The key of successful reinstatement is stability. That's why it is extremely important to be as consistent in your dosing as possible. You can't achieve that by cutting a pill.

I make my own liquid suspension and many people do so too. It's not that hard. have you studied the link on how to make liquid from tablets. If you have 10 mg tablet you can dissolve it in 10 ml of water and then use the syringe to measure out 2.5 ml. I'm not sure how stable Lexapro suspension is. The Xanax I make lasts for 3 days. It's very important that you master that. http://survivingantidepressants.org/index.php?/topic/2693-how-to-make-a-liquid-from-tablets-or-capsules/

We don't recommend switching to other drugs. I wouldn't do that personally. The way I see it is that different ADs actually target different receptors so while switching to another drug you might still be experiencing withdrawal from the previous one. Not to mention that this violates the basic and the most important principle of stability. The more changes we subject our CNS to, the worse it will be affected.

This seems like following your old pattern you describe in your signature: new doctors, new medication, and every time the end result is an even worse mess. As Alto say, our CNS is not made of rubber and you seem to have used its resilience to a great extent already. You were off the drug for 5 weeks. During that time your CNS was like a building the foundations of which were attacked and it started shaking and collapsing. It takes time to stabilise it. Time and patience.

It's your call.

Hi Bubble,

Thank you so much for showing me the destructiveness of my patterns. THIS is why I came here. Yes, support is also great, but it is mostly about being able to see through my own bulls**t fueled by the suffering. I should know better, it is just too much to handle sometimes and I make stupid statements.

Best regards!

2004 - I was put on Lexapro 10mg. After year and a half I felt good and stopped it abruptly with no problems.
2006 - I relapsed after highly stressful time at university. I was put on Anafranil (Clomipramine) 2x25mg per day. Stopped abruptly after 8 months, no withdrawal.
2008/2009 - crashed again due to highly stressful work environment. I was put on 2x75 Effexor and was told not to stop this time.
2013 - Went to a new doctor and was put on Celexa 20mg, didn't affect me well after 3 months, switch to Anafranil 2x25 for 3 more months, I was not getting better. Changed doctors again and was put on Lexapro 30mg/daily.

2014 - After 8-10 months on 30mg per day I decided that I wanted to try alternative methods as 10 years of medication led to nothing. Started decreasing 30-25-20-15-10mg changing the dose every 2-3 weeks. No withdrawal until jump from 10-5mg. I couldn't stay still, shaking constantly, muscle pains, vertigo, vision disturbances for 2 weeks. After a month and a half I felt well and went from 5mg to 0.

28 July 2014 - Stopped Lexapro. 6 days after the physical sympoms started, got better with B-Complex and Omega fish oils. 2 weeks after off the drug the anxiety and panic attacks started and progressed with the time. After 5 weeks I decided that something is wrong , searched for help/answers and arrived here.

4/Sept/2014 reinstated on 5mg. Too much for my sensitized CNS. Next day tried 2.5mg, a bit better. Problems with constant shaking, muscle twiches and trouble falling asleep.
25/Oct/2014 Still at 2,5 mg, Muscle pain & cramps, Insomnia, Eye problems (Light sensitivity, Eye dryness, Many eye floaters), Anxiety, Very sensitive to sounds, High heart rate, depression Oct-Dec 2015 no medication

Jan/2015 - now | New  Effexor 225mg, Abilify, Lamictal 100mg, feeling good, won't be making changes anytime soon.

Hello guys,

Hope you are ok.

Today I tried to make a liquid Lexapro for the first time. It wasn't too hard, but the solution was somewhat inconsistent. When I am mixing it (shaking it slightly to distribute evenly in the jar), there are residue particles left on the side of the glass jar. Maybe there are vials that are somewhat non-sticky or something?

First I put 10ml of water with 10mg pill, then added 4ml more to wash the residue from the sides of jar. Finally I took 4ml of liquid and sprayed it straight into my mouth. :)

Feel free to share your approach to this. I read the original thread about liquidizing, but couldn't find anything about 10mg Lexapro.

So, about my current situation:

Today is the 15th day of reinstatement. Even if there were some fluctuations, I was careful to get the dosage equal or close enough to 2,5mg.

