direstraits

thanksfor your post,Ali

I think this time of year is stressful for many of us, but not doing too bad overall.

I have an appt. for Jan. 5 for cataract evaluation, then will get surgery sometime after that...hopefully.

still have to get the financing straightened out....could get ACA for myself but still have to pay a 3,000$ deductible!

health care is a mess in this country...I used to have great insurance when I was working only part time and it didn't cost much.

oh,well...hope it all works out somehow.

hope you're doing OK,Ali.

love,ds    xxx

I went for my cataract evaluation on Fri. and the Dr. said it's pretty sever and he's not sure if he can get it all out but hopefully he can.

he also said I have a very mild one in the other eye but don't have to do anything for a while.

I mentioned that I had taken paxil and thought maybe that could have caused it, he actually admitted that that was possible though a rare side effect!

I was actually shocked to hear a Dr. admit this!

anyway I'm having the surgery on the 24th of JAN. just praying it all goes well and I can see again!

i'm hoping my other symptoms improve after my sight does...will just be glad when it's allover with.

Hello Direstraits,

Glad you saw your doctor and made arrangements to improve your cataract situation.  Keep in touch while you await your surgery on the 24th to keep your hope and spirits up.  I am pulling for you and wishing you the best.  What are your other symptoms?

Best wishes,

RealMe

thanks for your support and well wishes Real Me!

I've been getting some badly burning skin on feet, legs and arms and back lately...comes and goes.my feet always tend to be numb, that's been going in a long time.

I tend to get angry a lot, even rageful at times. :(

I guess that's not surprising after dealing w/this cr*p for over 3 1/2 yrs.<_<

still wake at night w/ anxiety/agitation at times but seems to be improving.

fatigue is improving....reallyneed to start exercising more to try to build up some lost muscle tone from being so sedentary from WD.

How are you doing?....I'll check out your thread.

best,ds

Hi DS

i just wanted to let you know I’m thinking of you and wishing the best outcome with your surgery.

I told you before, people I know have gone through it says it’s a piece of cake. Just hope they can get it all.

Damn AD meds. Wouldn’t surprise me if they were the culprit. My eyes have been hurting, as you know. Some days the vision is really bad.

When the surgery is over, it is going to help boost your moral and confidence and relieve the anxiety that this has obviously caused. So yes, it will relieve other symptoms. Best of luck. Keep us posted.

I had cataract surgery and so did a lot of my friends. It’s really not a big deal, and you’ll be amazed at how great you’ll see afterwards. it will be like a miracle.

Thanks. I went out in the dead of winter, looked at a tree trunk without leaves, and thought it was beautiful.

Ditto to above dear direstraits!

I think it is just a couple days or less until you get to see that it all worked out okay.  See(or will read your update then) you then.  I'm glad it was doable.

Love, peace, healing/inrecovery, and growth,

I went for my 1 week follow-up today and everything looks good....20/20 in left eye!

unfortunately still dealing with WD of course and today wasn't too good...felt really drained and kinda down, didn't feel too steady on my feet...maybe still recovering from the anesthesia ( contained fentanyl and I forget the other one).

well,at least I can see clearly. :)

hope you're doing OK.

thanks,Frogie...I don't know that I'll be fine, still struggle with symptoms but seeing better certainly helps a lot!

yes, stress is involved I'm sure...worry about how the drops might be affecting me but trying to stay calm...not easy.

I hope you can get your vision back ,too....and your thyroid taken care of....I've been taking thyroid meds since I was 23 but stopped in Sept. because the lab wasn't taking the discount card anymore ...Dr. didn't seem like she wanted to help...just felt fed up and I was only taking 25 mcg.

really haven't felt much different but I know I should get it checked again at some point.

I hope the glasses help too. We shall see. I hope I can get on the right dosage of thyroid meds. Only been on it not quite a week. But my skin is really dry, and I'm nauseous. I know it's the thyroid meds, not WD. I'm going to give it another week, and then call the dr. Glad you are better.

Take care,

Frogie xx

Hi Direstraits,

I'm having an unusually good day.  They always catch me by surprise.  I feel more or less normal except for some physical stuff.  What a strange trip this is.  Hope you are doing well.

hi ds, sorry to hear that you've not been feeling well. anesthesia can be rough on the body even when not doing thru recovery/withdrawal.

I hope you're doing much better now.

Hi DS

Thanks for visiting my thread.  I am sorry I had no idea you had surgery recently for cataracts. I really hope you are seeing better now and recovering from the anaesthetic and stress of the op.

The weather here has been very cold so we have been very much inside - can't wait for Spring and warmer days!

Take care and lots of love

I'm feeling as bad as ever ...can see better but my eyes still don't seem right.,light sensitive, burning, things don't look right, hard to explain.

feel so hot but rarely able to sweat....so weak, often no appetite, especially early in the day...burning skin, so tired of it all !

do you think the cataract surgery could have set me back....I'm so exhausted with this after almost 4 years and really wonder if I'll ever recover from it.

God help us.
