on and reducing. About a month or 2 ago I tried a 5% decrease and it was too much and I had to go back up. My system was still too disregulated to even handle that. So I’m holding again for a while. That was just my experience but we have a similar drug history. 30mg paroxetine 2002- September 2020. Tapered from 30mg to 0 from September 2020 - December 20, 2020 January 4, 2021 reinstated 10mg Paroxetine March 4th , 2021 tapered to 9mg Paroxetine April 4th , 2021 tapered to 8.1mg Paroxetine May 13 stopped Paroxetine and started 25mg Sertraline May 26 increased to 50mg Sertraline Early July increased to 75mg Sertraline Link to comment
Nowwhat
I've been on 100mg pill sertraline for 8 months. I just received prescription for liquid form. It is recommended to switch to liquid full strength for a time before trying any reduction, correct? 1996 started Paxil for anxiety 2012 20mg reduced to 10mg 2 week period went back up to 20 March2021 dropped from 20-15mg held 2 weeks dropped 2.5mg held 4weeks back to 20mg July 3 2021 dropped 10% 2mg held 2 weeks July 17 2021 dropped 1.8mg held 2 weeks july 31 2021 dropped 1mg August 3 2021 raised 1mg Held until august 20 2021 raised back to 20mg current dose 20mg dr.