What is better:

 - my anxiety is better than before reinstating (this happened at least after the 10th day, after I stopped reacting with panic to my physical symptoms all day every day)

 - anger is a little bit better

 - way less crying outbursts

 - I sleep better now. Far from before reinstatement, but I manage to sleep for 2-3 hours then wake up for 20 minutes, if I don't panic I can fall asleep again for 2-3 hours, which is much better.

 - my neck and back still hurt, but after 100mg magnesium daily it is around 30% better. Will introduce massaging when I have the time and the money.

However upon reinstatement the dizziness and head shaking hit me heavily. For couple of days I had severe shaking day and night as well as insomnia. It is still somewhat like that, but I am not so panicked. I felt like my sinuses were leaking non stop and the size of a hallway. I have the sense that my brain is shifting inside of my skull several times per day as well as like the feeling when eating a lot of ice-cream at once - you can call it brain freeze. On the 4th or 5th day after reinstatement I developed blurry vision and many eye floaters. Eye floaters are very annoying as I work in front of a computer screen all day. Unfortunately there is no other way to make money right now. I am very lucky that my colleagues are supportive as I helped everyone multiple times in the past and they are backing me up.

Yesterday, I found a psychiatrist and went to have a chat with him and ask for advice. He was somewhat knowledgeable even though he was kidding that I knew more than him. At least he knew way more than the previous doctors I have seen. I explained everything and also explained that I DON'T WANT to take another SSRI, because I don't feel depressed or anxious because of life. I feel bad because of the Lexapro. He explained that Lexapro (Cipralex here in BG) is one of the SSRIs that are least toxic to the human body.

I explained about the constant dizziness, head shaking and vision problems. He proposed that I take the typical antipsychotic Fluanxol (Flupentixol) to help alleviate the physical symptoms that I experience since reinstating. Unfortunately or fortunately I am too afraid to take it (especially after reading about the side effects). His idea was to stop the side effects and then go to at least 5mg and maybe later stabilize on 10mg (one pill). But Hell, if my brain/body can't accept the "medicine" on its own, why would I force it to do so? This seems counterintuitive and counterproductive Or maybe I am wrong.

Please, offer your advice! I think I can manage to stay on the Lexapro for a week or so more and see if things settle down, but if this is the price that I have to pay for decreased anxiety, I am not sure it is worth it.

Damn, my posts are always so long, sorry about that. :)

Hi Goldie,

i like how things are developing with you. As I advised focusing on improvements and not on the overall difficult situation. I would also say you are recovering very nicely and are doing well in not jeopardizing this.

Regarding your visit to a psychiatrist, I would agree with him that at this point you know more about withdrawal than him. This is not so hard since his knowledge as most of psychiatrists is close to zero :(

I couldn't agree more with your conclusion that a possible (but not likely) effect an antipyschotic might have on decreasing anxiety is not worth it! In a sensitised nervous system not only drugs but even mild supplements often have paradoxical effects. After everything I've been through, still going through and is ahead of me, I'm dead scared of coming close to any of these drugs let alone putting them into my mouth.

Also as someone who has suffered so much "at the of hands" of Lexapro I can't believe anyone can say it's the drug that is the least toxic to the human body!!! Has that doctor even read the long patient information leaflet with side effects or is his opinion on the drug formed entirely on the sales pitch of a sales rep disguised as a pharmacist that visited his office with gifts?

I'm far from starting tapering Lexapro so can't say much about the way you are making the liquid except the general thing. I make a liquid suspension of Xanax. At first I crushed the pill with the back of a spoon but then I read they disintegrate in water which they really do! It's incredible: I drop them into the water and just stir it. Have no idea is Lexapro is like that. At first I also worried about the distribution of particles but I make sure I stir the liquid well before drawing and draw from the middle. I make small 2.5 % and it seems the method is really accurate.

I'm not sure what you mean by adding 4 ml  to wash the residue of the jar... My maths is not good so I would do 1:1 ratio: 10 mg in 10 ml and draw 2.5 ml to get 2.5 mg. How do you arrive at 2.5 mg?

goldieloc, your psychiatrist believes that if a little bit of a drug is helpful, a lot more of it would be even better. And 2 drugs would be even better than one!

This is not true when one is dealing with withdrawal syndrome.

Hang in there, it sounds like your nervous system is stabilizing on 2.5mg.

