Im in the middle of tapering .

I started with 10mg

 

Ive been taking 5mg for 15 days,  3/4  of 5mg now for 14 days, check my sig for accurate timing. I kind of need to work and

 

this thing plonders my mind, If taper finish  before or during start of work this will cause implications ,  environment hinders my progress and  cant letting go.

i feel not  100% focused and this thing plonders my mind that  olanzapine has caused  this problem and im not going to heal.  

 

this thing plonders m y mind how am i going to continue after taper finish, without the olanzapine.

Hi Miko,

Not necessarily, Miko......that you'll continue to experience the ruminating thoughts.  They may come and go.  Are you able to do any non-drug coping now?  Or anything that helps?

Here is something that might help:

Dealing With Emotional Spirals

So, you may be able to learn some techniques, to modify the experience of the ruminating thoughts.

And then, yes some of this could be related to WD, for sure.  You've been on and off a lot of medications in the past few years.  It can take some time for the nervous system and body to get on back to a new normal, so to speak.

And a bit more in this topic on Obsessive compulsive disorder: Repetitive intrusive thoughts......

 

So, are you on 5 mg of olanzapine now?  Or 2.5 mg ?

Some of the WD(withdrawal) may not be apparent right after a drop.  So you may need to slow your taper a bit, if symptoms are pronounced and just take a HOLD period to work on non-drug coping skills.  And then resume your taper, perhaps a bit slower than what you have been doing.

I begun work   3 weeks ago but Ill take a break today,  Was off the olanzapine 3 days and energy was so so, I'm on olanzapine  2 months.

Today  woke up refreshed  took the car, had a  double cappuchino latte decaf , very beautiful, summer. Trees, sunshine,, did some economy  shopping,

If I were you, I would slow down a bit on this rapid taper.  I don't like olanzapine, and do not wish for you to be on it, for longer than neccessary.  Yet, am concerned that you might be going a bit fast.   You ARE going way too fast!   Probable foreseeable problem, might be that the WD catches up to you and you really feel awful again.  Then wind up on different medication, and around and around it all goes again.  Be a turtle.  Slow down.  HOLD means no changes.  No skipping days of doses.  Just staying put.

 

You are aware of why taper by 10% of my dosage

10% of 2.5 mg is 2.25 mg.

And I think you just went down to 1.25 mg, which is a 50% reduction, from your previous dose.  Yikes!!!   And don't just skip doses willy nilly.  That will throw your nervous system off.  This isn't your first go around with olanzapine.  You've got to let your system get some stability.

Unless I read that wrong. 

What size pill do you have?

1/2 of a 5 mg pill would be 2.5 mg.  So maybe you are HOLDING at this dose.

Please clarify your dose change on 1 August. 

(and I just counted back 19 days, when you posted before, to come up with the 19th of July,  13th of July it is!)  Hoping you were and are still on 2.5 mg of olanzapine.

And if you have not tapered again already........Yes, I think you are going well.

I just don't want you to go too fast.

 

And especially, while seeking job and possibly new living arrangement and all.......this is not the best time to be taking risks with your tapering.

You are going to need to go to liquid or weighing I think, to do smaller tapers, when the time comes.

I was searching for a job but no luck, 

I spoke to 5 employers the last month but no luck. 

 

I've had high temp and apathy. and i read this is neuroleptic malign syndrome.

I contacted doctor and he refused to answer. saying ask your doctor.

when present the syndrome then discontinue. its serious

 

If i discontinue what will come then?  then what symptoms insomnia,

the last i want.

 

OR continue tapering

 

 

The high temp which is  neuroleptic syndrome

in the morning it goes down and in the evening it goes up, I drink juices and smoothies.

also as you know one of my favorite activities is the gym, i spend 1 hour and it helps me take away stress.

and my hobby. and for now  OFF.

Where are you at with your olanzapine tapering right now?  What dose, in mg.  Are you at 1.25 mg now, or 2.5 mg?

Have you been able to see a doctor, any doctor, regarding your fevers, as yet?

I need to encourage you to do so, Miko789.......as fever and apathy,  could be due to an infection of some kind too.

And I am familiar with neuroleptic malignant syndrome, and yes, that is very serious.  How long have you had fevers? 

I don't want you to jump to worst case scenario's for yourself right now.   There is more to the neuroleptic malignant syndrome that just fever and apathy.  I mean I know how we get sometimes, with worry, and I don't wish to undermine your concerns.  Glad you are updating and posting.

 

Your disappointment must be very tough too.  Again, I am so sorry on the no job, as yet.  This will sound trite, I'm sure, I'll risk it though..........there will be other options on jobs for you Miko789.  There will be.  And possibly better options.

I've read about it, just like you.  I think it has some crossover, or similarities to serotonin syndrome.   I may have seen a case, in it's severest form........in my past life, so to speak.  I used to work in critical care pediatrics.  Many moons ago.  

No, I'm not recommending CT, right now Miko.   And really, as a peer counselor, moderator.......I can only make suggestions and point you to information.  Hold your hand and such. ❤️ Share my own experiences and those gleaned from moderating for awhile now.

Im on 2,5mg 

I had lots of ups and down in these  3 motnhs .

 

 

After  3 months of olanzapine,   these 3 months  had plenty of  activities,   acknowledging  and re evaluating and  self awareness, change of environment and away   having said that

 

How many months  it takes for recovery  from the  psychotic episode? How did you manage?

exercise and sauna sessions help detox body from toxins, I always take 1 lt water in the sauna and have it beside me to sip, I stayed last time 15min max wet sauna, . Just be cautions don't take cold shower aftewards leave body to cool off natural. and not in winter.

my laptop and cell phone crashed operating system, and don't charge took it to service changed the usb adapter but no luck. I said to malakas , you broke it, no guarantee.

Concentration issues are a common side effect of the drug.

 

We can't say how long it takes to recover from a psychotic episode. It's not like a cold. It's important for you to get regular sleep and stay as calm as possible.

 

Good to hear you've taken up those wonderful activities, they can help a lot. Do you live with your father? Can you speak to a social worker about your problems with him?

I take it 10pm sometimes 9pm. Fatigue and sweating before and after taking it.

Hi, ive been hit by horrible wd,  or is it relapse,I dont think I going to recover. Its really bad. I'm sick, flu like symptoms temp, headache,sweating, numbness.dp, in feet and st in hands at night, , Lucid dreaming numbness and twitches is it serious?, stamina is evaporating, physical, psychic, mental fatigue, I went to neurologist and he said some shadows in the mri. I endured 4 months for me and my pets but in two days my parents return, No stamina to confront people, Can't go to the gym now, I did  bloodwork , eveything, B12,B6,D,C, LDLHDL, something not right, getting  results on Friday loosing muscle mass, what to do?  

I went to psychiatrist and think it was bad idea.and he prescribed abilify 10.  worried  if same story repeats again 6months  but no maybe no. about what I read about worse effects it cause  diarrhoea, nausea,  de-personalisation, restlessness, psychosis, joint pain, depression, rage, crying, daytime sleepiness.

I went to the drug store and they sell similar substance drug other brand,....

is it over the counter? Any website I can get it from the internet? Im a bit confused what to do

What do you mean by "muscle wasting"? Are you losing weight? Did you gain weight while taking risperidone or olanzapine for 6 years?

Andy on here quit successfully and wrote quite a lot about it.  I believe Holly57 is doing well off it too.
