Blade: The Difference Between Heaven and Hell

Recommended Posts

I see those of Us who walk in Hell. On the streets. In the stores. White knuckled behind steering wheels. In passenger side seats eyes sad, but glad to be out of the house...

Thank Jesus my new Christian Wife found my hidden stairs so I could climb back into the Light.

We prayed on our knees then went to the supplement store and put Her research and God's Love to work.

Sorry screwed up.

I just want to say that I am glad your feeling ok these past 4 months some people don't seem to have withdrawal sometimes.  Maybe the supplements are working for you bravo if this is the case.

I am not sure if you are aware of this or not but withdrawal can be delayed sometimes so if you start to have symptoms of withdrawal come back and get some advice from the Mods.

I have seen it happen before so I just wanted you to know.

I wish you peace

Hi Blade, thank you for sharing your story, its quite unusual that you have been able to recover so quickly after such long term use, I hope this lasts for you.  Please come back and let us know how you are doing, as BTDT pointed out, sometimes withdrawal can be delayed, this is what happened to me.  I thought I was fine for a few months, but then I started getting weird symptoms.

1996-1month Prozac 20mg (horrible-intolerable)
1996-Dec 2010 Paxil 20mg/Klonopin 2mg
CRASH/HOSPITALIZED freakish WD

Please would you clarify what you have written here.  Was the crash in 2010 caused by going cold turkey off Paxil and Klonopin?  Or were you still taking it at this dose, but crashed anyway?

I'm not a doctor.  My comments are not medical advise. These are my opinions based on my own experience and what I've learned. Please discuss your situation with a medical practitioner who has knowledge of tapering and withdrawal...if you are lucky enough to find one.

I will add here it happened to me too. I have done a lot of switching and changing of drugs in 18 years use and I would never have put the withdrawal or reaction squarely at the feet of the drug I had taken wks or months before the next fallout that put me back on meds I was always trying to get off them as they made me feel ill...always till finally going thru it over and over I was a believer in the pills.  In the end I was terrified to quit effexor as I was sure what waited for me was worse then where I was even when a doctor told me to get off it I fought to stay on. My previous experience with going off had convinced me I was a mental patient who could never been off medication I was solid in that thought even when my brain was mush and I could not think of anything else as to me this was a survival thought.  To stay alive I had to be on medication and I already knew how bad switching or stopping would be.  I did not want to add those effects to my already horrid health issues as I thought the health issues I had a the time were unrelated to effexor.  I have come to learn I was wrong I have come to learn a lot of things the hard way.

I don't want to bog you down with a lot of information that floats in my head.  I will say this when I quit effexor I was ok for 6 wks maybe a bit better than I had been on it... around the 6 wk mark I got the flu.  It felt just like the flu unable to function head spinning vomiting body aching diarrhea and that far away feeling of not really being in my body and thinking sleep for a wk or so would heal me.  Praying for the wk to go quickly I went to bed... and I stayed for 3 months.  That is how the effexor withdrawal went.  I did not take any supplements as I did not know what was wrong with me... doctors tried this pill then that pill every pill they gave me made me worse that includes several trips to the emergency room.

I know for Effexor the numbers are 22% of people can stop taking it and not have withdrawal ... so it is possible.  If the it is also possible for other ads I hope your one of the 22% I wish I had been.

I wish you peace

Hey,

Thanks fer checkin' on me.

As far as the supplements I had to get off the Inositol and the GPC altogether.

They eventually just made me feel bad.

Good news is they were the catalyst I needed to get off the poison and served their purpose well.

Through Jesus and a new loving family I have enjoyed a "babe in the woods" wonder of life i haven't felt in decades.

I've lost a much needed 35 pounds and I'm eating more proper.

Hehe I actually ran...like RUN, for the first time in a decade after some weeks of walking.

There are somedays I'm reminded of the horror of my former life. A vision here a heartbeat there.

There are somedays when it just OCCURS to me that I haven't had to fight a terror or blood curdling thought all day.

Its all day by day and thats all I'm living...

I pray that all eventually find their own skeleton key out of their own prison of vicious circles.

I love y'all... my family in torment.

Never know whats around the corner.

Update..the much prohesied one year bump in the road arrived.

Strangely in the form of totally unrealistic panic at 5-10 minute red lights in the city.