If I were going to dilute 10mg Lexapro, I might put 20mL of water in a container, cut the tablet in half or quarters, and gently drop it in the water, letting it disintegrate on its own.

The particles you see are probably binder in the tablet. Don't worry about them. When you're ready to take your dose, gently swirl the liquid and draw from the bottom of the container.

This is not medical advice. Discuss any decisions about your medical care with a knowledgeable medical practitioner.

Hi Goldieloc, I read the entire thread of your post just now. Ifrom what I read, my situation is almost same to yours only that I never got the point of zero lex. I tapered from 10 to 2.7 stopped there due to severe jaw pain. then stayed there for 1 yr until June this year I had to increase to 3.7 due to stopping PPI ( a heartburn medicine which is believed to increase serotonin when taking together with SSRI) and then again to 4.5 due to interaction between a pain killer and lex. Playing the dose between 4.5 and 3.7 in the past 3 months with tons of severe physical and mental symptoms including severe pain, numbness on head, face, neck, back, blank mind everyday for hours, floating bright lights in sleep, panic attack every night ( when trying to lower the dose by as little as 0.05 mg. I'm on liquid ). The whole new set of symptoms I ever experienced in my 5 years lex med history, also the most debilating and scaring is the mental dysfunction since the increase. Im now on 4.2 for 3 weeks and the mental part df problems seem getting worse and last longer everyday. If I go up a bit like 0.05 I will get problems with pain and mental stuff plus blood in stool, extreame tender breast, high blood pressure, heart pampermam and if I go down the same tiny amount I got the panic, floating light, fatigue. I also thought of switching to Prozac for the hope to eventually easier taper but I'm too scared to make the move plus I don't think it's a good time to do any other changes at this moment.

What I think of your case is, if your brain is as sensitive as mine, the home made liquid error can be bigger than my smallest change (0.05), and that might be the cause of the symptoms, especially you are on an even lower dose.

being in the same desperate situation, I wonder if it's possible for you to consider to get the store made liquid. It comes in 5ml and a 90 supply will last you for 6 month or longer if you will go down gradually. I know its crazy even think of it, It happened my doctor ordered me 90 supply of liquid lex, but in generic which I can't take due to the jaw pain effect I got earlier so the package is still sitting in the original box. Again I know it's kind of insane to even mention it here for legal consideration etc. but decide to bring it up anyway. Everyone shuts me up if this Idea is too stupid and insane, even my whole intention is to help.

Also, if you are on brand name, generic gave me different effect than brand name.

Light stretching works pretty well with me on back pain. You may want to try it. Massage can be very helpful and in my case anyone at home can do an very effective massage for the needed soothing effect on the nerves.

I really hope you feel some relieve as it goes with the current strategy.

Big hugs and hand off to you for hanging there and continuing working! I'm too going to office everyday like a Zambia and amazingly can still get some work done even making presentations if I force all my focus. I feel I would just clamp if I give up moving on.

Big hugs!

Hello team,

My physical health is unforunately getting worse with time instead the opposite.
I was trying to enjoy nature with friends the last two days, but it is very hard do to so. Upon taking the pill, I feel very bad for hours. Dizzy, head and eyes are moving constantly. I get the feeling as if a knife is stabbing me in the back of the head.

My vision gets worse. It gets hard to look at a monitor even for a little while. I see eye floaters all the time now, also dark lines sometimes. My eyes feel kinda ok, only if I move or ride in a fast moving car. I feel ok considering the situation, not very anxious or depressed and eat well, but I feel like the reintroduction of the Lexapro is messing me up even more.

Since I started taking it again I have lost around 10 pounds and I am thin and athletic. I have recently developed oral herpes and swollen lymphs on the neck and behind the ears. This I get is due to weakened immune system, makes sense.

Most troubling is what happens If I go for a short walk, or If I get my heartrate slightly up - it gets crazy. It goes very high, very fast even If I am not anxious and it takes long time to normalize, which is about 80-90bmp. Pretty high I think. Until this month I was training regularly, yes I was lacking energy due to the previous reductions of the drug catching up, but I was able to run and do pushups, pullups, maintain somewhat good stamina.

Mostly a negative post again, but I want you to have the whole picture, so you can give me adequate advice. I know the reinstatement should give me relief and make the withdrawal more tolerable, but I don't know if I should feel so physically sick for almost 20 days already.

