Rozon1
thank you @Junglechicken I needed to hear that. I’m spiraling out of control which will probably lead me into reinstatement. The problem is I’m 3 months past so not sure it’ll benefit me. Example: 2018 - Started Effexor 37.5 in Janurary of 2018 2019 January, 2nd - Cold Turkeyed from Effexor for 3 days. Reinstated on the third day, then stabilized(It took 3 months to stabilize) 2019 June - I switched from Effexor instant release to Extended Release 37.5 for better tapering. I tapered to 50% in 4 weeks before reinstating my dosage back to 37.5(due to withdrawls). I waited 2 months to stabilize but never did at 37.5 2019 September - continued to taper in to 25% on extended release 2019 October - continued to taper to half of the beads(18.75mg)... WIthdrawls were so bad I tried switching back to the instant release at the same dosage(18.75mg) 2019 November 28th - Discontinued effexor at 18.75 without anymore tapering. 2020 January - Just can't sleep, have constipation, low libido and still lack of full emotion Link to comment

One of the mistakes people make in w/d is to believe that there are "hard and fast rules" that apply in some kind of mathematical way. It's so far from the truth it's hard to explain. I have seen people reinstate after a month and fail. I have seen people reinstate after a year or more and do famously. 3 months is a generalization and should not be viewed as if cast in stone. If you are truly suffering then, as JC suggests, trying a reinstatement at 1mg is certainly worth the effort. It may fully work, partially work or not work at all, but you should certainly give it a shot. If you have no reaction you can slowly titrate up. If you have an adverse reaction you can abandon the experiment. Best of luck and keep us posted. Best, Andy Sertraline 50mg and Clonazapam .375mg from 2000 -- symptoms of dizziness Spring 2012 increased to .5 Clonazapam and 100mg Sertraline -- no improvement Benzo microtaper from November 2012 to November 2014 (followed benzo sites "taper benzo first") Started Sertraline taper in December 2014 cut by 25mg to 75mg; 62.5mg 1/1/15 and 50mg on 2/1/15 Held at 50mg through April 5 to use liquid Reduced dosage in 10% or less drops from 50mg to 25mg -- at single tablet of 25mg on 10/5/15 Transitioned to all liquid for accuracy while tapering -- Horrible insomnia -- back to 25mg liquid and held until October 1, 2016 10/16 -- 11/18 tapered very slowly to 10.6mg. No real improvement and never really stable so updosed to 12.5mg (1/2 a pill) for convenience and long hold. Rozon1
Hey @Junglechicken thanks. I’m just afraid being back on the drug again and being dependent on it if I try too long and it does nothing. Then I gotta taper off. hey @apace41 how have you been? How are your symptoms? Still holding? have you seen people reinstate months later that had physical symptoms that subsided? Junglechicken
More of a general update. I learned in therapy this week, that my brother is a narcissist too - oh joy. Junglechicken
The muscle I tore in my right calf about 2 months ago, is still giving me issues. Yoga seems to aggravate it, and I had to take ibuprofen after the yoga session this morning. Wondering if this is part of the WD deal, muscles don't repair as easily, or maybe its to do with aging? Dose History: 19 Feb 2014 - Escitalopram 10mg daily June 2015 - Started taper, 5mg every other day July 2015 - 5mg every 2 days August 2015 - 5mg every 3 days September 2015 - 5mg every 4 days Sept 14th - Completed tapering, but at 7 weeks "drug free" I suffered serious WD symptoms as a consequence of "incorrect" tapering. Nov 25 2015 - Re-instated Cipralex @ 2.5mg daily. WD symptoms faded. Held at this dose and experienced "windows and waves". 12 Oct 2017 Reduced dose to 1.25mg. 13 Mar 2018 Reduced dose to 0.625mg (approx.). 16 April 2018 0mg. Best, Andy Same here Andy, I was "as fit as a fiddle", lol, for most of my life until WD hit. Our yoga/Pilates/stretch/spinning instructor is 62 yrs old (doesn't look it), very slim, had both her hips replaced too. No issues as far as I can tell. So what is our common denominator Andy? Psychiatric drug WD. Another suggestion, the brain doesn't send clear enough messages to the muscle fibres, that need repairing? Junglechicken
Just read Andy, that muscle repair involves "certain" hormones to initiate the repair process. The endocrine system is affected during WD, which MAY be our answer? See below: Testosterone, growth hormone (GH), and insulin-like growth factor (IGF-1) increase strength and stimulate muscle growth. Other hormones such as cortisol, epinephrine, norepinephrine, and glucagon increase the availability of glucose, your body's primary source of fuel. Junglechicken
Managed to get a GP appointment this morning. When I spoke to the GP re: histhamine intolerance, she knew NOTHING (!!!!) about it and suggested I speak to a NP (yup!). Managed to get her to agree to bloodwork for: Celiac, thyroid, diabetes, anaemia, full blood count and B12/folate. Check for inflammation. She said the mucus/ phlegm was due to my sinuses draining. In other words, post nasal drip. She said there was no need to have concerns over lipid levels, mine were good apparently. Once I've had the damn coil removed, it will be worth reviewing if my gut is functioning better. This lifestyle has given me my life back and I feel better than I have ever felt in my life. It has enabled me to finally get off of this medication and truly live my life. Nutrition is the key to health!!!!! 2008 to 2019 - 20 mg Paroxetine Attempted 2 CT's around the 5-6 year mark. Were absolutely terrible and reinstated. Was never explained by the doctor the seriousness of the short half life of this drug. 2017 - Attempted a tapered discontinuation of this drug and reinstated after being unsuccessful. 2019 - Feb. 12 - After a three month taper I am off of paroxetine. The 3 months were terrible, awful withdrawal feelings. I followed the doctors guidelines for the reduction of this drug and now know it was way too fast. 2019 - Oct. 12 - 8 months off paroxetine. 75% improvement since coming off the drug. Definitely have had tons of challenges along the way. Let’s go!!!! 2021 - Feb. 12 - 24 months off paroxetine. I have minor challenges now. Tinnitus/Headaches are still around but are reduced by a massive amount. Link to comment

