EternalOptimist
Thanks Altostrata. So I can maybe add 7 days to the 9 days and taper every 16 days. Came home on 15 mg mitrazapine, down to c. 10 mg mitrazapine in c. 3weeks, 7.5 mg in 32 days.. Tapered off mitrazapine March 6, 2014. Took .75 mg April 20 and 1.05 mg April 21st. Ended taper March 6, 2014. Take supplements tho not all daily: fish oil, Vit. C., Vit. D, cal/mag, little multi, mag at night, Been taking homeopathic remedy since June, 2014 via a Homeopathic M.D. (Trained in psychiatry). 1-12, 2018 put on 60 mg cymbalta; 150 lyrica for anxiety and 50 mg trazadone. EternalOptimist
Hi again. I must have had a Window mid-day yesterday ... by evening I felt a bit of the w/d-like or side effect sx return. Slept ok but awoke distressed from a dream and realized I felt much worse this morn. 5th day from last cut. Maybe I'll see a pattern yet. Mood includes fear, sadness, confusion and discouragement. I'm beginning to think combining mag and mitrazapine, tho I get better sleep, feel worse when I awake. Said a prayer for us all, hope it helps. EternalOptimist
Hello All: Have a question for this group re: severe head Sx. For many years I've had head pressure daily, from mild to severe. It worsened significantly in Xanax w/d and now again and worsens If I am upright for very long. Sitting is most uncomfortable due to this Sx. I lay and walk all day long. Seems moving helps when I have both strength And energy. So I have tried to fig out 4 over 20 years if this Sx that makes my life difficult Is from the Xanax, the c/t w/d or the CFS and possibly Lyme disease (or combo). Now with MIT w/d, I am forced to lay down ere I fall down. So, does anyone either relate or can shed light given your own experience or that of Someone you know! Thank you. EO I have a friend who was just the same! He had CFS and fibro, and was also taking benzos. I remember him saying he was tapering the benzo but couldn't be without it. I didn't know anything about them at the time, just remember him trying to get off them. He couldn't sit up either, we took him to a doctors appointment once and he laid down across the seats in the waiting room. He was diagnosed with hypochondria and it was awful for him. He got sicker and ended up in a wheelchair before he was diagnosed with CFS and fibro. He had also been on psychiatric drugs but I don't know any details, He moved away a while back and I know he is much better and back at work part time now so must be much better. **I am not a medical professional, if in doubt please consult a doctor with withdrawal knowledge. lexicon
Thinking of you EO .. I am saddened that you are going through distress .. Especially those unerving heart symptoms .. I experience those too, and know how frightening they can be .. Are you tsking any Magnesium EO? It does help to calm the heart .. Hoping that you will feel better as you lower your medication. Please know that I follow your progress, and keep you in thought and prayer ..❤️ Love, Lexicon Hello, I am tapering Lorazepam, and my daily dose is 1.125 mgs. I followed a long hold for 5 months, ( Nov-March 2019) hoping to find some stability, but it did not work. So I resumed my taper and hold pattern. For the last 3 years, I have been using a daily microtaper, cutting .001mgs per day, with holds as needed. Symptoms are head pressure, labored breathing, palpitations, abrupt surges of dizziness, this being my worst symptom for now, internal tremors, my latest nemesis, unsteadiness, anxiety, plus many other symptoms that cycle in, and cycle out consistently. Not a day passes, without grief I take no other meds. January 2013 - 15 day quick taper off 10 mgs of Lexapro, and 25 mgs of Sertraline, at a detox clinic. Link to comment

EternalOptimist
Thought I'd drop in with an update. I decided since my body seemed to do ok with the 5ml (water titration) cut almost daily since I'd only been on this drug a short while, I'd stay with that. Last couple of weeks I've felt hopeful again, enjoyed laughing a bit and cracking some jokes (my old self), looking forward to getting off the last bit with confidence. Last night was first night w/o and didn't sleep well (don't sleep great anyway) but this morning had intrusive negative thoughts and some fears. Guess it's to be expected? I am trying to refuse to go there, to keep up the gain I've made. This isn't my first rodeo with w/d and I hope it's the last. Any thoughts on being mentally/emotionally ok for weeks then a slip at the end of taper? Thanks You are all in my hearts and thought. Moderator Emeritus Rhiannon Posted March 7, 2014 Moderator Emeritus Share Posted March 7, 2014 Ups and downs throughout tapering are common. And by most reports the end of a taper is the trickiest part, as our bodies "see" the percentage drop more than the actual amount of drop. Are you saying that you have just quit completely? It's unclear to me. Best wishes to you. Started on Prozac and Xanax in 1992 for PTSD after an assault. One drug led to more, the usual story. Got sicker and sicker, but believed I needed the drugs for my "underlying disease". Long story...lost everything. Life savings, home, physical and mental health, relationships, friendships, ability to work, everything. Amitryptiline, Prozac, bupropion, buspirone, flurazepam, diazepam, alprazolam, Paxil, citalopram, lamotrigine, gabapentin...probably more I've forgotten. Started multidrug taper in Feb 2010. Doing a very slow microtaper, down to low doses now and feeling SO much better, getting my old personality and my brain back! Able to work full time, have a full social life, and cope with stress better than ever. Not perfect, but much better. After 23 lost years. Big Pharma has a lot to answer for. And "medicine for profit" is just not a great idea. EternalOptimist
HI Allo and Rhi: Yes, I'm done, quit. was fairly easy the last 2 weeks with tapering 5ml a night but last night and night w/o any med... today it's worse but better in the afternoon. course, not sleeping much, yuck, back to that. So, tho I came off comfortably enough the last 2 weeks, the last taper was the hardest given last night and feeling worse this morning. Wonder how long now for my body to be cleared/detoxed from this med? Thoughts? Thanks much. wulfgar
Hi EO I have a hard time understanding how many mg:s per week you have been tapering. I takes 7+ days for the full effect of a taper to hit and i think the first 3-4 weeks after a reduction is the worst before you start to se any improvements. Hope you did not go to quick and that you manage through the month without problems! Remember to pace yourself and be kind to yourself. Stress is the big enemy in mirtazapine wd. If it gets to rough, please consider reinstating a small amount. Very good luck to you! EternalOptimist
HI Wulfgar: How are you? As for how I tapered, I'm sure it's a bit different but worked for me, so far. I used the 7.5 pill and 100 ml of water each time and took down the dose 5 ml almost every night so the dosage of reduction changed that often. Does that make sense? I figured since I was on the pill a very short time and my body liked the reductions, I was safe to proceed. Now I'll see how it goes and I did get the refill so have it here in case. I get variations of RLS, and sometimes electrical sensations in my arms and legs at night. Magnesium helps me sleep when otherwise I would not. I have not found other benefits. Magnesium has not helped me with neuroemotions, and it wears off after 3 or 4 hours. I do hope you begin to feel better! WD related headaches and fear are most difficult.
