Kovacks
Hey, I took paliperidone 13.5 months ago and I think the brain damage was just undeniable. Which is sad. The reason I am writing here is because I pretty much just wanted to state that I feel like a part of my brain is missing july 21 and july 28 / 2020 the two loading doses of paliperidone Link to comment
Moderator Emeritus getofflex Posted September 16, 2021 Moderator Emeritus Share Posted September 16, 2021 (edited) Hello, and welcome to SA. We are a peer owned and run forum of people who have been or are getting off of psychiatric drugs. I'm very sorry to hear that you have been damaged by paliperidone. How long ago did you stop taking it? Did you stop cold turkey or taper? Can you please give us specific information about your drug history for all drugs you are on and have been on, especially for the past 18-24 months? It would be especially helpful to have the details of your drugs in a concise list (no symptoms), only drug names, specific dates (as best you can say for example early March if you don't recall the day) and dosages of each medication decrease or increase. Please read the link below for instructions. This will allow us to give you the best guidance. How to List Drug History in Signature Here is some information about how these drugs actually work. How Psychiatric Drugs Remodel Your Brain This helps you understand what withdrawal syndrome is: Video on Recovery from Psych Drugs What is Happening in Your Brain Also, as we are recovering, we suggest keeping things slow, simple, and stable. Keep it Simple, Slow, and Stable Here are some techniques to cope with symptoms: Non Drug Ways to Cope with Withdrawal Symptoms We don't suggest many supplements, but 2 that many of us find helpful are magnesium and omega-3 fish oil. Here are the links for info about those. It is suggested to add one at a time, and start with a low dose to see how it affects you. Magnesium Omega 3 Fish Oil I just want to encourage and reassure you that you can get better. It takes time, but healing can and will happen, as long as you take care of yourself, and avoid more mind altering substances and psychiatric drugs. Here is a success story of someone who got off of Invega, which is paliperidone, and Risperdal. The keys are patience, and time. I can take months or longer for healing to happen. Kovacks
i took 2 shots of paliperidone. how does this compare to other more time taking antipsychotics people's recoveries? i figure the paliperidone is out of my system now (its been 14 months) im trying to relate to other people but i just cant or im not sure cause i only took it twice. i got affected so enormously with only two shots. i just think that something else happened. far more adverse than what everyone else ive seen say what their problems are. july 21 and july 28 / 2020 the two loading doses of paliperidone Link to comment
Moderator Emeritus getofflex Posted September 21, 2021 Moderator Emeritus Share Posted September 21, 2021 I'm so sorry that you are dealing with this. Yes, the paliperidone (Invega) should be out of your system by now. However, psychiatric drugs cause changes in the nervous system that take a long time to reverse. I have no personal experience with antipsychotics, but I can give you some links to success stories of people who used AP's and recovered. Morgane: WD from Invega Risperdal Armorall Recovered from Invega Antipsychotic Survivors' Stories Shep has had a remarkable recovery, and is now one of our senior staff members: Shep's Success Leaving Plato's Cave Please be assured that eventually, you nervous system will slowly return to normal. It sometimes take a very long time. Please do not private message me. Only tag me for urgent questions about tapering and reinstating - thank you. ***Please note this is not medical advice.
