I don't know if this spoof commercial is representative of SNL generally in 2013. If so, not very funny or even very interesting. Worth a post here for relevancy...

"Well my ship's been split to splinters and it's sinking fast
I'm drowning in the poison, got no future, got no past
But my heart is not weary, it's light and it's free
I've got nothing but affection for all those who sailed with me.

Everybody's moving, if they ain't already there
Everybody's got to move somewhere
Stick with me baby, stick with me anyhow
Things should start to get interesting right about now."

I really love sketch comedy so I do follow SNL, and yeah, it is totally hit and miss when it comes to being funny. Usually the fake ads are one of my favorite segments (second fave, after Weekend Update), but I was sort of offended. People really suffered from Paxil, and here SNL came out with an ad of Obama chugging the drug.

But really...Like, why are anti-depresssants/ benzos (almost always, Paxil and Xanax) funny in our media? My other favorite show, Parks and Recreation, has had like two jokes about these medications alone. What does it say about our culture if we are laughing about medications for depression/ anxiety?
