JSM11: Dry itchy eyes and Difficult Breathing

JSM11

Recommended Posts

I have a sever problem of dry itchy eyes.  It keeps me from sleeping and in constant anxiety.  Have been to two eye doctors and was told by one that it was a bacterial infection.  Had an allergic reaction to the eye ointment prescribed. Went to another eye doctor and was told it was rosacea on my eyelids and definitely not an infection. Still waiting for the meds for this.   My eyebrows itch a bit but not a problem. Can't rub my eyes as it make them worse.  I would like to know what I can do for this on my withdrawal journey.

Many on the Lyrica survivors group said it was a bad problem, but did not see any suggestions other than itchy eye drops with out preservatives, which made me worse.  I use eye drops and a warm compress twice daily.  They help but still leave me with my eyes closed most of the day and still itching.  Now my eyes are sensitive to light and can't do much of anything liker listen to music as my anxiety gets worse.  All I have done is sit and think about my problem.  I am so tired of all this thinking.

I came over from the Lyrica face book page.  I am looking for help with my dry itchy eyes.  I have done a search but did not find anything.  This problem is driving me nuts and keeping me from sleeping.  I hope someone has some good suggestions.  I use preservative free eyedrops, a warm compress and keep my eyes closed a lot.  This helps some.  Went to two doctors and was told it was an eyelid infection and the other said it was rosacea.  What they prescribed would have made me worse.

Desperate to find some relief from my dry itchy eyes and difficult breathing. Also have dry nose, and dry mouth.  Been to two eye doctors which were of no help.  Been to ER four times and a cardiologist 4 times. Had an angiogram that I did not need due to a false positive stress test.  Had an endoscopy. Have some acid reflex but it is under control. During the endoscopy had an a fib and went back to the emergency room. The two things I really need help with are the dry itchy eyes and the difficult breathing.  I use a heating pad to help with the difficult breathing but at times it can lead to a hot flash and sometimes it does not work. Know I am not suffocating because oxygen level is 98% but my brain thinks I am suffocating because it feels like COPD. So I have an argument with myself and the panic attack wins.  Had a PLT which showed no lung disorders.  Lots of blood tests.  The breathing is not a heart issue or a lung issue.  That leaves it as a withdrawal issue. Did all that before I discovered the survivors of Lyrica face book page so was quite ignorant of pregabalin withdrawal symptoms.  Hope I have not violated any rules with this post.  It is hard to read everything when I can barely keep my eyes open. Cold turkey stop of Pregabalin 7 months ago as suggest by my doctor.  I appreciate any help and suggests anyone would like to make.  Warm regards to everyone who reads this post.

I moved this to your Introduction page. We ask that each member only have one so we can keep all your information together.

Unfortunately, a dry mouth, dry itchy eyes and shortness of breath are all wd related symptoms.

You could try some saline eye drops to keep your eyes moist and maybe hard candies for your dry mouth.

Take some deep breaths in and out for your shortness of breath. That could help also.

As long as you have had everything checked and all the dr.'s say everything is ok, I would just try to distract from these symptoms until they subside.
