gentlygo: Invega - making commitment to 10% reductions slowly

It’s September 16th and Ives tapered down to 2.6 ml. It’s only at this time that I recognize that this is a moderate dose. I’m starting to feel mildly anxious at times. My pdoc said “there’s only so many times that I’ll let this happen” meaning he is very much not in favour of my taper even though I’ve been doing it slowly. Most of my supports are in my court except for my psychiatrist. I’ve been seeing him for 12 years but I’m realizing that he’s just not into personal care anymore so I’ve started to turn towards my GP and a consult psychiatrist at his practice. I’m hopeful but I also feel very lonely in this effort. My desire is to come off entirely but everyone is like maybe you can take just a little bit? But that isn’t my goal. However I am resolute and determined. Practicing meditation and attempting to get back to the gym regularly eating well and starting to lose weight.

Here at SA we talk about lowest effective dose.  For some people that might mean staying on a very small dose while for others it could be that they can get off their drug completely.  Being on the lowest effective dose means that you have reduced your drug load.

It might be that now is not the right time to come off but you may be able to get off at some time in the future.

June 30th 2021.

Freedom!

Taper finished.

To God be the Glory! He helped me this time with no adverse side effects to the tapering. It can be done. Don’t give up ❤️
