Marta I'm sure things will go better with time since you reinstated cipralex.

I would do the same but I don't know if my emptiness is caused by cipralex, risperdal or a mix of the two drugs...

good luck, I'm with you!

March 2010/ October 2010:

Sereupin 30mg a day, EN 15 drops a day

October 2010/ 1st November 2014:

Cipralex 50mg a day (tapered to 40mg a day in August 2013), EN 15 drops a day (switched to Lexotan 15 drops a day in September 2014)

Started Risperdal 1mg a day on the 1st November 2014.

Stopped Risperdal on the 23 November 2014 because that day, after a short mental crysis, I suddenly lost all my emotions, desires, motivation and they not come back yet.

Stopped Cipralex C/T in December 2014.

Added, tapered and stopped other drugs during the following months (also a voluntary hospitalization in January 2015 for a suicide attempt)...no changes yet.

I'm med free from 3rd December 2015

Hi all! Tomorrow I'll try to go to a rock concert. :) It seems a trivial thing but you know how hard it is to do things and to feel "normal", it's a big step for me. I hope it will be okkk! I have a question...I know that it's unpredictible but just give me your suggestions please.. lets say that I can start taper again...I have reinstalled cipralex two months ago-8mg. From a hellish out of this word w/d (still I cannot find words to describe it) I feel better, windows are longer. How long I have to wait to start taper again in your opinion? One month? Four months? I should try a 5% taper? (I have the drug in liquid format so no problem).... happy to have your suggestions. I know that it sounds "on hurry" but my dream is to throw away cipralex from my life as soon as possibile, at least for lets say... 10 years. :-p

A rock concert? So happy for you! I'm sure it will be fine!

I wish I could go to a rock concert again too!

Feb 2015 Took venlafaxine for 5 days only... experienced withdrawal that made me completely non-functional

Mar 2015 took under 1mg of Sertraline for 10 days in an attempt to combat Venlafaxine withdrawal. Got adverse reactions.

After stopping Sertraline, withdrawal got much worse. New, horrific symptoms.

June 2015 Still non-functional but slowly getting better. Still brain zaps, migraines, sweating, heart racing, depression, crying spells

September 2015: 24/7 brain zaps, twitches in the face, no concentration, bad memory, language skills deteriorating.

Hi...I'm back! Thank for the answer...so the concert was ok, I confess I was really scared to go, but my boyfriend helped me to find motivation...I really was captured by the music so that I managed to enjoy it, much more than I've expected. After the concert, on the way home, dark thoughts and restlessness...the same story, but at least I've had a great rocking night.

Do you also like rock concerts? I'm sure one day you will enjoy them again. Decide to go and get there it's hard...but there is so much to see and listen that for sure your mind and body will stand by for a while.

I'm so glad you could enjoy the concert! That's amazing. I think that's a really good sign that you're stabilizing.

I love rock and metal concerts. I haven't gone to any since this started. I found that any kind of exercise makes me worse... and going to a rock concert without going mad would just not be me.... so I guess I'll keep concerts on standby until I'm a bit better.

Is you boyfriend supportive?  Let him know how you feel, and yes the emotional, and sexual  side of things does come back.  You are doing well, listen to the others here, they are great.  If you still want to study, and go out, your only option is to stabliize and do a slow taper.......  look up the tapering section.

Yes it is waves and windows.........   but the waves generally get smaller and the windows bigger......    ..

1992 Dothiepin 375mg 8 weeks, exhaustion/depression.  Serotonin syndrome, oh yes!  seizures . Fell pregnant, 3rd baby, Nitrous Oxide, 3 weeks mental hospital pp psychosis. zoloft tegretol.

Feb 1996 ct tegretol, tapered Zoloft 8 weeks. as (unexpectedly)  pregnant. Steven died after 3 days.(Zolft HLHS baby).  98 had run in with Paxil, 2 tablets, 3 weeks taper, survived.
2005..menopause? exhausted again. Zyprexa, mad in three days, fallout....  Seroquel, Effexor, tegretol,   and 8 years of self destruction. Failed taper.
Damn 1/4 valium... nuts again! .fallout, zoloft 100mg  seroquol 400mg mirtazapine 45 mg  tegretol 400mg.  Mid 14 3 month taper. Nov 14 CRASH.
Mid 15 ....   75mg  seroquel,  3 x 1800mg SJW  2 week window end of December followed by 6 week wave
5/2 68mg seroquel, 2.5 x 1800mg SJW::::20/2 61mg seroquel, 2.5 x  SJW::: 26/2 54mg seroquel, 2 x SJW::::21/3 43mg seroquel, 1 x 2700SJW :::: 23/4 36mg seroquel 1 x 1800 SJW

23/9  3mg.....,  27/9 0mg.  Reinstated, 6mg, then 12mg.............  LIGHTBULB MOMENT,  I have  MTHFR 2x mutations.  CFS and issues with MOULD in my home. So I left home, and working 150km away during week, loving it.

