Alto. I think I may have identified the cause of my insomnia: 3 nights ago I had drunk 2 strong coffees with a friend, 2 nights ago the coffee enema daytime and yesterday I had a holistic massage for an hour with all the oils. I just checked online and it could be a cause of insomnia.

 

I'm stopping all these therapies.

Ahhhhh....yes, the coffee could be causing your sleep problems.

 

You may wish to taper off coffee entirely, until your nervous system settles down. Caffeine is very powerful.

Coffee is my friend and foe. If it ends up being my final addiction, I guess worse things could happen. When I need to go off (like in insomnia WD symptoms) I go off 1/4 cup every 3 days, and that goes alright. But most people are probably not that sensitive.

I don't usually drink that much coffee. Am not convinced it is the culprit Last night I managed to sleep with sleep pill, tonight with nothing am having trouble again. Will see how bit goes v

I'm having horrendous w/ds including suicidal ideations.

 

I am now pretty sure these are from the Effexor not the Mirtazapine which I believe is a milder drug.

 

I don't even know if I am going to be able to stabilise.

 

Sorry I am at rock-bottom. I think I have ruined my life for many years to come. At times I don't even know if I am going to get through the day.

 

I am not sleeping either so can't even escape in my dreams. I so wish this was a nightmare I was going to wake up from.

I came very close to serious harm the other day. The doctor has raised my dosage to 15mg and after 2 days I am beginning to feel more stable and the suicidal ideations are reduced. I can't say they are gone.

 

For now I can't think ahead. I need to get myself stabilised and well before I think of the next step.

I honestly didn't mean to scare anybody with my last posts and please feel free to remove it if you like as it is too late for me to do so.

 

I did reach a low point yes. But I am doing well on the 15mg and feeling much better and also working on my mental attitude which is flaky at the best of times. This is important for my long suffering family - I just have to take the emphasis off myself for a change.

Or is it the Remeron? Is my dose too high 15mg. 3 days I waa bad bedore I upped but not like this. would adding Prozac help? I am so scared I am going to act on my thoughts. Please help

When you introduce a factor like that, it's hard to tell what will help.I suppose you might reduce Remeron by a tiny amount, say .25mg, and see if it makes any difference.

Look back at the many posts on your thread and you will see that we have mentioned many times - no matter what you do, whether you go up or down in dosage, you are going to experience fallout, ESPECIALLY since your CNS is incredibly sensitised.

 

Am I correct in assuming you jumped from 6.5mg to 15mg? If so that is a HUGE jump and I'm not surprised you're feeling awful.

 

I don't believe adding any more drugs to the mix will help.

 

I just think you've become a victim of 'I have to fix this RIGHT Now' thinking that hits us all when we're in a bad wave.

 

I don't mean to scold you - I have your best interests at heart. But I urge you to re-read your thread. If you do you'll see a pattern of behaviour emerging.

 

Angel, you are suffering from withdrawal, as many of us here are doing. If you want to heal you're going to have to find a way of resisting the temptation to jump round in your doses every time you hit a wave.

Yes thanks Basildev. I see your point. I have been getting the ideations constantly in the last couple of weeks no matter what dose and they are very hard to ignore. I had to call a special hotline yesterday to be talked down. Serious stuff.

I think you could probably do with some professional help to support you through this.

 

Doctors and psychiatrists only know how to fix things with drugs. What you need, I believe, are tools and strategies to help you recognize the 'withdrawal Devil' on your shoulder. You know, the one that says 'this is NOT okay! You HAVE to do SOMETHING to fix this!!!'

Thanks Basil. I don't have anxiety. It would appear that the ideations I am having are a side effect the drug and you are obviously lucky enough never to have experienced as such if you think they are merely due to anxiety or depression. And if you have then you must be a stronger person than I to deal with them and I applaud you .

 

So please don't judge me and tell me I need therapy because the ideations are very very real and very dangerous which is why the doctor raised my dose.

Yes, the book IS about anxiety - but it's focus is on showing you mindfulness techniques that may (or may not) help you with what you're going through in regards to the ruminating thoughts that are caused by the drug, be it a side effect or a withdrawal symptom. I use these techniques myself and I was honestly and genuinely trying to share them with you. My words obviously came across as judgmental and I hope you can forgive me for this, as it was not my intention.

 

I know first hand that your feelings aren't caused by anxiety and depression. They're caused by the drug - I know because I have them too. I'm struggling every day to get through the feelings just like you are.

 

But I think you're much stronger than me because your situation is far worse than mine.

Hi everyone

 

Just a quick update on myself.  It seems ages since I was last on

 

At the last count, I was having extreme difficulty getting off Mirtazapine as you will have read above.

 

I have an amazing doctor - he saw the difficulty and got me to cross taper to Effexor.  I am now 4 difficult months free of the Mirtazapine and feeling amazing.  I have started the Effexor reductions now with no ill effect and I have got my life back.

 

Will update when I am free of the Effexor.

I know this is an old post. Angel was able to get off Mirtz by cross tapering to Effexor. Would this work for others who are having great difficulty with Mirtz?