I will wait for couple of days more and If it continues to be like that, I think I should stop the pill once and for all, even though I am looking at possibly months of agony and years of recovery.

If there is some balance in the universe, I hope most of you are doing better ;)

Whatever you decide it will be your decision and you will have to deal with it. We can only share some experiences and information if we have it so that you can make a more informed decision.

It didn't take me 20 days to recover after I reinstated. It took me a few months. It's very hard to tell how many because it was happening very gradually but let's say I noticed an improvement after 4 months.

I also didn't compare my functioning at that time to my functioning before the unfortunate discontinuation. I was so relieved I stopped losing my mind and that was mostly enough for me.

We are sensitive to everything, strenuous physical activity in particular. And the meaning of the word strenuous gets redifined as well. As you yourself noticed anything that rises a heart rate can be strenuous. That's why we stick with walking. Some people can't get out of their beds. Going out with friends is major. Even if you can't enjoy it. Some people can't take a shower. I'm not trying to scare you, just give a bit of perspective.

As far as I'm concerned you are doing great: not very anxious or depressed, eating well. You don't mention sleep so I conclude it's also OK which is a big blessing.

I hope your physical symptoms start reducing too.

Thank you Bubble and Lex!

In fact I had a couple of sleepless nights again, maybe that's why my symptoms worsened. It is very strange, physically I feel very sick, but emotionally and anxiety-wise I was way worse in the past. It's like even the smallest panic attack is giving me heavy shakes and everything gets way worse.

I will try to hold on for a little more time. It's just that the heartbeat and vision problems are very unpleasant. I feel like the arteries on my neck are the size of a pipe. I will go to see the eye doctor tomorrow, not that he'll give me a remedy. I'll go to have a couple of days off work, so I won't have to stare at a screen the whole day.

I really appreciate the support! Hugs!

Goldie, are you still taking 2.5mg? Do you have increased symptoms shortly after taking it?

Good news to shed some lights on you.

Being on 4.24 mg for 4 weeks now, I had two days without mental confusion/black out in a row. Floating lights, panic, fatigue are also gone. Even the numbness and pressure is much less, only the pain on head, jaw, neck, shoulder back continues which is more tolerable. My observation is, on top of the increase of the med after a long hold, lex did something strange and intense to my brain, the other major trigger of the symptoms is the constant change (as little as 0.1 mg) made the things a lot worse. I feel you could see some improvement soon too if you stay on a constant dose for a while.

Hello guys,

Yes, I am still taking 2,5mg per day. I take 100 mg Magnesium, around 300-500 mg vitamin C and 2-3 capsules of Fish Oil. That's it, I stopped B-Complex as per your suggestion.

Some days I feel the increase of the symptoms around 20 minutes after taking the pill. It was worse the 2 days when tried to make the liquid. The Lexapro here in Bulgaria (Cipralex) might me compounded differently and I think the water solution is even more unstable than cutting the pills. There are some online pharmacies that ship 5mg pills without a prescription, but I am The last 2 days the dizziness is a little bit better, but If I stand still and watch at an immovable object, the edges of the object are slightly trembling. My heart is going crazy even from the slightest stimulation. When I am still or lay in bed It pumps so hard through my neck arteries to my head that I am shaking/resonating with every beat. I'm trying not to react with panic and I succeed most of the times.

I had a good night sleep today, which I am very, very grateful for (Around 7 hours, yey!) I was off the pill for 35 days, so I guess it makes sense to keep taking it for at least a month before deciding if I should continue taking it or stop forever. It looks like my autonomic nervous system is reacting in weird ways after reintroducing the drug. Most affected are balance, sight, heartrate, sometimes I am very cold, then I feel like I have fever for couple of hours.

It is just very aggravating as I have difficulties standing still, watching tv, reading, drawing and painting, but I can't go do sports or enjoy outdoor activities either. :) I won't give up though, I am just trying to be as calm as possible, evaluate the situation and with your help, decide what is my best option.

Hello again,

Checking in after taking my dose. I do feel more lightheaded and dizzy around half an hour after taking it, also pins and needles around my scalp. My vision also gets worse after taking it, very difficult to read black text on white background. :)  Also sweating after taking it.

I will go for a walk, so I don't concentrate on the dizziness. Talk to you later guys!