Oh was hard, panic attacks first week, gone now, along with the mould issues.

Hi ang and Laura ...thaks for your posts,

yes my boyfriend is supportive, it is very hard for him to undersatnd what is w/d (he will never understand I think :P ) , but for me it is important that he is accepting also the "w/d-side" of me.

If I'm looking back I can clearly see that it has never been as bad as the first weeks of w/d.....this is still "unbelievable" for me, I was so damn hoplessness.....

My worry is just  "how many month of stabilization should I wait before I can start a propre taper?" one million dollar question! Any suggestions? My doctor says...stay on it as long as you want....six months, one year ,10 years, 100 years.......  crazy!

Sending sincere hugs!

for oskcajga: reinstated 8mg (I know it's a lot :( it it was for my doctor it was 15mg  ) from about 30th May. June was horrible, July half horrible half better, August it's ok.

for Marmite: yes I still using drops and I am also considerin to use a ml syringa to have a super correct dosage...do you take the drops directly in your mouth or with water???  If I put the drops in a glass of water I'm always uncertain if I had drunk all the drug....yes I've planned a hyper slow taper...just I'm scared ...I don't know wheh to start it and if I'll ever feel stable after any decreased dose....

Oh, my gp is of the "it's all serotonine school/withdrawal doesn't exists".....what can I say?? I still go to him because for the rest it's a good doctor....but I'll never ask for my "mental health" again!!!! At least I've never seen a psychiatrist...never in my life I will.

I used to get terrible hangovers when I got drunk during withdrawal.  Like 3 week long miserable hang overs.  I hope you're spared of this.

Hey Marta, I was drinking a lot because of withdrawal and everyday really I just want to get smashed just not to feel so crap, but its not good for you, slows down the recovery. Hope you're alrite, Theo

Hi all, thanks a lot for the answer, it is really nice to "hear" your voice when I'm down, so I remember I am not alone.

I managed to not drink again....I'm not an alcoholic, but you know...it's an easy way to disconnect the brain....but of course it has a cost!

I promised myself to drink that way no more than once a month!

An update, I'm about 3 months after reinstation.....windows are long, this is nice and I am very grateful, but I have rarely bad waves. Which are extremely bad

because every time I hope it is the last one. I don't say I will be "happy" all the time, it's ok to be sad, but I', talking about "that" sadness: despair, sense of void (the worst feeling for me), etc

I am still on 8mg but I'll really think I am stable enugh to reduce to 6mg in small 10% steps and see how it will go.....

Still if you can give me your opinion (also Alto or a moderator):

do you think I'm doing the right way?? reinstation than waited 3 months for stability than start to taper?

Thank you, my heart warms everytime I come here.

Hi Marta, glad to know you are stable :)

I am still on 8mg but I'll really think I am stable enugh to reduce to 6mg in small 10% steps and see how it will go.....

I am not as wise as the moderators, but I think that you can start tappering.  If you are slow enough, your system will not notice.

Dear.all
I am toyallt drunk now. I dont care it is nice some times to finf a way to escape reality....i drinj like this only three tine a year. Maybe timorriwy ģ
Love ypu al
Marta

I have also drunk once during this and it was a weird experience, I didn't get drunk, actually I got anxious, and then I had imsomnia that night, and a bad hungover too... So no more alcohol for me I think

About me ------------------------ College student with a history of anxiety, excessive worrying and health anxiety.

April 2014 - May 2015----------    Prozac 20mg On and Off.  Second time on it I developed apathy, changes in personality, asexuality.

May 2015  -   July 2015-----------------  Tappering off prozac. Still no feelings, anhedonia, apathy, no libido, asexuality.

Current symptoms--------  pssd (asexuality in my case). Anxiety and depression developed some months afer stopping prozac, could have been caused by obsessing and beating myself up too much when I found myself unable to like girls again. The best thing to do with pssd (which in my case is asexuality) is accept it and move on.

BIG UPDATE!

I have started my second (and hopefully) my last taper.....yes after 4 months reinst. I still have highs and lows (but generallynot bad) .... I feel "enough" stable to taper! I am scared to feel again "THAT" total anxiety/despair/insomnia, but at least I know what to expect! It will be a loooong taper....

