@Cheeky  Good morning.  You sound much better.  I think being to spend time with your mom and sister now is helping.  You don't have to hide what you are going through from them anymore.  Did you son enjoy time with your mom?

I hope you and your husband were able to spend some quality time together.

Have a good day☺️

"yesterday I had the usual aniexty in the morning and went for a walk at around 11am to bed time I felt 90% normal and didn’t want to go to bed as I felt so good."

I remember those days.

That was the beginning of my real stabilization period.

I would feel awful with the cortisol spike in the morning, bad afternoons .

But then normal for 3 hours before sleep.

Eventually the normal periods get longer and the other symptoms less severe.

I also found taking a break from this site and other forums was necessary for a few days to a week at a time every so often or the constant typing and talking about my symptoms and reading others talking about their issues actually can accidentally create the very "anxiety-symptom loop" I was trying to avoid.

There's a fine line between getting answers and support, supporting others, and accidentally letting Ourselves become obsessed in Our own heads.  Of course, it doesn't help when your physical symptoms are so bad you really can't do too much else but sit in bed for a day or too.

For myself, I found it most helpful not to come on sites when symptoms were severe but only when I was feeling ok for a few hours.  I noticed if I allowed myself on sites when I felt horrible, my symptoms lasted longer.  By thinking, typing and talking about my symptoms while they were happening, I was accidentally giving them more "positive feedback" to continue.  Once I "limited" my exposure to information and reading and discussions to shorter periods of time and not as often and distracted myself with other things, the waves did not last as long or were not as severe.

Now, to be fair, this did coincide with real stabilization since by that point I had stopped dropping the meds but I do think we can accidentally shoot ourselves in the foot by too much exposure to information about our issues or constantly discussing them with others.  It's a balancing act we each have to figure for ourselves how much is enough and when it's too much.

Am glad to here your out of the house, though!

I was bedridden almost completely for months.

You'll get there, one day at a time. 🙂

That’s so true, I think I’m going to give the forum a break because I find it all to triggering for me and makes me anxious reading all the posts. I want to support people but it’s becoming to hard for me . I might just keep a couple of friends to support.

Thankyou, today has been another good day to I’m starting to get my confidence back and be myself again . I will give myself a 6 month break and then do a brass monkey slide method.  I have learnt a valuable lesson in going too fast and not looking after myself.  When you you know it’s time for yourself to do a cut?

You should be symptom stable for a few months before You think about it

The variable is the other stressors and responsibilities in your life.

I didn't do well dropping every month, my brain seems to need a little more time to settle.

I was good dropping 5-7% every 8 weeks or so, when I sped up to monthly by the 4th month it was trouble.

It was about 6 months after the first bad crash before I felt normal again, so I waited 9 months total.

Then I started dropping here and there.

You seem to worry about not being the person you think others need you to be and working, so You might want a good long hold and see how you feel in February.

It's not a matter of time, since anything can happen along the way, illness, etc.

Its how recovered your central nervous system is, and that is different for everyone.

The 10% a month is a great guide for people who are starting off correctly from the beginning but for the rest of us, we need smaller cuts and more time in between.

Sorry it's a hard time for you Cheeky.

Just a quick note for when you're ready that the brass monkey slide taper has been helpful for me too, a smoother ride down than the bigger cuts.

Okay update…….

The last few days I have seen a major improvement, the time when I’m feeling good can be for a few hours and I’m 90% normal then. The waves aren't intense but still lingering.
Im suppose to get my Astra Vaccine tomorrow and am worried about it. Will it bring in a wave. @Colonial. @brassmonkey

Hello lovely,

I don’t want to say anything too positive as I know how it can change so quickly.
I’m  trying to keep myself busy so I don’t think about it so much, I have to get the Covid Astra Vaccine and worried it’s going to throw me back. Have you had it ?

Okay update…….

The last few days I have seen a major improvement, the time when I’m feeling good can be for a few hours and I’m 90% normal then. The waves aren't intense but still lingering.
Im suppose to get my Astra Vaccine tomorrow and am worried about it. Will it bring in a wave. @Colonial. @brassmonkey

I have been hypersensitive to a lot and had no issue with my Covid vaccine.  It seems almost everyone is reporting no issue.

From reading this board the people who reported an increase in symptoms also were incredibly nervous before and after getting the vaccine that it upset their CNS.

Know that odds are everything will be fine, you will have symptoms but most likely only ones expected to happen as the vaccine triggers an immune response to prepare your body in case it ever encounters Covid.

40 yo Male. Started Paxil about 15 years ago. 10 mg (pill weight .125 - .129 g). 5 yrs wanted less side effects, doctor took me off Paxil over couple week period and put me on Wellbutrin. Not good. Went back on Paxil. Relieved my symptoms, but didn't work as well and more side effects. Severe reaction between Paxil and Zomig Summer of 2012. Head was affected during warmer days (cloudiness, confusion, pressure). Began 10% withdrawal 10/24/12.

Withdrawel helped many symptoms, but also added side effects: nausea, dizziness, tiredness. Hyper-anxiety started January 2014.

