Moderator brassmonkey Posted July 19, 2021 Moderator Share Posted July 19, 2021 That looks like the good side of normal to me. 20 years on Paxil starting at 20mg and working up to 40mg. Sept 2011 started 10% every 6 weeks taper (2.5% every week for 4 weeks then hold for 2 additional weeks), currently at 7.9mg. Oct 2011 CTed 15oz vodka a night, to only drinking 2 beers most nights, totally sober Feb 2013. Since I wrote this I have continued to decrease my dose by 10% every 6 weeks (2.5% every week for 4 weeks and then hold for an additional 2 weeks). I added in an extra 6 week hold when I hit 10mg to let things settle out even more. When I hit 3mgpw it became hard to split the drop into 4 parts so I switched to dropping 1mgpw (pill weight) every week for 3 weeks and then holding for another 3 weeks. The 3 + 3 schedule turned out to be too harsh so I cut back to dropping 1mgpw every 4 weeks which is working better. Final Dose 0.016mg. Cheeky
yesterday was difficult and its so hard when you've had a good day before, it gives you a false sense of hope. This last drop and all the things that have happened since has really taken its toll. My question is does this happen to people while tapering, can you find one drop much harder then another? @brassmonkey @ChessieCat @Songbird 1995 started Paxil 20mg slowly increasing to 50mg 2014 I decided to tapper myself not knowing how too and crashed , DR added 50mg of Seroquel Through the years made many mistakes tapering Started Tapering Both drugs at the same time 7.5% per month Paxil 9% Seroquel doing daily micro-taper Guided by Mark Horowitz 31/3/24 Paxil 10.31mg 31/3/24 Seroquel 9.9mg Link to comment

Cheeky
okay so an update last two night sleeps have been great, bed at 10.30pm and wake at 7am, I think that since I stopped vaping and wearing a nicotine patch I haven't had the need to wake up. Im proud of that. I have still got the morning aniexty, but I've been going for a walk everyday listening to Claire Weeks audio book and that helps me feel more positive. Hopefully Im recovering in the right direction. 1995 started Paxil 20mg slowly increasing to 50mg 2014 I decided to tapper myself not knowing how too and crashed , DR added 50mg of Seroquel Through the years made many mistakes tapering Started Tapering Both drugs at the same time 7.5% per month Paxil 9% Seroquel doing daily micro-taper Guided by Mark Horowitz 31/3/24 Paxil 10.31mg 31/3/24 Seroquel 9.9mg Link to comment

Cheeky
Will my stability ever happen? Nearly three weeks of this, there’s times I want to Increase my dose and be like I was, but in my heartI don’t want to give in to this , it’s just the unknowing of when I will get stable again . I’m sick off pretending to everyone I’m normal and trying to resume life like I’m not going through anything. I don’t want people to talk about me and think that sick mum that’s mentally ill. The hardest thing to accept is lose of oneself to something I had no control over. Tonight I’m weepy and just wish I could turn back time. I don’t want my kids to see me like this and don’t want my elderly parents to worry about me . I feel like throwing all my meds in the bin and tough it out for years, so at least I’m med free and my body can repair itself. I’m sorry just finding this hard to accept. Today was okay except very dizzi patches and felt like the floor was moving and tingling in my feet. If I ever get drug free and survive, I’m going to write a book and get everyone who experienced this to write in it and send it to every PR person I know. These drugs should never be sold. sorry 😭 1 1995 started Paxil 20mg slowly increasing to 50mg 2014 I decided to tapper myself not knowing how too and crashed , DR added 50mg of Seroquel Through the years made many mistakes tapering Started Tapering Both drugs at the same time 7.5% per month Paxil 9% Seroquel doing daily micro-taper Guided by Mark Horowitz 31/3/24 Paxil 10.31mg 31/3/24 Seroquel 9.9mg Link to comment

