Are you eating sugar? It can cause sweating.

It could just be your body reacting to the dosage also.

PREVIOUS medications and discontinuations: Have been on medications since 1996.

Valium, Gabapentin, Lamictal, Prilosec and Zantac from 2000 to 2015 with a fast taper by a psychiatrist.

Liquid Lexapro Nov, 2016 to 31-March, 2019 Lexapro free!!! (total Lexapro taper was 4 years-started with pill form)

---CURRENT MEDICATIONS:Supplements:Milk Thistle, Metamucil, Magnesium Citrate, Vitamin D3, Levothyroxine 25mcg, Vitamin C, Krill oil.

Xanax 1mg 3x day June, 2000 to 19-September, 2020 Went from .150 grams (average weight of 1 Xanax) 3x day to .003 grams 3x day. April 1, 2021 went back on 1mg a day. Started tapering May 19, 2023. July 28, 2023-approximately .87mg. Dr. fast tapered me at the end and realized he messed up. Prescribe it again and I am doing "slower than a turtle" taper.

19-September, 2020 Xanax free!!! (total Xanax taper was 15-1/2 months-1-June, 2019-19-September, 2020)

The nausea is not fun at all. I went through that the whole taper of my lexapro.

Have you tried a small amount of melatonin?

Not much difference. About 1 hour after dosing i feel more agitated. I think the zoloft has made my system more alert and I'm having some sweating spells and more anxiety.   I don't get tired before bed like I used to

I have tried melatonin but it doesn't seem to help.

I'm sorry that melatonin doesn't help, but it never helped me either.

Have you tried to shut down the computer, phone and tv an hour or so before bed? That can be stimulating. And try a calming/meditation app? That used to help me once in a while.

Yes.I've tried most of the suggestions .My bedroom has been blacked out for years cuz I was always a light sleeper, I have white noise fan to block sounds. Quit smoking 14 months ago cuz of the air hunger and found out it was anxiety from wd,and that  probably added to the wd trip.Try to keep my stress as low as possible, that's why I stay up so late,  that's my quiet time. I rarely leave the house cuz I feel so nauseous all the time and the anxiety is worse during the day.   I've noticed that in the last few weeks, during up dosing, I  don't get the late night break that I used to.  Before, I used to calm down after about 10 or 11 at night and would fall asleep on the couch watching tv .  Now I am wide awake and feeling restless but exhausted. I think the zoloft has stimulated my nervous system instead of calming me down the way it used to.

@Upnorth  I am so sorry you are going through this.........I too understand the panic and want a quick fix.........You are not alone on this.........Can I ask what kind of coping skill you use?

I go through horrible nausea with my wd.......Have you tried making smoothies with protein powder, fruit and some raw kale?   Do you feel like you are getting worse or staying the same with the reinstatement?  I also wonder is you are going through WD from the CT of your benzo.

I think you mentioned your  WD  symptoms increased when you stopped the benzo?

I wish I had an answer for you..

Please know that we care and want to help in anyway we can........You are not alone

I had 24/7 nausea with my Lexapro wd. I ate a lot of small meals throughout the day, forcing myself to eat. I ate yogurt, jello, protein shakes, peanut butter and crackers. Anything that I could get down. I drank a lot of ginger ale and 7-Up. It was brutal and I get it so much.

As weird as it was, I found something called Nauzene. It's over the counter at Walmart (is where I got it). I had a moderator look at it here and said I could try it. It didn't take it away, but it did help. I also ordered off of Amazon, Pregie Pops, I think that is how it is spelled. They are made for morning sickness, but they helped a lot too.

Maybe some of those suggestions will get you through the nausea.

Thank you greatful for the suggestions.  I'm also wondering about the benzo ,  I  think it did get worse cuz of coarse,  Dr didn't tell me to taper. So it probably added to the suffering. I feel I'm getting worse with the ri. Hardly sleeping and increased sweating spells.  I feel more agitated and intrusive, dark thoughts, depression . It's scaring me.

I used to get a bit of a break after 10 or 11 at night but I think the zoloft is stimulating my nervous system. I'd like to find something that would have a sedative effect so I could sleep.

Thanks as well frogie, I'll have to try some suggestions.  I drink ginger ale quite a bit during the day. The Dr gave me ondansetron, but after reading about it, I think that would be a  bad idea and would increase the agitation.  I'm so tempted to take 0.5 ativan just to get a break, but haven't . Any thoughts would be appreciated.  Sorry if I'm rambling,  the brain fog is making it challenging  to make notes.

@Upnorth  It is so hard to always know what is causing what......you can defiantly get increase anxiety from the ssri's and in WD.... The crazy thing theses drug do to our CNS.........What where you doing to cope before this new up swing in WD? Do you do any meditation?  The mind/thoughts can really make things ramp up.........Learning to sit in them without engaging in them is really helpful..............So hard but if you learn that your thoughts are just that thoughts.  I really know how hard depression and dark thoughts are......There isn't much more you can do  about it but try not fight the depression and anxiety,, and remind yourself that your brain is just trying to get things right.......Neither one can hurt you....... Unfortunately early morning cortisol spikes are very common.......You can survive them.......

Here is a link to Happiness Frequency:  Serotonin, Dopamine, Endorphin Release Music, Binaural Beats Meditation Music  https://youtu.be/LFGsZ6ythQQ.  I find it can help with anxiety and can be calming......You could try and listen to it in bed when you wake up, try and just follow your breath and listen or you can listen and say to yourself, okay anxiety have at it, there is nothing I can do so I am going to give myself over to you..... and let your body go limp and sink into your bed.   I use white noise on my phone when I am going to sleep......Piano and rain falling at the same time......Hubby calls it my elevator music. lol  I put the timer on and go to sleep.......(some times I put it going in the night and early morning  Oh yeah tell yourself that you are done thinking for the day and it is now time to rest.....It's amazing how strong our minds are but the can be trained or rewired with work....... You  have more control then you think.  Have you ever thought about a  weighted blankets......

Here is a link that talks about them  https://withdrawal.theinnercompass.org/coping/weighted-blanket

Perhaps you should decrease to 3.25mg, see if the pattern changes. The dosage change will take a few days to fully take effect.

@Altostrata          Yes.  I've been trying to take the dimenhydrinate (gravol) at the same time daily. Not sure how well it works.

If detox clinics were effective for this, we would refer everyone to detox clinics and close this site.

Suggest you decrease to 3mg. It appeared that reinstatement was slightly helpful at lower doses.

@Altostrata

Thanks Alto.  Kinda what I was thinking and was reading about it on this site.  Tried to explain that to my friend that this does not respond well to that short term treatment.  He said that they said I have "discontinuation syndrome " and they deal with that a lot.  Of coarse he's just trying to help, but doesn't fully understand.

I'm not second guessing your valuable suggestions,  sorry,  just feeling desperate and more depression lately. More nausea and throat irritation.

I will do 3mg .

I've  been reading about it on this site.  Does not sound like a good idea for ad withdrawal.  I already made the mistake of not tapering properly and don't think all the interaction with staff and others would be something I could tolerate.

My nausea and anxiety are  bad and I'm hardly functioning lately.  Just wish I could get some restful sleep.  I'm  feeling pretty depleted.

The 1 dose of ativan did help . Just wondering if you think the reinstatement would work as well.

Having lots of dark thoughts and pretty scared. .

Perhaps you might think of reinstating a low dose of clonazepam or diazepam.
