Hello, my name is Santiago, and I am 20 years old.

I was first diagnosed with schizophrenia back in the hospital in the year 2013 (last year) in March and stayed there until May. I have since that point in time suffered tremendously because of anitpsychotics and also other things, but antipsychotics have damaged me cerebrally up to today and I am looking for support to get off the drugs and to get my life back together. I am also a strong Christian and if there is anyone of that stripe here i need support for my faith as it is critical. I am on a treatment order and I live in Alberta, I want to appeal and get out of it and need your help, the anhedonia has become severe and I am feeling sicker sometimes. I got off medications until this past january, and now I am back on it again and want to get off because I am seeing decline and no improvement.

Welcome, Santiago.

This group has suddenly gotten a lot of new members at once, so do be patient while the moderators get to know and greet everyone.

I'm sorry you've had such problems with your meds. In order for this group to offer help, could you create a "signature" that will give us a brief history of the timeline of the meds you've been on (especially in recent years), especially the names of the meds, dates started and stopped, as well as how you stopped (taper method, if any, or "cold turkey" of just stopping the med). Be sure to include the medications you're now back on with all information of how many times you were on each med and the dates.

I believe better instructions for creating a signature are in this thread: http://survivingantidepressants.org/index.php?/topic/893-please-put-your-withdrawal-history-in-your-signature/

(Mods, please correct that link if it's not the most current or relevant.)

Again, welcome to SA.

I was "TryingToGetWell" (aka TTGW) on paxilprogress. I also was one of the original members here on Surviving Antidepressants

I had horrific and protracted withdrawal from paxil, but now am back to enjoying life with enthusiasm to the max, some residual physical symptoms continued but largely improve. The horror, severe derealization, anhedonia, akathisia, and so much more, are long over.

My signature is a temporary scribble from year 2013. I'll rewrite it when I can.

If you want to read it, click on http://survivingantidepressants.org/index.php?/topic/209-brandy-anyone/?p=110343

Hi Santiago,

Welcome, and thank you for posting an introduction. You can use this thread as your ongoing journal to track progress and communicate with the community, add to it whenever you want. I'm sorry to hear of everything you have been going through.

As Brandy has mentioned, we need to know a little more about your drug history and putting all that information in your signature is a good way to do it. Putting a short version of your drug and tapering history in your signature helps people understand your context, it appears below each of your posts.  The link Brandy posted for you is good.

We have a  Finding meaning  forum where you can discuss your faith related to drugs and withdrawal.

Once you get back to us with more details about your drug history, we will be in a better position to offer support and suggestions.  You will find a lot of friendly help and support here.

Petu.

I'm not a doctor.  My comments are not medical advise. These are my opinions based on my own experience and what I've learned. Please discuss your situation with a medical practitioner who has knowledge of tapering and withdrawal...if you are lucky enough to find one.
