Moderator brassmonkey Posted September 24, 2021 Moderator Share Posted September 24, 2021 Hi ArielS- Welcome to SA. I'm so glad your found us, but so sorry that you had to look for us. That is quite a story, but sadly not uncommon. We have many members here who have only taken the drugs for a few days and had bad reactions to them, so you are not alone. What you are describing is referred to as an Adverse Reaction. Your body doesn't like the presence of the drug and is fighting it. All the things you are feeling are symptoms caused by that fight. The good news is that it will clear up and you will be well again. the bad news is that it may take some time for that to happen. It is impossible to predict just how long a person will take to recover, some do it in weeks while others can take months, but they do recover. Here is an article I wrote that gives more details about what is happening to you. https://www.survivingantidepressants.org/topic/23081-are-we-there-yet-how-long-is-withdrawal-going-to-take/?tab=comments#comment-492494 We have a lot of resources and information here for helping you get through this painful time. If you have questions just ask here on your intro thread. I won't overload you with things right now, but rather we can talk things through and get a better feel for what is going on. 1 20 years on Paxil starting at 20mg and working up to 40mg. Sept 2011 started 10% every 6 weeks taper (2.5% every week for 4 weeks then hold for 2 additional weeks), currently at 7.9mg. Oct 2011 CTed 15oz vodka a night, to only drinking 2 beers most nights, totally sober Feb 2013. Since I wrote this I have continued to decrease my dose by 10% every 6 weeks (2.5% every week for 4 weeks and then hold for an additional 2 weeks). I added in an extra 6 week hold when I hit 10mg to let things settle out even more. When I hit 3mgpw it became hard to split the drop into 4 parts so I switched to dropping 1mgpw (pill weight) every week for 3 weeks and then holding for another 3 weeks. The 3 + 3 schedule turned out to be too harsh so I cut back to dropping 1mgpw every 4 weeks which is working better. Final Dose 0.016mg. Current dose 0.000mg 04-15-2017 "It's also important not to become angry, no matter how difficult life is, because you can loose all hope if you can't laugh at yourself and at life in general." Administrator Altostrata Posted September 24, 2021 Administrator Share Posted September 24, 2021 Welcome, @arielS I understand you took 3 doses of 10mg escitalopram and 5mg buspirone and had an adverse reaction. Some people cannot tolerate these drugs and react badly within a few doses. See Adverse reactions to an antidepressant within a few doses -- how long for recovery? The symptoms resulting from this adverse reaction should very gradually go away over months, if you don't take any other drugs that aggravate them. It would be very unusual for such a reaction to cause uterine bleeding. With your other symptoms, it appears you may have a medical condition, perhaps an endocrinological, gastrointestinal, or gynecological problem, not a psychological problem due to stress. I urge you to seek advice from medical specialists about this, not psychiatrists. This is a site for tapering psychiatric drugs. How may we help you? This is not medical advice. Moderator Emeritus arbor Posted September 29, 2021 Moderator Emeritus Share Posted September 29, 2021 hello @arielS I'm sorry you're in distress. I want to stress, we recommend that you do not take any psycho-drugs at this time. Your nervous system needs to stabilize and recover. We don't suggest many supplements, but 3 that many of us find helpful are magnesium, omega-3 fish oil, and melatonin. Here are the links for info about those. It is suggested to add one at a time, and start with a low dose to see how it affects you. Magnesium Omega 3 Fish Oil Melatonin Please keep up informed as to how you are doing. They are told by the pharmaceutical firms that these pills are safe while they are not. You are going through withdrawal. Luckily you didn't take it for long so hopefully you will recover fast. It just takes time. I took cipralex too but I stayed on it for ages so I'm suffering now. Your case is simpler. In Shaa Allah you get better soon. Eat healthy, relax, drink lots of waters, avoid antibiotics and medicines if you can. And be patient. You will heal. Reach out if you need anything. All the best! Was regularly consuming alcohol as did not know I was in WD. From then onwards, hit with worse myriad symptoms. Waiting for you Hi there, thanks for your message. I will join the group although I'm trying to lessen my focus on the topic of withdrawal because it distresses me.... Summer 2016 - summer 2018: put on Lexapro, going from 5 mg up to 20 mg over the span of the 2 years (had visited shrink for help with obsessive thinking, was not diagnosed with anything in particular, just prescribed Lexapro 15 mins into first session) Summer 2018: tapered down by 2.5 mg every few weeks Protracted withdrawal ever since. 0-14 months began with a massive panic attack that landed me in ER, followed by prolonged anxiety, mental fog and a skin rash on my back. Was regularly consuming alcohol as did not know I was in WD. From then onwards, hit with worse myriad symptoms. Currently at 22 months and have electromagnetic sensitivity, brain zaps, brain fog, memory problems (especially name recall), twitch in right eyebrow, daily waking up at 3 or 4 a.m. with fast heartbeats and "sticky" negative memories, suicidal thoughts, rage episodes, temperature dysregulation, physical numbness & weakness, libido loss. Vasherr
This process makes us very sensitive to any kind of substance, be it drugs, foods, supplements, so if You want to try anything You have to take a very little dose to test the waters, like 1/10 of recommended dose to not risk making things worse Duloxetine 2016/17 - 30/60mg/30mg, c/t, light WD. Sertraline June 2019 50mg ADR Clorazepate June 2019 20-15-10mg for 3 weeks then sparsely until 2022, 2 times per month max and very low dose (5mg) Clorazepate Jan2022 10mg 5 days 2,5mg 2 days then off Venlafaxine June 2019 75mg ADR, 17,5mg, titrated to 37,5mg Venlafaxine Jan 2022 Covid, hard ADR on 37,5mg, reduced to 20mg ADR, tried ct, crash, Venlafaxine 22Jan22 reinstated 9,4mg, too low/ 01Feb22- 12mg/ 12Feb- 11,25mg/ 16Feb- 11mg/ 20Feb- 10,8mg/ 24Feb22-10,575mg/ 16Mar22- 10,46mg/ 26Mar22- 10,35mg/ 26Apr22- 10mg/ 01Oct- 9,9mg/ 13Nov- 9,7mg 01Jan24-7,5mg MAR24 Due to another sudden intolerance had to fast taper venlafaxine to 1,14mg Seems like all of this time I was in benzo withdrawal, because when I took it now in desperation to help it made me feel worse, tried reinstatement first 1mg, then 0,05mg both made me feel worse. arielS
Hello, anyone knows about the analysis of serotonin in urine? My dad wants me to do it, as he sees I have severe diarrhea, but why they say serotonin is good for brain (lying) , and then say if serotonin is too much in your urine or blood then it is not good.. Any idea? Anyone did it? 15 June ,buspar 5mg 9pm 16 June, cipralex 10mg , buspar 5mg 17 June, cipralex 10mg, buspar 5mg 18 June, cipralex 10mg, buspar 5mg 19 June zero dose Link to comment
