gentlygo: Invega - making commitment to 10% reductions slowly

Recommended Posts

It’s September 16th and Ives tapered down to 2.6 ml. It’s only at this time that I recognize that this is a moderate dose. I’m starting to feel mildly anxious at times. My pdoc said “there’s only so many times that I’ll let this happen” meaning he is very much not in favour of my taper even though I’ve been doing it slowly. Most of my supports are in my court except for my psychiatrist. I’ve been seeing him for 12 years but I’m realizing that he’s just not into personal care anymore so I’ve started to turn towards my GP and a consult psychiatrist at his practice. I’m hopeful but I also feel very lonely in this effort. My desire is to come off entirely but everyone is like maybe you can take just a little bit? But that isn’t my goal. However I am resolute and determined. Practicing meditation and attempting to get back to the gym regularly eating well and starting to lose weight.

2020 January transitioning to Rispiridol liquid 6ml

2020 January Paliperdone 6mg

2017 February Invega Trinza

2016 February 1.625 ml Risperdone liquid
2015 May, Risperidone liquid 3 ml 1x day started -

2015 April, re-put on Invega pill 3mg.

2012 tapered slower, relapse Invega Depot 50 mg

Here at SA we talk about lowest effective dose.  For some people that might mean staying on a very small dose while for others it could be that they can get off their drug completely.  Being on the lowest effective dose means that you have reduced your drug load.

It might be that now is not the right time to come off but you may be able to get off at some time in the future.

Being very patient.  I'll get there - slowly.  ETA mid 2021