I got those too every day, which I call it dosing effects. Ive been trying to lesson them by taking the 4.2mg over 2 hour period which helps. It usually goes away after couple of hours most days. Sometime it is so intense giving me heart reaction. Massage is most effective for that types of pain. Also, it seems getting better after the brain is used to the meds (reinstate and/or increase)

Hello guys,

Today I was feeling very good until I took my dose again. Around 30 minutes after ingestion, tremor and dizziness started again. Also when I look at something for more than 2-3 seconds and remove my sight to something else I still see the text or image that I was looking at, even if I am not looking at it anymore. Every object I look at is a little bit shaky, like surrounded from blur/mist.

Physically I was feeling great, before reinstating the Lexapro. Yes, my anxiety was very high, I was aggressive and cried here and there, but It was better. But this might have been just the start of the symptoms, who knows...

Not trying to get you to say "stop it" or "change the medicine", just trying to keep a good journal. In the end I have to make the decisions and live with them. That's why I keep on writing and I am so tentative to decide whether or not I should continue taking the pill. It's been 20 days since reinstating and my life is like a bad "shaky-cam" movie that went straight to DVD. :) I am sweating like a pig, eye floaters are bad and I lost 7 kilograms already.

But hey, I am alive and I still have my hands and my feet, so I will keep on trucking! :) I was reading some of the posts here lately and there are so many people that I feel are better physically than many of us, they just gave up and it is like they don't want to be better. It breaks my heart and makes me negative about my own situation. So I try my best not to do the same.

Thank you and hugs to all of you!

Generally speaking, the idea is to just stay and stabilize. But I had those symptoms when dr. put me on Cymbalta directly from Prozac. Prozac stays in your system a long time, and I really, really felt the double dose of SRI. If after four days, it feels like too much you might consider a slightly lower dose, but the main thing with reinstatement is holding steady. You are right, it is your call and your struggle.

1st round Prozac 1989/90, clear depression symptoms. 2nd round Prozac started 1999 when admitted to dr. I was tired. Prozac pooped out, switch to Cymbalta 3/2006. Diagnosed with bipolar disorder due to mania 6/2006--then I was taken abruptly off Cymbalta and didn't know I had SSRI withdrawal. Lots of meds for my intractable "bipolar" symptoms.

Zyprexa started about 9/06, mostly 5mg. Tapered 4/12 through12/29/12

Wellbutrin. XL 300 mg started 1/07, tapered 1/18/13 through 7/8/13

Oxazepam mostly continuously since 6/06, 30mg since 12/12, tapered 1.17.14 through 8.26.15

11/06 Lithium 600mg twice daily, 2.2.14 400mg TID DIY liquid, 2.12.14 1150mg, 3.2.14 1100mg, 3.18.14 1075mg, 4/14 updose to 1100mg, 6.1.14 900 mg capsules 7.8.14 810mg, 8.17.14 725mg, 8.24.24 700mg...10.22.14 487.5mg, 3.9.15 475mg, 4.1.15 462.5mg 4.21.15 450mg 8.11.15 375mg, 11.28.15 362.5mg, back to 375mg four days later, 3.4.16 updose to 475 (too much going on to risk trouble)

9/4/13 Toprol-XL 25mg daily for sudden hypertension, tapered 11.12.13 through 5.3.14, last 10 days or so switched to atenolol

7.4.14 Started Walsh Protocol

Thanks Meimei!

I think I should hold for at least 5 weeks before deciding if the reinstatement was a good idea. It appears 3 weeks are not enough for me to decide, let alone 4 days.

Take care!

Another update for your . Still on 4.2. improvement continues, with. Pain/numbness lessoned more later of the evening. Actually got a day without them after 7pm. It seems constant dose is most critical.

I know everyone feel the same, even we don't speak it out lound. Saving lives is not an overstatement. The devotion You and everyone in the organization with equipped understanding and knowledge put in supporting whoever walks in with desperate is not comparable to all I experienced in my life including that from family and friends. I'm a Christian and pray to the lord for saving me from this dread situation. I have been wondering why I am not getting response until now I realized this is what his response as what you are doing can only be God sent. It's hard to imagine otherwise giving the great hearts it takes.

Hello guys,

Just a short update. Some things become better, some worse.

My shaking, tremors, dizziness and inability to sleep are better. I get really dizzy when I am tired or stressed, otherwise when I am resting it is better.

