Miguel: benzo and Buspar

After use bromazepan low dose prescribed to mitigate digestive discomfort got panic attack after a week of stop it. Never use drugs not even sleeping pills. The nightmare started when after the panic attack, big insomnia recurrent bad thoughts. Went to psych and the nightmare started. Was prescribed zoloft and lorazepan lowest dose for two months didn't work. Then Remeron for a week not help. Stop all meds not much of taper done. Was in hell for three months with all this mix. Almost lost my job. 

 

Last three weeks was put on clonazepan 0.5 and buspar 7.5. got better sleep but want to quit this evil drugs. Dr say to continuous for another month and get more stable and then taper at 25%. Worried about been exposed to benzos for more than 6 months total feeling like crap.

 

please any suggestion will be welcome!

Some of the other mods are more knowledgeable than I am about the drugs you have mentioned, so I won't discuss those.

 

However, I can get you started by asking you to create your drug signature.

 

Please use the following format:

 

Would you summarize your history in a signature - ALL drugs, doses, dates, and discontinuations & reinstatements, in the last 12-24 months particularly?

• Please leave out symptoms and diagnoses.
• A list is easier to understand than one or multiple paragraphs. 

• Any drugs prior to 24 months ago can just be listed with start and stop years.
• Please use actual dates or approximate dates (mid-June, Late October) rather than relative time frames (last week, 3 months ago)
• Spell out months, e.g. "October" or "Oct."; 9/1/2016 can be interpreted as Jan. 9, 2016 or Sept. 1, 2016.
• Link to Account Settings – Create or Edit a signature.

I've been taking Clonazepan 0.5 MG and Buspar 0.75 MG twice a day too for 2 months. 

Want to quit both meds. 

Can I taper both at the same time?

If not .Which one would be recommended first?

Heard that Buspar can be stopped cold turkey not taper needed. Is that true?

My Dr recommends 25% taper weekly (read on this site 10%...). How I do it on 1 MG on the clonazepan pill.
