When stress is present for a significant period of time, the adrenal glands are forced to constantly release cortisol. Cortisol helps the body to counteract the inflammatory effects of stress, and without it, a person could die from the internal damage and inflammation caused from stress. For this reason, the body may begin to convert its store of sex hormones in the adrenal glands into cortisol to meet the body’s needs, which can cause an imbalance of sex hormones. Chronic FatigueChronic Fatigue syndrome can be due to hormonal imbalances related to the kidneys and the adrenal glands, and it may also seem like an advanced version of adrenal fatigue. Parts of the kidneys produce hormones, and when they are not excreting enough hormones due to stress, a person can experience ongoing fatigue, which is the key symptom in chronic fatigue. Some of the other symptoms of chronic fatigue can include a chronic sore throat, swollen lymph nodes, headaches, feeling like a cold or flu is coming on, and muscle or body aches. I don't think they knew I had been on prozac I did not think it a big deal and never did finish the bottle of pills. I had tests of course lots of them. Was put into a pain clinic and given amitriptyline which stopped the withdrawal but had many side effects. But I could sleep something I had not done in a very long time the pain lessened. My mother got cancer in 94 they switched my meds to Zoloft to help deal with this pressure as I was her main care giver she died in 96. I stopped zoloft in 96 had withdrawal was put on paxil went nutty quit it ct put on resperidol quit it ct had withdrawal was put on Effexor... 2years later celexa was added 20mg then increased to 40mg huge personality change went wild. Did too fast taper off Celexa 05 as I felt unwell for a long time prior... quit Effexor 150mg ct 07 found ****** 8 months into withdrawal learned some things was banned from there in 08 have kept learning since. there is really not enough room here to put my history but I have a lot of opinions about a lot of things especially any of the drugs mentioned above. One thing I would like to add here is this tidbit ALL OPIATES INCREASE SEROTONIN it is not a huge jump to being in chronic pain to being put on an ssri/snri and opiates will affect your antidepressants and your thinking. I think I said before it is like we are in a state of fight and flight ... in our heads but our bodies have given out we have ran too long and too far from the dinosaurs that were chasing us and if we were actually cave men would have been eaten long ago.... when your running from a dinosaur the last thing on your mind is sex... can you imagine the cave man stopping off for romance during the chase... make complete sense if you think of how our bodies and brain are connected So with adrenaline low and perhaps our brains still stuck on run trying to pump up the empty tire of our flat adrenals... is there where we get stuck with PSSD long term... perhaps the new switch is in the brain... or perhaps the switch is broken between the brain and adrenals... so many things it could be... I took a look at the Healty links and really ... not sure I will ever resing myself to being non human... sex is part of human for me a big part of life to fight against it may be insane... but I am the shirt may as well wear it does it cause me more pain to wear the shirt rather than join a new club... Hell I don't know but I am going out of this world as close to how I came is as I can get because it is sacred to me... it may well be others do not agree and will take the path of least resistence... for me there is no choice it is that obvious to me.
