In retrospect, and on contemplation, situational overwhelm. Rounding up to 30 years of medications(30 medication trials, poly-pharmacy maximum was 3 at one time). 5/28/2015-off Adderal salts 2.5mg. (I had been on that since hospital 10/2014) 12/2015---just holding, holding, holding, with trileptal/oxcarb at 75 mg. 1/2 tab at hs. My last psycho med ever! Tapered @ 10% every 4 weeks, sometimes 2 weeks to 2016 Dec 16, medication free!! Longer signature post here, with current supplements. Herb and alcohol free since 5/15/2016. And.....I quit smoking 11/2021. Lapsed. Redo of quit smoking 9/28/2022. Can you say Hallelujah?(took me long enough)💜 None of my posts are intended as medical advice. Fast taper (essentially CT); withdrawal symptoms after 4 mos (didn't realize was WD) -10/07: 100 mg Zoloft; 1 mg Klonopin - tapered off Klonopin after 4 mos. Several unsuccessful slow tapers of Zoloft; went up and down in dose a lot -Spring 2013 back on 1 mg Klonopin to counter WD symptoms; switched over 5-6 mos from Zoloft to 35 mg citalopram -Two attempts at slow tapering citalopram, always increased dose due to WD; also increased Klonopin to 1.25 mg in 2014, then to 1.5 mg in 2015 -8/17-9/17: After holding one year at 20 mg, feeling withdrawal symptoms due to stress - slowly increased to 25 mg. No change in symptoms after 6 months (? tolerance ?) - decided to start citalopram taper February 2018 (still on Klonopin 1.5 mg). First attempt to get off it was 2007- WD symptoms were mistaken for "relapse". 2013 too fast taper down to 5mg but WD forced me back to 20mgs June of 2105, tapered again too rapidly to 2.5mgs by Dec 2015. Found SA, held at 2.5 mgs til May 2016 when I foolishly "jumped off". felt ok until Sept, then acute WD hit!! reinstated at 0.3mgs in Oct. 2106 Tapered off to zero by Oct. 2017 Doing very well. Nov. 2018 feel 95% healed, age 63 Jan. 2020 feel 100% healed, peaceful and content Dec 2023 Loving life! ❤️ with all it's ups and downs Link to comment

How was the rough surf from the hurricane? I love watching and listening to the waves at the ocean. Now as for waves during withdrawals that’s not so much fun! I guess waves are a great metaphor for what we go through, we need to ride them to the end each time and when they’re rough they’re certainly rough. There’s always an end to literal waves though, just like there’s always an end to our waves. It pains me to see people that are on a constant wave without any reprieve. That wave too will end eventually but it’s hard when it’s so long. Next week Friday, all going well, a friend and I are going to go the manmade beach in the city and chill there for the day. There are lots of cafes and restaurants there too so we will be having yummy foods as well. Sorry about the agitation last night, that certainly is a horrible feeling. All we can do is take an hour at a time and distract when in waves. We will there in the end n then it’s time to throw a party. Woohoo!🎉🎉 Rest up today, I’m still in bed but hoping to catch up with friends tonight. direstraits Posted September 21, 2018 Author Share Posted September 21, 2018 😟terrible night, my husband said something that set me off, the internal rage and shaking started,trouble getting to sleep,got up and took a magnesium,finally got to sleep ,woke again around 5 am feeling restless and obsessing about what happened,whining,a mess,fell back to sleep again til around 830 am. got up still feeling miserable and shaky inside and outside.crying when my husband left for work.just feeling like I can't cope with life anymore. Typical chronic stress body. I walked away only from lots of practice ,we were ok the next day .thank god because I had to leave and go home,i was visiting him and my niece .he has he's own issues but good for him because he's blind to it all ,ah well some have all the luck of ignorance and denial. Fast taper (essentially CT); withdrawal symptoms after 4 mos (didn't realize was WD) -10/07: 100 mg Zoloft; 1 mg Klonopin - tapered off Klonopin after 4 mos. Sending hugs🤗 Hi Carmie thanks for checking in. had a pretty good day...we drove down to Smithville,a place that has lots of shops and restaurants,they were having an Italian festival and were really crowded.we walked around awhile and stopped for a hot dog then headed home stopping for ice cream along the way...beautiful day.
