Hi I increased my escitalopram 6 weeks ago from 10mg to 20mg with good effect initially. For the last few weeks I have been terrible though! I need to drop down ideally to 15mg, at least to start with. Can anyone advise if it would be safe to just drop down overnight, escpecially since Its only been 6 weeks in.  Any advice would be welcome. Thanks

Welcome to SA Sooboo56

According to the medical literature, anyone that's been taking an antidepressant for more than a month is at risk for withdrawal symptoms.  An overnight drop would be inadvisable

We recommend tapering by no more than 10% of your current dose (20mg) every four weeks.  Getting to 15mg should take you around 3 months.

This link is specifically about tapering Lexapro, including information about how to obtain the small doses you'll need for the 10% taper, either using a liquid, making your own liquid, or weighing with a scale such as the AWS Gemini-20 available on Amazon.
