I was put on it for worsening heartburn in 2019 before I ever was discontinued off my psych meds. I wanted to get off it recently but heartburn has been worse so they told me to get an EGD. Now I need another tests. I just keep finding out things wrong with my body since I was CT. Im supposed to be on 5 different diets. Ive dysautonomia really bad. If I get gastric emptying testing they are going to tell me to take more meds and if I say no then Im non compliant.

Has anyone had multiple symptoms of dysautonomia and recovered? Im so tired of finding out all these things are wrong with me since a psych CT me after 18 years of meds. I want to heal.

It is so frustrating finding one problem after another.

I have no idea if this helps at all but I got the gastric emptying test. I passed barely. My stomach is alright but I cant speck for my intestines. Yes I have read about people who have heal from it. It took months to years when they reported on it. That aside if you have it and are scared of meds like me. Depending on how bad it is there is some things you can do. If you are able, eat smoothies (fruits and veggies if you can). I have lived off them for months. You will have very loose stool but it should come out. If you have not pooped in days and are getting worried use a laxative. There are some low risk laxatives for us. You may be able to tolerate Senokot. Try not to rely on laxatives. Over use of them my lead to problems but it is better than bowel obstruction. Try to rely on diet. I see you have to eat very specific foods. If you can eat stuff that makes you poop. Prunes, Prune Juice. I have heard Pear baby food works good for some. At any rate a bowel movement is always a good sign. normal bowel movement is one a day to three a week.

If you are worried about being "non compliant" you can take the med the give you and not use them or you can say you are very sensitive to medication and can have severe reaction. You can add that you want to get a second opinion. You may be able to not follow up and get away with it. One example on guy gave is that he would get blisters in his mouth and genitals. I don't know if they believed him but he got away with it.

I took AD for only 3 weeks and had overactive bladder for this time (and other symptoms). So I canceled it and everything became much worse. It seems I'm healing slowly now but the strongest symptom is bladder/urethra.

25 November 2020 - 22 December 2020 - Zoloft (3 weeks - 12.5 mg, 1 week - 25 mg); 1 January 2021 - Zoloft (12.5 mg)

Yeah have that too. Sometimes a cold pack or putting heat on the area helps. Or sitting in a hot bath. It doesn't help the urination but it does help the clitoral pain.

I was on meds for 18 years and cold turkeyed by a psych 4/2021. In july that pain started. I got back on lexapro 5mg in september but couldnt handle it. Decreased to 2.5mg couldnt handle it so started tapering. At 2mg i started to be able to have some sexual activity but kept tapering due to side effects. Pain started coming back at 1.5mg and came back full force when I hit 0mg on jan 14th. Same with dysautonomia. No improvements.

I have heard some people find relief by inserting their finger into their ****** and pushing or massaging the wall towards their rectum and avoiding the nerve ending towards the top/front. This doesn't work for everyone. For some it can aggravate symptoms.

Well specifically the vagus nervous system not working well, I believe. It can happen for about any medication that causes your WD as far as I am aware.

I'm sure the gabapentin does help. It is not as extreme as others have it I have found. And I do not have it constantly. It never occurred to me that the gabapentin may have dulled it. I assumed I have just been lucky so far in that it wasn't horrid (shoot now I have to worry about an increase in that if I ever get off Gabapentin) But I can not say for sure. I was put on gabapentin before the symptom showed up.

Thank you for your input. I believe I have a combination of pssd and pgad, and pudendal nerve pain. I do feel hopeless. I do not want to lose years of my life unable to physically love my husband, and be in pain...and the dysautonomia is horrific.

People have had their pgad clear up. There is no reason your's can't too. Downstairs symptoms seem to take time. Do your best with the health you have.

I stopped taking meloxicam on Jan 26th. Since then, I have had increasingly worse widespread muscle pain. I have scoliosis and my cervical curve is a little reversed so Ive had headaches and been on NSAIDs as long as I can remember.

Im starting to feel like I have fibromyalgia. Is this something that can be from withdrawal and go away?

Is it possible Ive had fibromyalgia and didnt know because of SSRIs and NSAIDs?

I also didnt really get any feedback about mild gastroparesis. They want me to get testing and go on a dopamine antagonist and stay on omeprazole. I want to get off omeprazole but they tell me I cant have chronic heartburn. What if it is contributing to gastroparesis?

I am so close to giving up and reinstating but I fear permanent tinnitus and sexual dysfunction.

Hello, @Lindseyb We can't offer you any advice about going off meloxicam, it's not a psychiatric drug and we don't know anything about it.

We can't diagnose fibromyalgia. We don't know anything about gastroparesis, either, or any of those drugs recommended for it.  Are you still taking a half-dozen other drugs?

This is not medical advice. Discuss any decisions about your medical care with a knowledgeable medical practitioner.

You'll get more responses in a community for people being treated with meloxicam or for gastroparesis. There probably are such on Facebook.

Did you quit Lexapro when you were taking 0.5mg? Did you get new symptoms after that?

and tapering off of lexapro 0.5mg every 4 weeks

This seems too fast. We recommend a 10% monthly reduction in dose.

- Escitalopram 10mg from ages 15 - 21

- Severe crash after 4 month taper to 0

- Reinstated, stabilized, slowly tapering.

Small dose reinstatement might alleviate withdrawal symptoms.

If I was in your situation and were to reinstate, I would reinstate an extremely small dose, like 0.1mg

I would then monitor my symptoms and see if I would need to go up a bit in my dose or just hold until stable.

Always slowly and carefully, no big changes all at once.

I understand. Ive been in withdrawal since April 2021. The lexapro was to try to stabilize me and while it helped with my nerve pain and dysautonomia, it didnt pull me out of withdrawal. I didnt know it was helping and I was afraid the tinnitus and ear ringing would be permanent. Also afraid of permanent sexual dysfunction.

I get the urge to reinstate because of dysautonomia and genital nerve pain, but who says even if i did reinstate and stabilize, i wont wind up right back here again when i taper off for the 2nd time?

I was cold turkeyed by a psychiatrist last April. I didnt get a chance to do it right. I didnt fully stabilize on lexapro. Maybe I shouldve given it more time but the tinnitus, ear ringing, and risk of permanent sexual dysfunction scared me. Now Im back to no sexual activity again because my genitals hurt so bad.

If you reinstate and then taper off extremely slowly and cautiously while consistently getting good sleep and avoiding alcohol, you will definitely not struggle as much. It's possible you would have little to no withdrawal symptoms by doing this.

If I were you, I would reinstate 0.1mg and closely monitor my symptoms, but this is just my personal view and not medical advice.

Is there a possibility the tinnitus it gave me could be permanent?
