Nutrition is everything! I’m glad you don’t have a headache, when mine started to disappear that was one of the best feelings ever!

Hi Cocopuffz17,

Yes it is, there is nothing worse than the whole histamine intolerance "package".  Those headaches are worse than any headache I've ever had before.

Its all thanks to the bloody coil which has sent my gut into total dysbiosis.

BTW, my SIL is from Saskatoon, and we used to live in Calgary 👍

Yea, I have never had headaches in my life and coming off this I got absolutely rocked with the worst headaches ever for a solid 8-10 months.

When you say bloody coil what are you talking about an IUD?

Small world!

I follow The Plant Paradox lifestyle by Dr.Gundry. This lifestyle has given me my life back and I feel better than I have ever felt in my life. It has enabled me to finally get off of this medication and truly live my life. Nutrition is the key to health!!!!!

2008 to 2019  - 20 mg Paroxetine

Attempted 2 CT's around the 5-6 year mark. Were absolutely terrible and reinstated. Was never explained by the doctor the seriousness of the short half life of this drug.

2017 - Attempted a tapered discontinuation of this drug and reinstated after being unsuccessful.

2019 - Feb. 12 - After a three month taper I am off of paroxetine. The 3 months were terrible, awful withdrawal feelings. I followed the doctors guidelines for the reduction of this drug and now know it was way too fast.
2019 - Oct. 12 - 8 months off paroxetine. 75% improvement since coming off the drug. Definitely have had tons of challenges along the way. Let’s go!!!!

2021 - Feb. 12 - 24 months off paroxetine. I have minor challenges now. Tinnitus/Headaches are still around but are reduced by a massive amount.

I was naive young male and believed birth control was the end all be all for females. I now know after being on meds that effect the body I would never want a female to have **** that messes with hormones in them. It causes far too much distress that is not openly admitted. The doctors listen to the pharma companies and the pharma/medical companies don’t document the truth because it would drive down sales and effect the stocks (their bonuses in the company)

I'm hoping the "organised crime" (quote Dr Breggin) that is big pharma collaborating with doctors and psychiatry will be brought to justice, and to collapse with some BIG class action law suits!  By BIG I mean INTERNATIONAL.

Going on a rant won't help anyone, but this is what I'm hoping will be the outcome to the suffering.

This is true. Ranting won’t help. I will be contacting a few lawyers around my city and see what the validity of a case is on malpractice. I went through a ton of unneeded stuff and the medication they told me was safe was the cause of it.

Hope that goes well, can you update us on what you find out?  My AD prescription history has its roots in Canada.

I think the big pharma situation is akin to well known banking establishments losing people's pension funds/life savings.  Negligence on a massive scale.

Millions of people are affected, and the crime is committed by "fat cats" far removed from reality, who enjoy gambling.

Going to stop there, as there are amazing people out there (Dr Breggin, Laura Delano et al.,) campaigning on our behalf, NOT forgetting Altostrata who started this forum.

"Apocalypse now"?

Our surgery has stopped all face-to-face appointments, phone/prescription only.

Our sports centre/gym is looking to stop all classes.

The supermarket aisles are emptying out fast as I saw this morning.

Hopefully my husband will get back from Dubai unscathed.

My brother has had to postpone their family vacation until towards the end of the year, and schools are closed.

In the state that I live in, we’ve had 135 cases. They have tested 758 people. There are 5 positive cases in the county I live in (which is milder than the other counties). They have closed all schools, recreation buildings, city government, libraries, gyms. If you get the virus, you are to isolate yourself for 14 days or until your fever is gone for 2 days. The stores are empty. I was lucky to find a gallon of milk this morning. We have enough food for a couple of weeks (we keep our freezer stocked all the time). We actually had a fight at a store over toilet paper! My sister in law was digging out the last container of laundry detergent from a shelf and a guy came by and grabbed it from her! You can’t get cleaning supplies, hand sanitizer, toilet paper, Kleenex, napkins, even baby wipes are hard to come by.  I have my granddaughter. She came to stay with me for a few days since she’s out of school for at least 2 weeks. So, we are just doing her school online and watching movies. I wish you luck in the coming days!

PREVIOUS medications and discontinuations: Have been on medications since 1996.

Valium, Gabapentin, Lamictal, Prilosec and Zantac from 2000 to 2015 with a fast taper by a psychiatrist.

Liquid Lexapro Nov, 2016 to 31-March, 2019 Lexapro free!!! (total Lexapro taper was 4 years-started with pill form)

---CURRENT MEDICATIONS:Supplements:Milk Thistle, Metamucil, Magnesium Citrate, Vitamin D3, Levothyroxine 25mcg, Vitamin C, Krill oil.

Xanax 1mg 3x day June, 2000 to 19-September, 2020 Went from .150 grams (average weight of 1 Xanax) 3x day to .003 grams 3x day. April 1, 2021 went back on 1mg a day. Started tapering May 19, 2023. July 28, 2023-approximately .87mg. Dr. fast tapered me at the end and realized he messed up. Prescribe it again and I am doing "slower than a turtle" taper.