On the other hand my vision is way worse. I have so many floaters it's like I am seeing through a a cobweb or a dentelle curtains all the time, as well as many black dots. I have developed extreme light sensitivity as well, every stronger light is shining like a portal to heaven and my eyes hurt almost all the time. I am trying my best not to panic over it, but it is hard as my eyes are something that I use all the time when I am awake.

I really hope this is some side effect from the reinstatement and won't be like this forever as it would be very hard to live and work like this.

I hope you are doing well, hugs!

So happy to hear the improvement, Goldieloc!

Are you still on 2.5? How long have you been on the same dose lately? How about your pain now?

After 4+ week on a constant dose 4.2 since increasing from 2.7, my vision problem, fatigue, dizziness, confusion are under control most days but headache and body pain remains, two type, one is regular and constant and the other is the dosing pain-needlings and pins usually subsides later of the day. I feel the effect of increase / reinstatement (kind of for me, since i started WD after tapered down to 2.7 and hold on there for 1 year before this increase) is getting stabilized.

Again, I feel. Constant dose is the most critical for stabilizing symptoms from the reinstating meds. And for your dose that low, accurate splitting is the key to be consistent.

Hope your other symptoms subside soon too for a nice and long break

Hi Lex,

Yes, body pain is still present with me. I just don't mention it as much as the other symptoms are much more distressing. It's been a month since reinstating and I don't really see the benefits. I crashed badly upon reinstatement and things have been bad since then. Things have been worse the first 10 days, but this was mosly due to the intense panic from the scary symptoms upon reinstatement. Yes, many people say that it could be worse and I wholeheartedly agree, as things ALWAYS can get worse :) I know that much from experience.

It's just that I have so much problems with the correct dosage even when I follow the instructions and I am a pretty crafty guy. If I can't get it right at 2,5 mg, what about if I want to decrease? If I am so sensitive for changes of 0,1 mg, in the future it would be a disaster. I suppose it is due to the type of Lexapro that I am able to buy. I wanted to go to at least 5mg, but my brain does not agree with this.

I was trying to get someone from the States to send me a batch of the liquid version, but things are more strict with medication there, so it is not really possible for now. UK also is not an option. They have liquid 20mg per ml which defies the purpose.

All I know is before reinstatement I had anxiety and anger. Now, a month after reinstatement It would take me 10 minutes to write down just the physical stuff. My CNS was already sensitive and I think I pushed it over the edge. Right now my eyes are so bad, I don't know how much longer I can keep my job. I thought the anger was better, but it really isn't. It is just that I wasn't getting annoyed by anything the last two weeks. Now that I am back to work, things are messed up and I have important projects coming my way and the stress will be probably too much to handle.

Cheers!

My deart and thought go with you! I completely understand how you feel. Thats exactly how i felt when i increased and upping and down in the first month post the inc. Giving the level of sensitivity our brain is to the changes, I feel further change can cause even more danger. My symptoms eventually calm down in a zip zag patter since I hold on the same dose in the past month. The most debilitating part is the black out of the brain not processing any thing for hours. Now I feel grateful to have only physical symptoms mainly pain, numbness, pressure which is still very very discomfort but I can live with and take care of simple work. I hope you will reach this point soon. If its all possible, try to have a faith that it is temperary and will get better so not to be panic which can do more harm.

I constantly thought disability (in terms of work) and even death those days but now I know you will feel different once the symptoms subside. This thing impacts our confidence in such an intensive way making us feel so real. What pulled me through is the idea that I have no other options but hang in there. We have to be very strong to survive for loved ones even we can feel its otherwise easier for ourselves.

Did you try stretching and massage?

Hugs

Hi Lex and guys!

Looking back on my posts I see how I repeat the same things over and over like my grandpa, but I am just scared. Sorry about that.

I am looking for that magical true answer, that coming off the drug will be the better option or vice versa, but I know there is no such guarantees. I feel like the reinstatement messed me up badly and I am doubting my choices constantly, while trying to work and lead a somewhat normal life, forcing myself to eat and go on with the day. Every little struggle makes me a shaky mess.

Yes, I do yoga and stretching, as they are free. Could not afford massage right now unfortunately.

When I came here I was scared that this might take more than a month. Now I just want to believe that I will be ok eventually even an year from now.

