Deadly Medicines and Organised Crime: How Big Pharma Has Corrupted Healthcare

A very excellent and damning interview that was also heartbreaking (all over again) for me to listen to. I've seen more harm and pain and suffering caused by these drugs both in myself and in the 1000s of people who have chosen to share their experience with me. We need to stop this genocide.

Yes, how can people not see this? Peter Gøtzsche is both sober and practical. Please watch.

I watched it Gia. Very concerning and upsetting. The presentation was at Dartmouth and so well attended. It just makes me wonder if any of these presentations can't help but get doctors thinking.

Ive got my hands full with this klonopin. But i did have 4 different ADs prescribed to me about 12 years ago. I'm going to say, fortunately, they made me so sick with nausea, drowsiness, and anxiety that would not relent my doctor gave up the idea of me tolerating them.

I am so glad of my reaction to them. I really "dodged" something there.

Marie

On Xanax 10 years for anxiety, 2 mgs, night only. Attempted my own taper w/o understanding the dependency issues.

Researched and then understood the need for longer half life med. Doctor crossed me from X to klonopin 4 times in 6 months. Last time on X, she up dosed me to 3 mgs X.

On last cross attempt, ended up in ER with profound w/d sx from X. Got new doctor. Final cross to K, structured, slow was completed 6/5/12-12/5/12.

Attempting liquid micro taper from K. Difficulty with micro cuts; significant w/d sx requiring several weeks of holding after each cut. Also concerned if it's possible to use pill/liquid combo for dosing.

Hope I Meet Other Benzo Taperers Here! I have tried ADs in past. Could not tolerate them, gave up trying, none for over 12 years.

Peter Gøtzsche is fantastic!  What he is saying if very bold.  If big pharma takes him seriously he may need a body guard because if enough people start to question all the deaths from medicine their cash cow is at risk.  It takes courage to call a spade a spade - I like this guy.

That he is speaking out and that the other medical professionals in attendance who were interviewed seemed to get it, gives me hope.

Thanks for sharing this, GiaK.

I watched it from the actual youtube site, because I like things to get saved to my history.  At first it gave me hope, until I noticed that its an 'unlisted' video and you have to have the link in order to watch it, so, its never going to come up randomly as a suggestion for people watching similar videos.

There is also a warning which pops up discouraging people from sharing it.

Thank you for sharing it, I downloaded it just in case it disappears.

I'm not a doctor.  My comments are not medical advise. These are my opinions based on my own experience and what I've learned. Please discuss your situation with a medical practitioner who has knowledge of tapering and withdrawal...if you are lucky enough to find one.

My Introduction Thread

Full Drug and Withdrawal History

Brief Summary

Several SSRIs for 13 years starting 1997 (for mild to moderate partly situational anxiety) Xanax PRN ~ Various other drugs over the years for side effects

2 month 'taper' off Lexapro 2010

Short acute withdrawal, followed by 2 -3 months of improvement then delayed protracted withdrawal

DX ADHD followed by several years of stimulants and other drugs trying to manage increasing symptoms

Failed reinstatement of Lexapro and trial of Prozac (became suicidal)

May 2013 Found SA, learned about withdrawal, stopped taking drugs...healing begins.

Protracted withdrawal, with a very sensitized nervous system, slowly recovering as time passes

Supplements which have helped: Vitamin C, Magnesium, Taurine

Bad reactions: Many supplements but mostly fish oil and Vitamin D

June 2016 - Started daily juicing, mostly vegetables and lots of greens.

Aug 2016 - Oct 2016 Best window ever, felt almost completely recovered

Oct 2016 -Symptoms returned - bad days and less bad days.

April 2018 - No windows, but significant improvement, it feels like permanent full recovery is close.

it's not going to disappear...it's a Mad in America video...which I didn't know when I shared it...since Open Paradigm Project tweeted it before they made it unlisted...but I agree that it should be made as widely available as possible.
