We have carefully explained several times that you need to taper olanzapine. If you got worse symptoms since you quit it, if I were you, I'd take 1mg olanzapine. You can do this by making a liquid or getting one from a compounding pharmacy, as described in Tips for tapering off olanzapine (Zyprexa)

If you keep going on and off psychiatric drugs, you probably will continue to make yourself feel worse. We can't stop you from doing that. Your nervous system and brain are not made of rubber, they need stability to work properly. That is why we advise very carefully going off drugs, so as not to upset your nervous system and brain.

I am carefully tapering and have listened to the advice. I am doing 10% per month but it is not helping. When I tapered too fast I didn’t know about this site and the ramifications of doing so.
When I originally came off the olanzapine I had some stomach issues but my health has deteriorated over the last few months and I am terrified this is my life now. I am really struggling as a human being to be a dad to my kids. I was just asking if there was anything that might help with the fatigue, stress, worry.

So my fatigue Continues to get worse, I’ve now become sensitive to electricity and it seems as though there is no escape from this withdrawal.

I have to try and do some things to try and prevent from becoming bedbound I wondered about hyperbaric oxygen. I’ve had a little bit about this on this site. I know my brain and nervous system are in a fragile State but I have to try some vitamins et cetera to increase my energy

Hi, I have been on olanzapine for nearly a year but previously for 7 years.
I was on 20mg I then went down to 10mg then five then 2.5mg.  I know I have done this too quickly but it has had some nasty side effects and I just want off.
I also have M.E./CFS which confuses the impact of withdrawal.  Upon reflection, since I have been trying to get of olanzapine, my energy has become horrendous and my other M.E symptoms have become increasingly severe. I am full of anxiety like I have never had before
I am not sure what to do as it seems as though my body and brain are experiencing some awful withdrawal even though I am still taking the medication. I am wondering if I should go up to 20mg, stabilise and the reduce at 10% per month?
I cannot live feeling this poorly and I have read that some people never recover from olanzapine withdrawal.
I hate this drug as it has taken away so much from me.
Although I really want off this drug, I am worried that even if I increase the dose, my body will not recover.
Symptoms I am having:

fatigue, skin ‘burning’, sweating/ night sweats, terrible anxiety, stomach burning, headaches, inflammation

No they haven’t. I have tapered too fast and I didn’t recognise the signs. I thought it was just my M.E.

This has taken me into a crisis and I am terrified that I have done irreparable damage to myself.
I feel so unwell, fatigued, my body feels that it is burning, my skin is inflamed, my brain hurts, my stomach feels as though it is burning as are my muscles.
I started decreasing around 8 months ago and have become increasingly unwell. I feel I will never get over this

I sympathise with you, it is hard. When you feel what these meds are doing to your body, you just want them out of your system asap. I’ve felt that many times and unfortunately gone for fast tapers as well as cold turkeys. I’ve learnt the hard way (horrible symptoms)… it’s a slow path to recovery.

There's so much useful information on this forum. The general advice is to taper 10% month to month depending on how you feel. There’s many things to take into account too, for example the medications half life, how you’re feeling after lowering a dose and what’s happening in your life at the time.

I personally would reinstate at a dose that I felt stable on, then I’d stay on that a while to help the nervous system regulate. At least 3 months. Then I’d lower 10% see how I feel and go from there.

Whatever you decide I hope it works out the best for you.