I am extremely sensitive to everything, if I catch a little breeze, my neck becomes swollen and the back of my head and neck become stiff and hurt really bad, making it very hard to sleep. I sleep deeply very seldom and If I do, I have intense nightmares. These days I usually wake up like 10 times per night. Waking up in the morning and looking at the ceiling and seeing dots, lines and blur all across my vision makes me even more desperate.

Regardless I have previously decided that I will give the reinstatement at least 6 weeks time before deciding if I should continue or not. I had my fair share of impulsive decisions, so sticking to it now. I just hope at least my vision will return to normal, it's funny how this suffering will make you the most humble and appreciative person.

Thank you all for listening to my constant ramblings!

Hi Goldieloc, I'm very sorry to hear the situation is so miserable! I thought I suffered the most pain of all now it seems your symptoms are more severe. I had the same thoughts when I first started tapering 1.5 year back thinking I will be back to my normal self in half year after tapering per 5% reduction plan. Now I'm still in the dark and don't dare to hope to be out several years. What I learned from others and my own experience is, as desprate as it can be, that the battle can be really really long.

I hope our more experienced members chime in for thoughts for your current situation.

You can have someone at home do a massage on you. My sister does a better job than professionals.

Hello Alto,

It wasn't exactly CT, but I see what you're saying. Lowering 50% doses in 3 weeks intervals is almost the same.

From what I've read here and I did a lot of reading, I know it will take much longer than one or two months.

My concern is that I developed heavy dizziness, vision disturbances, sweating, insomnia, irregular heartbeat and terrible muscle pain overnight (upon reinstatement). All of these are present since the reinstatement. My Heartbeat is now 95-100 bmp at its lowest, making it very hard to sleep and rest alltogether. My vision is also deteriorating since reinstatement.

That's why I am wondering if I should continue taking the pill. I am still taking it daily though.

Thanks for reading!

Sounds like it's too activating. I would lower the dose to 2mg if I were you, and see if that helps.

Thank you Alto!

I will try for couple of days and see how it would go.

Sorry that I am being a hard case. I just don't think that reinstating should make me that much worse than before, makes no sense. Instead of stabilizing me, it is sending me into downward spiral.

Anyway, thanks again! Hugs!

Hi goldieloc,

once again, no apologies ;) I'm following what is happening to you and it is a bit unusual but it is hardly your fault. From where I stand things look a bit different: it seems that you have experienced improvement in some of your symptoms mostly those mental (psychological such as anxiety, etc. but there was an increase in physical symptoms.

Definitely do what Alto is suggesting but again, give it time and do it gently. Whatever you do it has to be smooth. You will know how the new change is affecting you only after 4 days.

Current: 9/2022 Xanax 0.08, Lexapro 2

Hi godieloc,

I'm following you closely too as our situation is similar. Glad to hear you again.

Just to share my experience. I increase to 4.5mg from 2.7mg 3 month ago been playing with the dose between 4.5 and 3.7 in the first 2 months getting a whole new world of mental, psyc, and phisical symptoms until settled on 4.2 for the past month still having lots physical symptoms but others gradually subside. I recently tried 0.05 decrease which still triggered my CNS with new or worsening symptoms so I agree with bubble that gradual change is something to bear in mind. The good news I do have much less symptoms than before and I believe you will see some lights too soon with careful and patient experiment.

Hugs

Hi guys,

Thank you. I am just very anxious and desperate about my eyes mostly these days. I try to ignore everything that is happening to me since the reinstatement, but it is getting harder and harder. My vision is getting worse day by day. These so called "eye floaters" are driving me crazy. I have the transparent ones from the first link, as well as large dark spots in the center of my vision, that I see all the time.

Of course, unfortunately I searched for information and everywhere I find information that once they appear, you are stuck with them for good.

What kept me going all these years were my hobbies as an illustrator and photographer, which I can not do like this. I have put so much time in developing my skills and was close to making this my career.

I had so many bad things happen to me the last few years, I really thought I was close to start living the life I thought I deserve.

I guess I was wrong again.

I will try to summarize all symptoms that I am currently experiencing as well as the doctors I have been to lately in my next post, so it is easier for you to give me advice, as well as direction for newcomers.

Thanks a bunch. My thread starts to look more and more like a personal journal.
