If I had the time and energy to do this again, I think a lecture format might be a better way to reach people. It's hard for strangers to show up consistently and talk about going off drugs. It takes time to build rapport for mutual support.


I would give periodic presentations about tapering, take e-mail addresses, and form a group out of that to lobby and educate local mental health organizations. This empowers people to taper and gives them a reason to get together and build relationships.