Junglechicken
I thought so, for any ladies interested in mirena coil and gut dysbiosis; see below: https://drbrighten.com/mirena-side-effects-and-other-iud-concerns/ Bloated Belly and Other Gut Trouble I’ve seen many patients who complain of bloating after having their IUD placed. We are just at the cusp of understanding how our gut, microbiota and hormones interact, but we do know they are all intimately linked. In my practice, I’ve reviewed women’s timelines and found that all their digestive symptoms began following the IUD placement. Some of these patients have gone on to be diagnosed with SIBO, yeast overgrowth and bacterial dysbiosis. While we can not say definitely that the IUD causes digestive issues, it is definitely a symptom I tell my patients to be on the lookout for. 10. Acne, Hair Loss, and Funky Skin Symptoms Rashes, acne, eczema, growth of hair on your chin and hair loss have all been reported by women who use progestin based contraceptives. If you develop any of these then that is a sure sign that the IUD is not your friend. Junglechicken
This morning I woke up with tinnitus, but NO headache. What a relief! It's got to be down to the food eaten the day before as to whether the sinuses block up or not. The precursor is fatigue that comes out of nowhere. A general feeling of crappiness, horrible headache, tinnitus and of course gut issues. It's the histamine intolerance "package". Trying to get booked for bloodwork. 2 Dose History: 19 Feb 2014 - Escitalopram 10mg daily June 2015 - Started taper, 5mg every other day July 2015 - 5mg every 2 days August 2015 - 5mg every 3 days September 2015 - 5mg every 4 days Sept 14th - Completed tapering, but at 7 weeks "drug free" I suffered serious WD symptoms as a consequence of "incorrect" tapering. Junglechicken
"Apocalypse now"? Our surgery has stopped all face-to-face appointments, phone/prescription only. Our sports centre/gym is looking to stop all classes. The supermarket aisles are emptying out fast as I saw this morning. Hopefully my husband will get back from Dubai unscathed. My brother has had to postpone their family vacation until towards the end of the year, and schools are closed. sunnysideup69
Yep.....things are slowly shutting down. Herein London, I don't think it can be long before we see school closures. Also anticipating us going into lockdown at some point. I am social distancing from everyone because I want to see my elderly parents on Friday, infection- free. Life is just not the same, at the moment. Hope you are doing okay. My brother is slowly slipping away. January 2008 to April 2015 Citalopram 20mg to 5mg, reducing in 50 per cent leaps. Jumped off at 5mg March 2016 used MDMA triggered setback April 2016 Citalopram 10mg October 2016 cut to 5mg, May 2017 cut to 2.5mg May 2018 used MDMA triggered setback June 2018 Citalopram 2.5mg up to 10mg, then back to 5mg July/ August 2018 7.5mg, then 10mg June 2019 updosed to 20mg Citalopram August 2019 cold switch to Venlafaxine 75mg XR Supplements; 1100mg fish oil daily; also 100mg Magnesium Glycinate. Tried Vagifem 10mcg from mid May 2021 to mid June 2021; caused depression, so stopped. Link to comment

It's got to be down to the food eaten the day before as to whether the sinuses block up Nutrition is everything! I’m glad you don’t have a headache, when mine started to disappear that was one of the best feelings ever! I follow The Plant Paradox lifestyle by Dr.Gundry.

My brother is slowly slipping away. I know what you're going through with your brother Sunny. The slowness and inevitability of it all is agonising and completely devastating. Sending you many virtual hugs. Well, its been a beautiful day here in West Berkshire, I did some gardening: Pruning, fed the plants that needed it, horse **** for the roses (keeps them happy!), and some weeding. Did my stretch class this morning, and a bit of food shopping. My allotment is prepped for planting minus the manure. Gut issues not as bad today, so have to really watch what I'm eating.
