In order to meet new requirements for our software, we will soon be updating the site login to require entering your email address instead of username. This will improve the security of Surviving Antidepressants. This change will happen in one week on January 12. At that point, you will need your email address (along with your password) in order to access the site.

Apologies for the delay in getting this set up, but it's all set now. Please use your email address and not your username when logging into the site.

Please welcome MerryJayneFriday and MrHappy to our fine group of Moderators.

Both are new to our community, and come to us from experience with withdrawal groups on Facebook.

MerryJayneFriday is from the now-closed Lyrica Survivors Facebook group, some members coming here. She was put on a slew of psychotropics after back surgery. She tapered pregabalin (Lyrica) over 4 years and has a story to tell about pain drugs, too.

MrHappy moderated  in the Facebook group Cymbalta Hurts Worse for 2 years. He has a long history with antidepressants and a difficult, still ongoing, taper of duloxetine.

Thank you guys for coming on to help.

Yay!!!  Party hats.

2022 May- continuing with limited activity on site, just something I need to do right now

Started with psycho meds/psychiatric care circa 1988.  In retrospect, and on contemplation, situational overwhelm.

Rounding up to 30 years of medications(30 medication trials, poly-pharmacy maximum was 3 at one time).

5/28/2015-off Adderal salts 2.5mg. (I had been on that since hospital 10/2014)

12/2015---just holding, holding, holding, with trileptal/oxcarb at 75 mg. 1/2 tab at hs.  My last psycho med ever!  Tapered @ 10% every 4 weeks, sometimes 2 weeks to

2016 Dec 16 medication free!!

Longer signature post here, with current supplements.

Herb and alcohol free since 5/15/2016.  And.....I quit smoking 11/2021. Lapsed.  Redo of quit smoking 9/28/2022.  Can you say Hallelujah?(took me long enough)💜

None of my posts are intended as medical advice.  Please discuss any decisions about your medical care with a knowledgeable medical provider.  My success story:  Blue skies ahead, clear sailing

For Australian members:

17 hours ago, JanCarol said:

I just got notified via Crikey of a number of medication shortages in Australia.  When I look at the list:
https://apps.tga.gov.au/Prod/msi/search?shortagetype=All

I see that a number of them are benzos, neuroleptics  anti-seizure drugs ("mood stabilisers") and SSRI/SNRI's & tricyclics.  You can look up your drugs and see when they are expected to receive stock - for example - Zyprexa, Lamictal & amitriptyline are not expected to be in before mid December, and lorazepam (Ativan) is not expected to be restocked until next February!!!!

For those of us trying to come off these drugs safely - this could be critical information.  I heard so many stories with the bushfires and COVID - of people running out of their drugs and being thrown into withdrawal.

Check your stocks, I know that our authoritarian government only likes to give out 30 days of medication at a time. . .

Just reposting this just in case you missed it.

I didn't see it before because there were so many links in that post and I only noticed the Conversation with Brooke.  I've reformatted the original post so that it is easier to see.

Please note that Surviving Antidepressants.org will temporarily close to new members starting today. We will re-open in January 2023.

Current members will still be active and have full access to the site.

SurvivingAntidepressants.org staff has been overwhelmed by an influx of new members and many of our staff are unable to help out due to their own withdrawal or life circumstances.

Please do what you can to help other members and the mentors and moderators. Thank you.

Please welcome concerned to our Moderator team.

Concerned is currently tapering Zyprexa and has dealt with the complexity of polypharmacy earlier in his journey to be free of these drugs. We've been impressed by a number of thoughtful posts and look forward to him joining as a moderator.
