Miyaga Posted September 1, 2013 Share Posted September 1, 2013 New member and my first post.I have been on Effexor for 10 years and had NO IDEA that I was not to take Ibuprofen with it. Ibuprofen has been my pain reliever of choice and I have often taken it at night with the A/D to help me relax if I have any inflammation. I have learned so much in the 2 days I have visited this site. I admit that much of what I have learned is frightening. Thank you. Link to comment
Miyaga Posted September 1, 2013 Author Share Posted September 1, 2013 I just opened a 75 mg cap of TEVA USA Venlafaxine HCL ER and there are 76 beads. I want to start tapering from 150 mg, so am eliminating 15 beads. Seems incredibly simple. Can it be this easy? (well, the tapering part). Link to comment

The number of beads is not consistent from capsule to capsule. This will become important when you are tapering by fewer beads. This is not medical advice. There is a drug interaction warning for it, Google "Effexor and Ibuprofen" ... see if you have any of the symptoms ... I think you will find that you don't. My pdoc warned me about the drug interaction before I had oral surgery recently. I took ibuprofen anyway, but in lesser amounts than the prescribed amounts and I didn't have any problems.
