Hi, I'm a new member. I've been on prozac for 24 years and went CT 2 1/2 months ago. I thought I could do this myself but I've had some bad side effects and now a new dr who might want me to go back on again, but I don't know if I do or not. Seeing him tomorrow, will see.

Prozac 20 mg day for depression in my 30's

Prozac 40 mg day for peri-menopause

Stayed on it for real menopause, can't take HRT.

tried many other SSRI, and some other antidepressants, but awful side effects, so went back on the Prozac.

Prozac poop-out, I think in 2012

Prozac side effects, I think, zombie foggy thinking, depression returned.

Quit cold turkey Prozac on 3/17/13 thought I could do this.

Might have ADD, so now on Adderall 10mg day to start, no changes yet.

Don't know the future, what a way to live life

Hello,
I am tapering Lorazepam, and my daily dose is 1.125 mgs.

I followed a long hold for 5 months, ( Nov-March 2019) hoping to find some stability,

but it did not work. So I resumed my taper and hold pattern.
For the last 3 years, I have been using a daily microtaper, cutting .001mgs per day, with holds as needed.
Symptoms are head pressure, labored breathing, palpitations, abrupt surges of dizziness, this being my worst symptom for now, internal tremors, my latest nemesis, unsteadiness, anxiety, plus many other symptoms that cycle in, and cycle out consistently. Not a day passes, without grief :(

I take no other meds.

January 2013 - 15 day quick taper off 10 mgs of Lexapro, and 25 mgs of Sertraline,

at a detox clinic.

Hi Windyaaa

Welcome to the forum. How much Prozac were you on before you went cold turkey? What symptoms are you having?

Within 1-3 months of a cold turkey, reinstating a small dose of the SSRI can often help to alleviate the withdrawal symptoms - you would not reinstate at your full previous dose, but at a lesser amount. You would then stay on that dose until you become stable and then taper off. If more than 3 months passes this solution is less likely to be predictable and may not work.

Hi Karma, I did do my drug history, but it doesn't show up. I've been on Prozac for 24 years. I wanted to finally come off b/c of feeling stupid zombie feeling most of the time. I was on 20 then 40 mg. I went off cold turkey march 17, 2013 and went to see my new dr yesterday, he said I might have ADD so we are trying Adderall 10 mg now. I don't feel any difference yet, just took one yesterday and today. Side effects of heart palpatations, diaherra, and dry mouth now. I go see dr again tomorrow and see what he says about this new med. Thanks so much for reply to me......I don't feel so much alone now.....I was crying this morning and feeling self pity. What a way to live life huh? Windy

Welcome, windy.

What are your symptoms?

If you have withdrawal symptoms from Prozac, taking Adderall can make them worse.
