@neurogenesisHi, neurogenesis. I have delusion with my neighbor. Now my relationship with them is bad because of my delusion. In fact now, they're really  out to get me. It's reality now. So, it's not a delusion anymore I guess.  But I think I can realize what they do is on purpose, what is not now compare to I used to think everything they do is on purpose in the past.

One of the ways you can find out if you are really delusional or not is to up your dose to where you were not delusional

April 2020 Zuclopenthixol decanoate    quetiapine,sertraline 150 mg

march or april 2021  st john worth (highest strenght),nicotine

2021  tapered Quetiapine   once a month  reductions  300mg, 200mg  ,100 , april 50 mg stopped  Cold turkey, april st john worth

May  sertraline 150 mg, st john worth (highest strenght),nicotine, loratadine

may:experienced  symtoms i never had before treatment (intense delusion, intense paranoia)

Rehospitalization

Sertraline  150 mg stopped cold turkey during rehospitalization

Zuclopenthixol decanoate  depot injection (in june)2021 and restarted 400 mg,200mg quetiapine.curently tapering.On 263mgpw(taken 2x day)

May neuroplasticity help me finalize the taper safely

@hayduke hay, do you think geodon is more easier to withdraw than olanzapine as an antipsychotic?

I wouldn't know but I'm pretty sure they all suck.  May as well get on with it 🙂

You want to be very careful with any dose changes.  While I found a 'rescue dose', or temporary increase for one night, useful maybe three times during my whole taper, olanzapine is very sedative so it's quite a different proposition to suggesting people take more aripiprazole etc, which may induce more anxiety.

Even with the olanzapine, quetiapine etc those rescue doses might mean more akathisia for a bit.

It's really best to minimise dosage changes.

I think Horowitz talks about 1/40th of the starting dose being a feasible jump off point.  He also mentioned there is still maybe 25% RO around there!

I had been on a long hold down around there and was prepared to keep holding and slow tapering as needed.  You really really need to learn to listen to your sense of what your body is telling you it needs and take your mind off the numbers.  I didn't feel ready to jump and I knew it would've been a pile-up, so I just gritted my teeth some more and kept holding.

One night out of the blue my body just went how about tonight, and it was ok.  That's what you need to be ready for, and it's going to be a way down the road.

Listening to your body and its reaction to your dosage reductions is a discipline you will get better at as you keep tapering.  You're not a robot, a 2.5% one week might be laughed off but a different week it might feel as though you woke up inside a washing machine.  You can see a few very slight updoses I took in the graph I made of my taper.  Typically after holding for 3-4 weeks and going this isn't working.  And yet another 0.05mg and it resolved in a few days.  And after another hold I could get down past that snag.

Short summary:  the numbers are a reference more than a guide.  Your body's condition and your state of mind are your major guides here.  You might have sat at 1/40th for a month and be overwhelmed by anxiety.  Would you say you were ready to jump then?

Nothing tests your patience like tapering, but it's a great skill to learn all round.

https://duckduckgo.com/?q=geodon+taper seems like a few people are talking about having done so around the web.

I don't know much about this specific drug myself but am not aware of any reason why the usual tapering methods we suggest here shouldn't allow a successful completion.

Remember especially with APs, you need to be ready to address unresolved issues that the drug has been keeping a damper on, as you come off it, typically with some appropriate kind of therapy.

I didn't know of many people at all who had come off olanzapine ok but a lot more started coming out of the woodwork the further I got.  Cheers

hay, you successfully come off olanzapine. As I know, a antipsychotic that is really really hard to come off. This is already the best, top success story I wish to read. Geodon is not easy to me too. But I don't think Geodon could be harder than olanzapine withdrawal.

Usually comes in 1kg boxes here.  3 baths out of a box works well here.

For whatever reason maybe genes my body can't really get enough Mg but it's not the same for everyone.  Sometimes daily seems called for maybe twice a week others.

Another thing to take charge of in your taper, start with a bit, build up if it's going ok and as always listen to your body and make necessary adjustments.  Your body is ultimately calling the shots.

Try 15 minutes instead.  If you get headaches and diarrhoea, you've taken too much.

You can't really "overdose" but often a good lie down afterwards is in order.  A good sign your nerves are relaxing, which is kind of the point.  Many people favour this in the evening before bed.

Suggest a site search on magnesium and epsom salts, plenty has been written here

Cheers

As with anything if it makes you feel worse then it is too much.  It might have been too much and/or you soaked in it for too long.

When trying anything new it is better to start with a small amount to see how it affects you.

If you take too much magnesium by mouth it can cause diarrhea.  I don't know if soaking in epsom salts can cause the same thing but just be aware of it just in case it does.

It sounds like the epsom salt dislodged some stuff in the pipes and that has now caused a blockage.

It might be best to call a plumber.  Be sure to tell them that you had used epsom salts in the bath tub.

I tapered off Geodon. Successfully. I was on high doses for over a decade. I am 7 years free of Geodon. It was worth all the effort. The wonderful staff and members here at SA were a key factor affecting my successful withdrawal from Geodon.

I am not a medical professional. My comments and posts are based on personal experiences. Please consult appropriate medical professionals for advice.

I was started on psych drugs back in the late 80's. You name it. I probably was on it. Tapered off final cocktail 2013-2019. For Hashimotos and high blood pressure I take Levothyroxine. Liothyronine. Spironolactone. Hydrochlorothiazide. Losartan. B12 hydroxy. Fish oil w/D3. Bee pollen. Magnesium Glycinate.

So that means when i will be on 2.5mg quetiapine ,that dose might still occupy 25 percent of receptors? ,that s so crazy

No wonder i ended with supersensitivity psychosis from ct 50 mg quetiapine

April 2020 Zuclopenthixol decanoate    quetiapine,sertraline 150 mg

march or april 2021  st john worth (highest strenght),nicotine

2021  tapered Quetiapine   once a month  reductions  300mg, 200mg  ,100 , april 50 mg stopped  Cold turkey, april st john worth

May  sertraline 150 mg, st john worth (highest strenght),nicotine, loratadine

may:experienced  symtoms i never had before treatment (intense delusion, intense paranoia)

Rehospitalization

Sertraline  150 mg stopped cold turkey during rehospitalization

Zuclopenthixol decanoate  depot injection (in june)2021 and restarted 400 mg,200mg quetiapine.curently tapering.On 263mgpw(taken 2x day)

I think hay was talking about the 5ht2 RO. For the quetiapine or seroquel, on 100mg, there isn't so much working on D2 dopamine receptor(the D2 occupancy at 100mg is not high)which is the receptor that relates to the symptom you mentioned "supersensitivity psychosis". At 100mg, I think  quetiapine is majority working at H1 Histamine receptor and some A1 and 5ht2. You can read this.

Off Geodon since Aug 2022. Almost over 1 year. Thanks for everyone helps me here. Sorry for the late update. Also there is a interesting story, on about September 2023, 10 to 12 police came to my home, and said, "Hey, you have stopped all your meds, are you angry. Do you want to hurt others?" I answered them, "Never, Sir." then they left. I hope you feel better and better, Hay. New journey and New story is waiting for me, also you.

Please take extra care over the next year.  That is a lot of police.  I am glad you were able to assure them.

I would suggest taking things really easy for the next year or two.  I am sure my intent to sue my abusive family led to a stronger counter response.  I would suggest self care and taking some time instead.

Glad to hear you are doing well there.
