Moderator Emeritus getofflex Posted July 14, 2022 Moderator Emeritus Share Posted July 14, 2022 You reinstated to a higher dose than what we on this site suggest. We usually suggest about a 0.5 mg reinstatement for Lexapro. If your dizziness if not severe, I would suggest waiting a few weeks, and then doing a reduction of your Lexapro. How bad is your dizziness? Are you able to function OK in your day to day life? Do you still have the reduced appetite? Please do not private message me. Im having the same side effects that i had before quitting I'm confused by your account. If you're getting the same old adverse effects from 2.5mg Lexapro, we suggest you reduce it to reduce the adverse effects. Since you've been taking 2.5mg Lexapro only since July 2, it's unlikely you will get serious withdrawal symptoms from lowering the dose. The longer you wait, the more likely withdrawal symptoms. If you don't want to lower the dose, you'll have to cope with the adverse effects. I believe I've explained this before. I'm not going to explain it again. It's your decision. On day 4 you might feel better than you did on the previous days, but because you still feel awful you don't notice/remember that you don't have a headache any more or that you don't need to take paracetomol for the aches you had. Moderator Emeritus ChessieCat Posted October 14, 2022 Moderator Emeritus Share Posted October 14, 2022 There is no way we can predict when a person will be okay to drink alcohol without issue; it is going to depend on how your nervous system recovers as well as other factors in a person's life, eg life stressors, health/sickness etc. Regarding antibiotics, if you have a proven infection (ie a blood test or other test has confirmed that there is definitely a bacterial infection; viruses cannot be treated with antibiotics) then generally it would be necessary to be treated with an antibiotic otherwise you might end up with a larger issue and therefore need more or stronger antibiotics. However you do need to be careful what type of antibiotic is taken; see the link in the below quote. This information is in the link I provided above. On 7/6/2020 at 5:50 AM, brassmonkey said: Drinking alcohol is a major factor in excellent recoveries getting derailed. We just had a case of a member who has been drug free for several years with an excellent recovery underway. They had a couple of drinks over the weekend and tripped off their symptoms all over again. Luckily, it cleared in a few days, but that is not always the case. We have also found that doing a course of antibiotics can trigger a wave, as can the addition of non-psychiatric drugs. There is further discussion on this elsewhere in the forum. cipro-levaquin-azithromycin-z-pack-and-other-antibiotics alcohol-wine-and-beer * NO LONGER ACTIVE on SA * MISSION ACCOMPLISHED: (6 year taper) 0mg Pristiq on 13th November 2021 ADs since ~1992: 25+ years - 1 unknown, Prozac (muscle weakness), Zoloft; citalopram (pooped out) CTed (very sick for 2.5 wks a few months after); Pristiq: 50mg 2012, 100mg beg 2013 (Serotonin Toxicity) Tapering from Oct 2015 - 13 Nov 2021 LAST DOSE 0.0025mg Post 0 updates start here My tapering program My Intro (goes to tapering graph) VIDEO: Antidepressant Withdrawal Syndrome and its Management Link to comment
