Parkinsonism

&MORE

I started having bad anxiety at age 15 and got hooked on porn. For some reason, i started getting really bad adrenaline surges and tachycardia (high libido integrative docs said i am an undermethylater (don't breakdown histamine properly and liver doesnt detox) docs put me on prozac to lower sex drive. Everything was fine then. Later i realized that getting sick after orgasm is an actual illness (https://rarediseases.info.nih.gov/diseases/10809/postorgasmic-illness-syndrome).

I stopped masturbating too much (2 times a day and only did it like 2-3 times a week) on 20mg of prozac and was fine.

Everything was going great but at the age of 20 i sprained my ankle and I couldn't play outside. I asked my doctor if their was something that could make me feel even better since I was going to be homebound.

She gave me effexor xr and i broke out in hives all over my arm and went into withdrawal and pulled me from prozac. I was throwing up hot, in bed for a week, and just out of it. She then put me on pristiq which i later figured out his the same thing. I took it for 8 months and was just ok. She then told me I could quit it cold turkey as my ankle healed in the winter.

I got really sick and was throwing up for a couple of weeks but I never experienced withdrawal and didn't know what withdrawal was because I was such as a low dose of prozac I never really got withdrawal.

6 months later during the summer i started to get brain zaps, throwing up and I couldn't get out of bed. They put me on the max dose of prozac and 20mg of valium. I stayed on this dose for a couple years but then weaned off.

A couple years later i heard about how vitamin definancies and integrative psychiatry could really help. I took all the tests organic acid, gene tests, hair tests, and more. I knew their was something wrong with myself. The so called integrative doc told me everything was fine and put me on 75 mg of anafranil and 10 mg of valium.

A naturopath I met said combinding l tryopthan with the srri's can give could results when monitored. I have taken as high as 8 grams of l tryptophan with the anafranil on 50 mg and it works but makes me very tired and fatgiued. I feel like a legal drug addict. I have tried everything to get off these drugs and can't and my nervous system is getting worse. I just want the chronic fatigue and brain fog to go away.

I have tried sam-e and other supplements and they have helped but they don't get rid of all my symptoms. I have even tried 3 day nad iv therapy and i don't know what to do (didn't work).

I am scared to go back on pristiq because i read someone committed their life after going back on it after withdrawl. I really don't know what to do and want to get back to normal.

I really appreciate your help.

Welcome @drek

I am sorry you are going through this and are suffering, but relieved you have found us. This forum is run by others like you who have been through and survived, or are surviving, the negative effects of psychiatric drugs.

Withdrawal comes in many forms, getting sick and throwing up is among them:

What is withdrawal syndrome?

Dr. Joseph Glenmullen's withdrawal symptom checklist

Are you taking l tryptophan now? If you are, and also taking anafranil, then I recommend tapering off the l tryptophan now. They should not be taken together.

5-HTP (5-hydroxytryptophan) and l-tryptophan

SAM-e (S-adenosyl-L-methionine)

Then you can consider tapering Anafranil.

Tips for tapering off clomipramine (Anafranil)

And Valium last.

Taking multiple psych drugs? Which drug to taper first?

Starting and stopping psychiatric drugs is bad for the central nervous system (CNS). Each time we start and stop it becomes more and more sensitized. The risk of a bad reaction to restarting the drug or starting other drugs or supplements increases. So going back on Pristiq is indeed risky.

About reinstating and stabilizing to reduce withdrawal symptoms

Aside from a high quality fish oil and magnesium, be careful with supplements. Your central nervous system (CNS) has become sensitized from psychiatric drug use and can react unpredictably. Alcohol, caffeine, nicotine and other mind altering substances can make the condition worse.
