( I am VERY tell it like it is with my doc - how else will he know how i feel) He said no, its different 4 everyone, but tht the way u guys have advised me to do it is working well so stay with it! I asked 4 liquid lexapro to taper & he said they dont make it just to cut my 5mg tabs down! Wasnt real secure so i saw a second 1 today & he saaid i seem to b in good health - tht everything i am experiencing is from the lexaapro! I was wondering if i had a ministroke. But he said it'll just take time & if i dont feel ready to listen to my body! LADYBUGQT Link to comment

ladybugqt
Well, today I dropped my dosage of lexapro for the last time! Went to 1.3mg from 2.5mg - as per doctors' advice (I thought I could just stop from there [2.5] guess he said that was way too much of a change) 2 weeks to a month - he said my body will let me know when it's safe to stop all together! This has been a long, emotionally & physically exhausting, rollercoaster of an experience. Who knew? This sick for this long from a simple anti deppressant? Thank u all for ur continuing support, encouragement, & prayers! GOD HEARS YA! THANKING HIM FOR MAKING ME BETTER ~ in his time! Wish me luck! Loving my life & the people in it!! ♥ !! Not looking forward to the pattern though. I know u'll think i'm crazy - hell, i'd have to agree - but everytime I drop in dose for the 1st 2-3 days i feel like the old me (its a tease) then for the next week its migraines, insomnia, negativity, crying, hardly any voice, panic attacks, heart flutters... Moderator Emeritus tezza Posted July 19, 2012 Moderator Emeritus Share Posted July 19, 2012 Hi ladybugqt, Alto is so right about getting the liquid. Your tapers would be so much easier, more precise. Getting liquid Risperdal was a lifesaver for me, I don't think I could have made it this far without it. It makes it easier to make very small decreases so I am literally sneaking it away from my brain. I hope you continue to do well and get better and better. Administrator Altostrata Posted August 18, 2012 Administrator Share Posted August 18, 2012 Keep taking 1mg Lexapro for a few weeks, to get your system settled down. You didn't fail, your system wants you to go slower. Your system is very sensitive to small changes in Lexapro. You need to taper more precisely. Buy Lexapro liquid or make Lexapro liquid to go down further. Take it with food to avoid stomach upset. Don't switch to something else at this point. This is not medical advice. ladybugqt
I VALUE YOUR ADVICE & OPINIONS, but ultimately - I know my body & what i'm going thru. I have decided - with my doctor - to try zoloft for a few months and quit from there. I take my 1st 1 tonight. I was on zoloft for years & the only adverse reaction i had to it was a low sex drive. I had no problem going off of it. I talked it over w my doctor, husband, and mom and we all think it's worth a try. We will be monitoring it closely, and my doc knows my ultimate goal is to be anti depressant & reaction free! This week has been the worst ive ever had. My mom thinks i need to be in the hospital, & im so depressed my hubby is scared to leave me home alone. In my eyes this is worth a try! I just wanna be ME again! Strong & positive!
