fuerza
Withdrawal can rear it's ugly head many months later, especially if you tapered multiple drugs. Your CNS is sensitive and needs time to heal. Valdoxan meddles with serotonin somehow, but not in the same way as SSRIs (Zoloft belongs to this class), it's another class of drugs. You can see my drug history and exact tapering dates from my signature. Do you drink alcohol, coffee or eat sugar, MSG-rich foods, gluten etc? Do you smoke? When are the adrenaline surges the worst? In the mornings, during the day or in the evenings? Or are they the same throughout the day? Please get your liver tested. It may have nothing to do with you withdrawal, but Valdoxan is especially dangerous to the liver. fuerza
I would say withdrawal is normal, even with delay. It may the multiple psych drugs or just Valdoxan. Unfortunately, there are only a few people on this forum who have taken Valdoxan. Maybe one of the mods can weigh on on receptor activity of Zoloft and Valdoxan because right now my attention span is just too short to read about it and fully understand the difference between SNRIs and Valdoxan. Both affect serotonin and noradrenaline, but Valdoxan is considered an atypical antidepressant. I can't tell you when your symptoms peak unfortunately. In the past I've taken sleeping pills with no problems. Quit cold turkey and felt better afterwards. I was given them again when I stayed in a hospital and I felt very anxious afterwards. I had trouble with SSRIs/SNRIs from the start and coming off of them was bad. Benzos gave some relief, but put me in a very bad position long term. No one can really predict what happens to a person who takes psych drugs and what happens if the person stops taking them. Some do fine, some experience mild discomfort and some go through very hard times. Are you sure you're experiencing adrenaline surges? I've had cortisol surges in the morning and I found that liposomal vitamin C helped me. Of course, as it is with supplements, you need to tread carefully. You can see my signature right underneath my post. fuerza
First cut (50%) was mixed with my Effexor withdrawal and it was probably a mixed response. The cuts I made last year weren't bad at all. I cut from 4,5mg to 4mg this January and had a surge in anxiety and panic. I guessed this was because of the low dose and also the fact that I'm also on a benzo. The easier and smaller cuts made me a bit restless, but in a positive way. I also craved cigarettes more and I stabilised quite fast. fuerza
I really can't answer this because this is different for everyone. It may be a bad wave that passes in a few weeks. You're going to make it. fuerza
I know the feeling. Healing is not going to happen in days or weeks. When you talk about 'peaks', you may be talking about windows. There are plenty of people who get windows (or peaks) several months after they've taken the drug and then go into a wave again. In time, the waves become shorter as your brain heals and finally the window/wave pattern seems to disappear. Oxazepam 2x10mg Dec 2015 - Jan 2016 (basically CT but no apparent symptoms); June 2016 - Feb 2017 (c/o to Valium) Current: Valdoxan 25mg Dec 2015 - Sept 2016. 12.4mg (Sept - Nov '16) -> 11.86mg (Nov '16) -> 10.75mg (Dec '16) -> 9.75mg (Jan '17) -> 8mg (March '17) -> 7mg (April '17) -> 4.5mg (May '17) -> 4mg (Jan '18) -> updosed to 4.5mg in the end of January Valium (liquid form) 8.5mg Feb 2017. 7.6mg (June '17) -> 7.2mg (June '17) -> 6.8mg (July '17) -> 6.4 (Sept '17) -> 6.2 (March '18) -> 6 (April 7 '18) -> 5.8 (April 17 '18) -> 5.6 (April 26 '18) -> 5.4 (July 16 '18) -> 5.2 (March '20) -> 5 (March '20)What to take away from all this: if you feel extremely sick only after a few doses of an AD, please tell your doctor and just stop. fuerza
Rick, did you go through the pinned topics? There are no averages. Some people go cold turkey, some taper a few months, some for a year and some for years. Please go through the pinned topics on the main boards. AliG is one member who went C/T off Valdoxan. She used to be a moderator, but is currently taking a break from SA. You can go through her thread and read about her experiences. However, please keep in mind that none of us have absolute answers for you. Everyone's history is so different. Not only regarding the med history, but also the issues they were prescribed the meds for. Take your time to read about wtihdrawal. The information is all here on the boards. fuerza
I think that's how Valdoxan works. However, I'm nt at all qualified at these subjects. Maybe someone else can weigh in? I'd also appreciate it because I'm very confused as to why it's an atypical instead of an SNRI.