(is that kind of what you were talkin about). Of course this will make it harder to accept and harder to go through. Even around my children. They are all away from home. How do I say this without sounding horrible, I am sad and I hurt for you, but it is also helpful to see that someone is struggling like me, I am not alone in this pain. Don't get me wrong being positive and time is the what will get us through this. And getting encouragement from other members, those who are still in the middle of the journey and those that have found success. But when people don't share their pain as well as their achievement I feel like what, am I doing wrong, how can I be struggling so much more than other people, maybe I am to weak a person to do this. 😞 So what I am saying is maybe we need to hear both to feel to feel connected to one another? I also think it is good to let the pain and frustration out once in awhile. Release it to make room for the positive to come in. What's with this dizzy stuff. I have been dizzy for days. Maybe we are on the same wave? I will pass the baton I as I pass by. Cheeky
Okay update, I have been sleep better the last 2 nights and have had the morning aniexty, hoping the day willl go good . My baseline is overall better, I just seem to get the physical symptoms that persist, they come and go, numbness of hand tingling in my feet slight jittery feeling that comes and go, symptoms tend to chance every day. My mental well-being is more positive , I feel I’m back to normal in my thinking and seeing things for what they are. I really hope I’m coming out of it. 1 1995 started Paxil 20mg slowly increasing to 50mg 2014 I decided to tapper myself not knowing how too and crashed , DR added 50mg of Seroquel Through the years made many mistakes tapering Started Tapering Both drugs at the same time 7.5% per month Paxil 9% Seroquel doing daily micro-taper Guided by Mark Horowitz 31/3/24 Paxil 10.31mg 31/3/24 Seroquel 9.9mg Link to comment

Administrator KenA Posted July 25, 2021 Administrator Share Posted July 25, 2021 @Cheeky I CT quit everything but Im a stuborn ole SOB so I just suffered through it!! But you know what? I made it!! And you will too!! I did have the typical waves and windows pattern but it took 6 months or so for me to get outta acute but I made it and so will you!! It took a very very long time and the healing was very non-linear but I stayed positive and refused to give up or give in!! If I healed so will you!!! You have got this!! I was really bad for a very long time but I refused to give up and 2 years later I feel amazing!! Just keep pushing through one day at a time!! For me the waves became less intense and the windows became sweeter!! I kept a journal so I could remember the windows which helped because we all know when we are in a wave all we remember is feeling bad!! You are gonna be ok!! Cheeky
Okay so Just another update. I’ve been doing good 85% back to base line but I’m still getting the morning aniexty that lasts till around 11am. I have noticed the last last 2 days I feel 70% , I think that could be due to my periods that is due in a few days. When I look back to last time I had them I was a mess then so I think I have improved. Seeing what this drug has done to so many people and myself makes me want to come off quickly, but I know I can’t do that. I also see my sister and relatives that have been on them for over 20 years never touching there dose and living a happy life and wonder Why the hell taper if I can get stability .These questions run through my brain constantly. I wonder why put myself through this but I also know that I don’t want a life on them and I don’t need them. I just wish I could just stop to asking them.
Cheeky
Difficult day I spoke too soon, I just don’t understand this. I really hope I could have my husbands support. He just doesn't understand and I’m scared of his disappointment. I have to go to work in a couple of weeks and it only Yi be extremely busy due to everything opening up again due to lockdown. I’m a hairdresser so will be working crazy hours to fit everyone in. I’m one way it could be good to keep me busy but I’m scared I won’t be able to cope. When I’m withdrawal my mind plays tricks on me and I think the worst of everything. I just want to be me again.

Colonial
Oh, yes. I see your file now. Tapering the past 16 months in the chronic anxiety from the pandemic has made things harder for many people. So much of what was life is out of our control now and that has made the progress we once were able to make stall for a time. I did my taper sort of like yours, a little of both now and again until I decided to work on the Wellbutrin first since that was not only a brain stimulant but a Paxil "booster". Luckily my doctor did not pressure me to take other psyche drugs for the withdrawal as He thought I was having seizures, which, my symptoms being so much like "Functional Neurological Syndrome" and having sleep paralysis and absence seizures I can see why. Like you it was a matter of finding the best coping mechanism for each symptom as they rotated and took their turns manifesting. Hopefully You will start to settle from that drop from 25 to 15 soon!
