coloured font headings but I don't see that option available in the account settings under signature.

Q:  Can you remember if it was available before?  It looks like it might have been because your current drug signature includes some blue font.

I have this issue with some topics where I cannot access the formatting options on the right hand side of the bar at the top.  For this current post I am making I only have:

Bold, Italics, Underlining, Link, Quote, Smilies, Bullet points, Number points and View.

Q:  Is that what you get at the top of the signature box?

However, if I change the screen percentage (control + scroll wheel up or down OR control + plus or minus) it does appear.

Q:  Is anyone able to explain how to make a picture small enough (file size) to use an avatar?

It is 6 years since I made mine and I cannot remember how to do it.  We have members who want to change their avatar instead of the automatic letter which they have been assigned.

Thank you in advance.

Hi ChessieCat,

Yes that exactly what I got in the toolbar but when I changed the screen percentage down as you suggested the font colour appears  - brilliant thanks :) .    I actually changed my signature on Word and copied it across but this makes it a lot easier than having to copy it over each time.

I saw the query on how to change an avatar to a photo.

I changed my avatar to a photo by using a free image resizer I just googled a few months back but I can't remember which one I used so I tried changing it again and it worked on this site-:- https://promo.com/tools/image-resizer/

I changed the dimensions to 251 x 334, selected download and then I uploaded it on my profile page and it uploaded ok for me.

I don't know how secure free photo resizer sites including the one above are though so proceed at your own risk.

There is an app for Windows 10 that allows you to resize as far as I know but I didn't use it.  It is not possible to resize it in the Windows 10 photos app as the minimum file size you can reduce the photo to there is 51.2KB.

Thanks for your help ChessieCat

Currently tapering Mirtazapine; previously tapered Cymbalta 30mg from June 2018-Feb 2019 and Seroquel 150mg to zero from Oct-December 2020.

Supplements for Hashimoto's disease and histamine issues relating to Mirtazapine:   Vitamin D3 1,000mcg, bio-identical HRT, Selenium, Quercetin, Lutein, Zinc, Vitamin C, Omega 3.

Mirtazapine Taper: 2021 16th Aug -  transitioned to liquid from tablet by dissolving two 15mg tablets into a solution of 15 ml water and 15 ml maple syrup on a starting dose of what I thought was 7.5ml; 17 Sept  - 7.31; 24 Sept  - 7.13; 15 Oct  - 6.95; 6 Nov  - 6.78; 21 Nov  - 6.61; 5 Dec  - 6.51;

2022 - 1 Jan 6.41; 1 Feb  - 6.1; 9 Mar -  5.8; 13 Mar - 5.9; 7 Apr - 5.8; 21 Apr - 5.7; 7 May - 5.63; 23 May - 5.55; 8 June 5.50;  (got COVID on 12th June so held); 1 July 5.4; 15 July 5.32; 8 Aug 5.2; 15 Aug 5.1; 22 Aug 5; 19 Sept 4.9; 2 Oct 4.81; 13 Oct 4.71; (COVID Booster 17/10/22 so longer hold ); 1 Nov 4.65; 3 Nov 4.60; 10 Nov 4.55; 13 Nov 4.50; 17 Nov 4.45; 20 Nov 4.40;  2 Dec 4.30mg; 9 Dec 4.20mg; I discovered that the volumetric container measured 33ml rather than 30ml in Dec 2022. Following helpful advice from moderator OnMyWay (see her  reply of the 5th March) discovered taper with the dilution was 3.8mg (calculated by dividing 30/33 so that every 1ml of solution has  0.90ml of Mirtazapine.  7.50 - 0.90= 6.6ml which was the starting dose on 16th Aug 2021 not 7.5ml).  I decided to keep using the solution as I didn't want more change to deal with than I had to.

Due to some upcoming technical work on the website, some features like the activity stream and search may be limited. I'm not sure how long this may last, but wanted to let you know in case you do experience any problems.

The tech team has finished their work, so the activity stream and search features should be working.

In order to meet new requirements for our software, we will soon be updating the site login to require entering your email address instead of username. This will improve the security of Surviving Antidepressants. This change will happen in one week on January 12. At that point, you will need your email address (along with your password) in order to access the site.

We are also adding security questions to the registration process; however, that will only affect new people who register after this security feature is enabled.

Right now, to log in, you use your username or email address and password. After the upgrade, you'll only be able to log in using your email address (not your username) and your password. So not much of a change, but for folks used to logging in using their username, it may cause a little confusion. This is why we're giving a heads up.

If you don't remember your password, you can reset it here:

Forgot Password link

Enter your email address in the box, click the security check, and click the "recover password" button. You'll get an email allowing you to reset your password.  If you do not see an email in your inbox, please check your spam folder.

If you have any problems, you can contact us at survivingads.contact@gmail.com or use the Contact Us form - Contact Us

Apologies for the delay in getting this set up, but it's all set now. Please use your email address and not your username when logging into the site.

This may not affect anyone who is using the "remember me" or other types of password savers on your computer or phone.

Just a quick note to let members know the Success Stories has been moved from the Current Events forum to the Support Forum and is now the third forum on the site. Several of the staff mentioned that would make it easier for everyone to find.

When you get multiple notices and you click on one you lose the notices. So you can't find the second one. Can this be changed?

Ativan 2004 - 2016. 20 month taper. Benzo free.

Originally Prozac, on to Zoloft 100 mg, 2004 to present.

Gabapentin 100 - 200 as needed 2014 to present.

Aripiprazole: 2 months at 1.25, 4 months at 2 mg. Tried to stop 4 times over last 3 months. spent time at 1 mg. Currently at .5 mg. (Splitting 2 mg pill into quarters)

Try clicking on the bell icon located on the upper righthand side of your computer screen. That has all of your notifications and they don't disappear once you click on them.

If you need to change the way you receive notifications, you can do so here - Notification Settings

I don't know if it's me, my internet or the update I just did this weekend on my Chrome Book, but last night and today every time I try to log on, It says, "This Community is Unavailable Right Now", try back in a few minutes. Then when I try back it is slower than slow and had timed out a couple times. It doesn't do it on my mail or facebook so I don't know?

Anyone else having any of these problems?

Thanks!!

PREVIOUS medications and discontinuations: Have been on medications since 1996.

Valium, Gabapentin, Lamictal, Prilosec and Zantac from 2000 to 2015 with a fast taper by a psychiatrist.

Liquid Lexapro Nov, 2016 to 31-March, 2019 Lexapro free!!! (total Lexapro taper was 4 years-started with pill form)

---CURRENT MEDICATIONS:Supplements:Milk Thistle, Metamucil, Magnesium Citrate, Vitamin D3, Levothyroxine 25mcg, Vitamin C, Krill oil.

Xanax 1mg 3x day June, 2000 to 19-September, 2020 Went from .150 grams (average weight of 1 Xanax) 3x day to .003 grams 3x day. April 1, 2021 went back on 1mg a day. Started tapering May 19, 2023. July 28, 2023-approximately .87mg. Dr. fast tapered me at the end and realized he messed up. Prescribe it again and I am doing "slower than a turtle" taper.

@Frogie Yes. In fact I am pleasantly surprised I was able to get on just now to respond to you.  But yes I am having a lot of problems and get the same "Community is Unavailable."

I hope you are well. I enjoy reading your comments on this site. You are always so spot on with everything you say.

Tech Support is asking us to monitor the site's issue with periodically dropping offline for a minute or so at a time.

If this happens to you, please post here with the time(s) of day or night it's happened, along with the time zone (you don't have to list a country or anything specific if you are concerned about disclosing this). Or send me a PM with the information.

Thank you.
