Moderator Emeritus getofflex Posted March 5, 2022 Moderator Emeritus Share Posted March 5, 2022 I concur with altostrata and dodgy - I'd stay on the 7.5 mg for a while longer. Having ups and downs in symptoms is typical in withdrawal from psych meds. We don't want to change our dose every time we have an up or a down, as this puts you at risk for further destabilizing your system, and making withdrawal worse. Sometimes, it can take several weeks to a couple of months for a reinstatement to fully settle in your system and do it's work. Also, a reinstatement reduces the symptoms, it doesn't necessarily make all the symptoms go away, but it makes WD bearable. Please do not private message me. Only tag me for urgent questions about tapering and reinstating - thank you. ***Please note this is not medical advice. Clematis501
Hi @Altostrata i have a quick question. I am currently cutting 15mg in half with pill cutter. I then weigh on scales. Sometimes one half will weigh 0.074 and other 0.076 or one will weigh 0.073 and other half 0.077. should I just continue to take each half on consecutive days as I would be definitely be receiving exact 15mg over the two days or should I be shaving slightly larger amount to exact 0.075 and discarding smaller amounts. Or are these small variations okay. I have Gemini scales and have followed this sites guidance on calibrating each time. However I do occasion find the scales still vary a little in their consistency at the far right number. many thanks C Nov 21 - started Mirtazapine 15mg 3rd Feb 22 - halved to 7.5mg taken for two days 5th Feb 22 - Mirtazapine stopped 19th Feb 22 - 2mg taken 20th Feb - 7.5 mg - taking daily Link to comment

Clematis501
Thank you @OldDodgy Yes the reinstatement definitely helped and I’m still stabilising. I haven’t decided yet about best method to use when I start to taper. So hard weighing up the pros and cons of worrying about accuracy of scales vs diluting soltabs and worrying about how evenly it has diluted. However I know many have gone before and will just have to decide and drop the worrying when the time comes!! Many thanks for the search tip too. How are things going with you?