Man when it happened the first time I sunk deep into a hole of despair thinking WTF? Me after all this time?

I cursed God beating on my steering wheel once I got to a Walmart parking lot to remember my own name and get my Sh*t in one sock so to speak.

I'm fine on the Interstate and on country roads. Lol I just dodge the long lights in town. What the hell (big sigh). It's getting less and less as the days pass.I took Inositol for a couple days and I will again if I need to but I'm getting over the big let down and the panic is easing.

If I am truthful to myself I guess the Red lights aren't so strange. In 2010 I was at a stop sign waiting for 70mpg traffic to lighten up so I could turn onto a main highway and I was so intent on the road ahead that I didn't see the old chick behind me in a big fine car just smash into me pushing me into the middle of 70mph oilfield trucks. I was dead. At least to me. I still cannot figure out why I'm alive I can only give it to God and find His purpose for me. Since this has started happening again I have noticed that I have before unobserved habits of checking my mirrors 100x at lights and actually feeling that spot of darkness I went into when I was shoved in front of the big trucks. I remember now the older woman very nicely asked me if I was ok as she tapped on my window. She said she thought she had killed me and I guess I thought she did too. LIfe is a trip...but this too will pass. So that's my update mates. I hope everyone is finding the skeleton key to their own prisons and releasing themselves from their own hells. Hey I meant no offense on that last post in May...I think I had a few Samuel Adams that day....Hugs to all...Blade

That sounds like something you could learn to manage, perhaps with cognitive behavior therapy (CBT). It sounds like a bit of a phobia.

So, how are your withdrawal symptoms?

Wow! An experience like that could give anyone a phobia. Its understandable why being stopped at lights would trigger feelings of panic. As Alto suggested, you could probably get this resolved with CBT, or I've heard that EMDR-Therapy can sometimes work for this kind of problem, although I have no personal experience of it.

I'm not a doctor.  My comments are not medical advise. These are my opinions based on my own experience and what I've learned. Please discuss your situation with a medical practitioner who has knowledge of tapering and withdrawal...if you are lucky enough to find one.

Hello Alto and Petunia,

Thanks for checking in on folks. I for one will always be grateful for folks that do.

As far as WD:

Once a month I'll get a brain shock (zap) that makes me go "damn, not that again". But that is always associated with taking a long draw off of a Cigarette...the bane of man's existence.

Been waiting on my well to start drilling. I know everyone else is thrilled with low prices but man My family and I are practically casualties from it.

Very stressful. I'm too old and broke to go back to school. Used my GI Bill decades ago.

Been so mad and stessed about work. I have fallen into despair but I don't really put that on withdrawals. Hell poverty sucks for everyone and alot have it worse than me or mine.

Everything will be alright. Get back to exercising and praying and everything usually does. Just gotta get busy...and fast.

The freakish paranoid panic hit me like a ton of bricks though. Man I've been out there in nutsville stonecold sober in past few weeks.  Its like its gonna be awhile before I trust my own mind again. I know that makes sense even if it doesn't sound like it. My family in pain will understand.

Best thing a man can do for his mind besides prayer is to do physical labor or love. This IS THE TRUTH.

I'll catch my groove again. Just kinda lost for a bit...but I've been here before...only the fog changes shapes, the landscape of pain remains as it ever was.

Hugs to my peeps,

Blade

UPDATE:

Getting back on track. The para-panic is subsiding. Whew...got kinda close for a bit there.

Praise the One God it's all better now. Not perfect but nothing in this Life is.

Kust dropping a line for the status keepers. Folks checkin' and stat keepers ARE very important to keep a clear focus on what has been done to us and how we are recovering. So...The Kid didn't go off the deep end hehe. Things are gonna be ok.

Blade,

You seem to really take this all in stride, God bless you bro! I am praying for you! Your bro in arms!

On zoloft since 2000 for OCD/anxiety. Tapered off from 150mg to 100, 50, 25 over Dec/Jan 2015. After month n half off, began depression. Being terrified, as I never had depression before, after a few days, went back to 50mg, then five days later to 100mg. Now stable. I will stop this medication, with time and perseverance...my current taper level and timing are as follows, which includes No other Rx's, No alcohol, NEVER any illicit drugs:

84mg from October 2016

82mg from February 2017

79mg from April 2017

77mg from June 2017

75mg from July 2017