Went through a 2 year period of de-realization (2016-2018).  Rarely any windows.
Current dose: 0.00 as of 4/10/21.  Made a lot of progress in my withdrawal symptoms the last 2 years of my taper.  I think doing a liquid taper helped stabilize things on the lower doses.  A lot of my symptoms have reduced significantly.  Hoping for even more improvement now that I am off.

You can  find information in the United Kingdom "Yellow Card Scheme" reporting system for what to expect as for side effects or adverse reactions.  To what extent those symptoms may over lap as ones you normally have or are additional is unknown ahead of time.

I really haven't seen too many reports on how people do after this particular inoculation and since some of them are designed to act differently I really can't hazard a guess as to what to expect, other to say, as any other future event, the more you worry about it, the more you will accidentally make your symptoms worse.

You may feel some symptoms from the COVID jab or you may not. I really doubt that it will trigger a wave, keep a positive outlook. Getting the shot is quite important, way too many people are dying from COVID, but I have never seen anyone die from an ADWD wave.

20 years on Paxil starting at 20mg and working up to 40mg. Sept 2011 started 10% every 6 weeks taper (2.5% every week for 4 weeks then hold for 2 additional weeks), currently at 7.9mg. Oct 2011 CTed 15oz vodka a night, to only drinking 2 beers most nights, totally sober Feb 2013.

Since I wrote this I have continued to decrease my dose by 10% every 6 weeks (2.5% every week for 4 weeks and then hold for an additional 2 weeks). I added in an extra 6 week hold when I hit 10mg to let things settle out even more. When I hit 3mgpw it became hard to split the drop into 4 parts so I switched to dropping 1mgpw (pill weight) every week for 3 weeks and then holding for another 3 weeks.  The 3 + 3 schedule turned out to be too harsh so I cut back to dropping 1mgpw every 4 weeks which is working better.

Final Dose 0.016mg.     Current dose 0.000mg 04-15-2017

You're definitely correct dear Brassmonkey. However, i couldn't have a wink of sleep last night and it is already 7 am here. I have a resting heart rate of 120 and just can't seem to get the sleep I badly need. Prior to the vaccine, I could sleep anywhere from 6 to 9 hours of nonstop sleep. I hate to think this is going to last long.

-2015 september zoloft (20 mg updosed to 125) plus clonazepam for anxiety and panic attacks

2016 Jan replaced clonazepam with chlorodiazpoxide 20 mg

-2016 April cold turkeyed both after a urinary retention surgery with no withdrawal symptom at all

-2018 Jan perscribed Nortriptyline 10 mg for vestibular vertigo

-2018 Feb due to the horrible side effects which my psychiatrist took for depression and anxiety, Nortriptyline began to be updosed to reach 100 in June

-2018 Oct noticed I wasexperiencing no pleasure in life and decided to taper(zombie-style kind of life)Tapered to fast to reach 50 mg in 2019 Feb

-Terrible withdrawal symtoms began to creep up, had to updose to 75 in June 2019

-Began to make changes in diet and lifestyle and tapered again to reach 30 by 2020 Jan

-(using Brassmonkey method from here on)By May 2020 reached 22.5 when my whole taper process hit the wall due to infection to God-damned Covid 19. Late Sep 2020 restarted my taper 16 mg in Jan 2021, Jan 2021 to Feb down from 16mg to 14.5mg,Feb to March 13mg,March to July had to hold on 13mg due to being sold counterfeit drugs, took me a while to find out and get a new batch and get back on track again,July to August 11.5 mg,August to Sep 10.5 mg,Sep to Oct 9.5 mg, Jan 2022 started the water solution Nori, had to hold for a few months due to the horrible side effects of Covid shots, restarted taper on June 2022, March 2023(now) 1.8 mg (deem myself 60 to 70 percent recovered and functional)

I had a fluey night and stiff muscles with the Pfizer but nothing major and it passed before long.  Friends have been getting the AZ too, what I'm hearing is people are having less discomfort with it by comparison.

A lot of people are also bringing the second dose of AZ back down to 3-8 weeks after the first - since unfortunately the delta variant looks like it might be getting out of hand here, the logic is it's better to be fully immunised and safe sooner, rather than have some theoretical benefit in 12 weeks but be more at risk till then.

I'll just say south of the Hume.

I don't have high hopes of this quarantine ending too soon, unfortunately.  Can't believe how much the powers-that-be dropped the ball by not getting mass vaccinations sorted out when we were virtually back at zero, and then not containing the new strain because they wanted to keep the shops open.  A stitch in time saves nine eh.

I think I'm going to study to make the most of the quarantine time.

How are you feeling?

Hopefully that makes you feel more comfortable - which the most important thing outside of making sure you protect yourself against severe Covid.

The Pfizer seems to be more effective and better tolerated (although Astra side effects were rare).

Yeah I think I’m just trying to avoid going. I will have to next week though. .

Everything will be fine. Keep remembering that. Your recent posts express a fair amount of progress. That is great news.

Thankfully I’m doing good 85% back to normal. I really didn’t think I would ever be stable again. I really thought I was doomed forever. It really does happen , you just don’t know it at the time . You just have to hang on and take everyday as comes.
I understand why people don’t  come back and write success stories, they won’t to forget and it’s too triggering.
How are you my lovely?
