All my work is now motivated by the fact that I’ve worked with and corresponded with thousands of people who have been gravely harmed by psychiatry. The denial of the great potential for harm in psychiatry must end. The harming of so many innocent and vulnerable people must end.

When a doctor harms you there is the additional insult of not only having trusted but also having paid someone for the service of hurting you…this is how one is also traumatized, adding even more layers to the injury.

3rd leading cause of death: WESTERN MEDICINE

In these statistics lie the many thousands of folks suffering from disabilities brought on by psych meds too. The denial continues nonetheless…

WHAT is the third leading cause of death in the developed world? Given that cancer and heart disease top the list, you might hazard a guess at diabetes, stroke or car accidents. You’d be wrong. 

The answer is “iatrogenic” deaths – those caused by medical errors, adverse drug reactions or hospital-acquired infections.

 

For all modern medicine’s ability to alleviate suffering and prevent premature deaths, it also causes plenty of both. Sadly, many of the readers of this blog know this only too well. When these treatments don’t cause death they often cause disability. We have been harmed. I have been harmed. And yet, we are largely considered hysterical hypochondriacs who are mentally ill. Protracted withdrawal issues from psychiatric drugs that cause severe disability are widely denied and we’re left to fend for ourselves and each other.
 

Let us share this news in any way we know how with anyone who might listen that the carnage might stop.

*it is potentially dangerous to come off medications without careful planning. Please be sure to be well educated before undertaking any sort of discontinuation of medications. Just wanted to put this here...There are so many people harmed by other kinds of drugs.  This is a story about one such group of people, the victims of the drug Thalidomide and how they are not being adequately compensated in Canada.  It is a very upsetting read, I couldn't get through it without crying.  They can't even adequately look after people who have very obvious iatrogenic injuries...Is it any wonder then that we get ignored?

Also, there is a petition calling for the Canadian government to adequately compensate the victims of the drug Thalidomide, which can be signed by people in other countries as well.  I urge people to stand up for these people...
