I never really read much about him nor read any of his books but knew of him from the many other self help authors I was 'in to'. He died recently and I understand that he had been incapacitated to some extent from a stroke some time ago.

I don't know how I got there but today I found myself on his fb page and was surprised to find a recent post. Apparently someone is posting to his page and his followers are appreciative. This message was posted recently and if you are interested, now is the time to load up on his books:

"Thank you all so much for your outpouring of LOVE for Dr. Wayne Dyer! Many of you are saying you want to spend the month reading Wayne's books, so we have requested that Amazon, Apple, and Nook lower the eBook prices on ALL of his eBooks from Hay House to $1.99.

Here are the locations where you can purchase Wayne Dyer's memoir, I Can See Clearly Now for $1.99: Amazon (http://amzn.to/RiEQgU), Apple (http://apple.co/1KIPDt1), and Nook (http://bit.ly/1NasxNF)."

I purchased his memoir as noted above for $1.99 from amazon.

July 2016 I have decided to leave my story here at SA unfinished. I have left my contact information in my profile for anyone who wishes to talk to me. I have a posting history spanning nearly 4 years and 3000+ posts all over the site.

Thank you to all who participated in my recovery. I'll miss talking to you but know that I'll be cheering you on from the sidelines, suffering and rejoicing with you in spirit, as you go on in your journey.

When I was in my early 20's and still used to borrow books from my local library, I came home one day with what I thought was "Your Erogenous Zones" by Dr. Wayne Dyer.

When I started reading it, I realized it wasn't what I thought it was, it was like nothing I'd ever read or heard about before and I couldn't put it down. It awakened me to the possibility of being able to think about my own thoughts and have some control over them, this had never occurred to me before.

It was the beginning of my addiction to self help books. The actual title of the book was Your Erroneous Zones

His books and other work has helped a lot of people.

Thanks for posting this CW.

I'm not a doctor.  My comments are not medical advise. These are my opinions based on my own experience and what I've learned. Please discuss your situation with a medical practitioner who has knowledge of tapering and withdrawal...if you are lucky enough to find one.

My Introduction Thread

Full Drug and Withdrawal History

Brief Summary

Several SSRIs for 13 years starting 1997 (for mild to moderate partly situational anxiety) Xanax PRN ~ Various other drugs over the years for side effects

2 month 'taper' off Lexapro 2010

Short acute withdrawal, followed by 2 -3 months of improvement then delayed protracted withdrawal

DX ADHD followed by several years of stimulants and other drugs trying to manage increasing symptoms

Failed reinstatement of Lexapro and trial of Prozac (became suicidal)

May 2013 Found SA, learned about withdrawal, stopped taking drugs...healing begins.

Protracted withdrawal, with a very sensitized nervous system, slowly recovering as time passes

Supplements which have helped: Vitamin C, Magnesium, Taurine

Bad reactions: Many supplements but mostly fish oil and Vitamin D

June 2016 - Started daily juicing, mostly vegetables and lots of greens.

Aug 2016 - Oct 2016 Best window ever, felt almost completely recovered

Oct 2016 -Symptoms returned - bad days and less bad days.

April 2018 - No windows, but significant improvement, it feels like permanent full recovery is close.

Oliver Sacks also died this past week.  Author of "Awakenings" as well as some other fabulous writings.