10% dosage reduction every 3-4 weeks from 8mg to 5mg

and then maybe even 5% from 5mg to 0mg

I'll add lot of updates on my condition!

Love and happiness to you all friends!!!!!!!!!!!

06/2012 - 02/2015 CIPRALEX 10 mg (given by GP motivation: I developed left abdomen pain for ca. 2 yr probably due to MD stress) - prior to this NOT any significant episode of anxiety/depression - on medication: emotional-sexual numbness, total inability to cry, +8 kg even with going to the gym, mild fatigue -> abdominal pain gone

02/2015 - 1/04/2015 tapering from 10 mg to 0 mg because I had enough of the numbness following GP advise

05/05/2015 SUDDENLY never-had-before huge anxiety, burning skin sensation, panic, fear, not able to cry again, never-had-before insomnia, totally lost appetite, little loss of vision in one eye, sweating, chest pain, short breath, restlessness, accelerated heartbeat

Good luck Marta!!

I am sure that with a slow tapper you will avoid most of the awful symptoms you had last time.

Update at 6mg: unfortunatley I have started to drink coffee again and anxiety and fast heartbeat are here. At least I can say(or pretend) they are due to coffee and not to cipralex decreasing.

I keep going, it's quite hard, not that bad anyway because I know what to exepct.

Oh no Marta! So sorry you're feeling so bad!

I was already celebrating because you had stabilized after the re-in-statement. Did you make a reduction recently? So sorry this is ruining your holidays.

Hi! Time for a small update. Doing "high and low"... started 4mg but immediatly felt the difference, need to stabilize now...it will take time....months i think...but i won't go back to 5mg hopefully! Big big problems with pre menstrual mood, never had these madness.

Last but not least I know this is not the place but having a relationship is so damn hard lately!

Hope a peaceful 2016 for all of us!

Marta you are doing great!

You will free from the beast (cipralex) soon, free forever. Try to imagine the day you will take the last dose, wow the last one then you will enjoy your life again for many and many years! :)

I had all your symptoms you listed, all of them; agitation and despair still hit me after many months. The good news is they will fade with time, so hold on and keep doing what you are doing!

Hugs

So sorry you're feeling bad again Marta! I think you'll have a happy ending. With some patience you'll get of these drugs and never look back.

Although I'm wondering the same very often. It's one year since I was poisoned with Venlafaxine and 11 months after the failed reinstatement attempt. I'm still very sick and sometimes I really start to loose hope.

But in the end we'll all be fine and move on with our lives. It just takes too bloody long  .

Hi everyone. Update. I had been to optimistic of course. .... switched to 4mg cipralex (i was pretty much stable) to 3mg. After 1week boom! insomnia or wake up in fear, tachycardia, anxiety..like wd...mmmh i HATE when Ads win! I feel so idiot for believing i was doing good. So bitter mood. .... back to 4mg today .... and stay there. Then try 5% taper .... i hate these low dose craziness. :( any comment is appreciated. Hug my friends

Hello, Marta.

You are tapering by too big an amount. A decrease of 1mg from 4mg is 25%. This causes withdrawal symptoms.

Are you using a liquid?

Please consider tapering by no more than 10%, calculated on the last dosage. A 10% decrease from 4mg would be 0.4mg.

See Why taper by 10% of my dosage?

Hey Marta - how are you going?

Please don't be cruel to yourself because you had to reinstate.

It's just a bump in the road, you will move past it soon enough.

Please listen to Alto - I've been worried that you didn't understand 10%, too.

What is the strength of your liquid?  1 mg / 1 ml?  Or something else (it will say on the bottle).

If your liquid is too strong, you may wish to dilute it to make smaller decreases.

I hope you are doing better.

A lifetime of being prescribed antidepressants that caused problems (30 years in total). At age 35 flipped to "bipolar," but was not diagnosed for 5 years. Started my journey in Midwest United States. Crossed the Pacific for love and hope; currently living in Australia.   CT Seroquel 25 mg some time in 2013.   Tapered Reboxetine 4 mg Oct 2013 to Sept 2014 = GONE (3 years on Reboxetine).     Tapered Lithium 900 to 475 MG (alternating with the SNRI) Jan 2014 - Nov 2014, tapered Lithium 475 mg Jan 2015 -  Feb 2016 = GONE (10 years  on Lithium).  Many mistakes in dry cutting dosages were made.

Hi all. Came here to update. Currently tapering Lexapro. (Cipralex) ->3 mg .... Enough stable but scared to go on and sadly bad vibes from many people around me. Hugs all

30/05/2015 reinstated 8mg (I was suggested 5 mg here, but I had a fight with my GP that he knows better...last time I gave him credibility -__- )