19-September, 2020 Xanax free!!! (total Xanax taper was 15-1/2 months-1-June, 2019-19-September, 2020)

I am not a medical professional.

The suggestions I make are based on personal experience.

Unfortunately, I know someone who gets these drugs to market 😡

Even worse, it is the daughter of a really good friend of ours.

Yes, it’s infuriating. I have watched many documentary’s on the approval processes and testing they use. Essentially they just keep doing studies till one fits their needs and “discard” of all the harmful data accumulated in the other studies.

A few were on Netflix’s. I should of wrote down the shows.

One really insightful one was this lady who used to work in big pharma and knew exactly how it functioned with the meds and how they paid doctors to sell their medications. Cherry pick data to avoid the bad stuff.

If only our friends daughter had the same morals and could see it for what it is.  However it's not fair of me to judge her.

All I know is that she is a Snr Exec/VP who has worked all over the world covering different markets, and is regularly head hunted by different companies.

I’m sure someone will make a movie out of this disaster.

Everything is closed here and I bet we will go into lockdown in the near future.

My fiancé’s work shut down for at least 2 weeks yesterday.

We had our 2nd death in our state yesterday. HA is awful 😞

I hope you’re doing ok. Keep me posted.

Take care,

 Frogie xx

I went for a long walk this morning, and switched on the radio when I got back...…….

Schools in Wales and Scotland have all closed, and they are all due to close in the UK.

Glastonbury, the UK's most famous music festival has been cancelled this year.

Another Royal wedding (Beatrice) likely to be postponed.

My husband is still in Dubai, due to fly back on Friday.  I haven't heard from him today (no news is good news?).

I'm ok apart from my b****y gut issues and HA (have taken temperature twice and steady at 36.5 degrees C), and I'm having "the thing" out tomorrow - woo hoo!

AND my MIL is panicking because her regular supermarket can't deliver food to her for 3 weeks.  She reckons she is going to starve!

Take care,

Its OUT!! 🍾👍😁

The GP was very nice and when I discussed my IBS, she explained about mood disorders causing comorbid illnesses.  Its a vicious cycle...don't we know it!

My cervix is healthy apparently (👍).

Now, my body is going to try to re-balance itself hormonally over the next few months so I'm bracing myself for the "fun" that goes with that.

I hope all goes well with rebalancing!

It’s fine. This is how people get into these situations.... we build this stigma around stuff and don’t talk about it. Exactly like mental health as well. They use the chemical imbalance theory, when in a lot of cases it is drug WD and it is devastating  but people are embarrassed to admit a mental health challenge. Which is unfortunate that society has created that.

No doubt I'm going over VERY well trodden soggy ground here, but here goes.....sorry for that.

The interesting thing about the "chemical imbalance theory" is that there were never any tests to support the supposed "CHEMICAL imbalance".

Just as, there have never been any gene matching tests that people considering going on ADs could have, to determine whether a particular type of AD will agree with their "brain / body chemistry" or not.  These drugs have been prescribed as a "one size fits all".

It was a made up "catch all" term by psychiatry and the medical profession in general, to provide an explanation for symptoms they didn't know the answer to or couldn't/wouldn't validate.

We all know on this forum that big pharma fiddled statistics which came out of the drug trials (which hadn't been given sufficient time for WD and protracted WD symptoms to come out in the wash).

If indeed they DID run trials for long enough, that DID result in protracted WD symptoms, which they then kept covered up; or psychiatry and the medical profession would never have prescribed them in the first place.

Bingo, I wish I would of thought logically about this when I went on the medication way back when. How can they say you have a lifetime imbalance if there is no test to support this theory and prove it right. It would be like saying you are low on iron without taking blood levels, you just dont do that.

Yes, it is made to make the pharma companies huge amounts of money and lifetime customers.... nothing better than that from a financial aspect.

Yea, the downright cherry picking of data and denial is infuriating.

I imagine they did and just neglected to note the negative side effects of these medications as it would effect revenue. They put money above morals which is extremely sad.

Unfortunately, I don't know enough about the pharma industry.

But what does leap out, is that it doesn't seem to be regulated, unlike other industries I have worked in.  Perhaps minimally?

Certainly morals and ethics arent on the proverbial corporate radar, if it gets in the way of share prices. I know pharma isn't the only sector guilty of this.

Maybe that's the next step for big pharma??

Once they have regulators breathing down their necks, the way things have always been done will have to change, if they aren't taken out by huge class action lawsuits beforehand?

Well what I've learned is pharma is in bed with medicine. They have pharma reps pushing drugs on doctors all the time and wining and dining them for them to sell their product. People forget that at the end of the day its a business and its massive business between healthcare and pharma.

I saw an article where they were pushing for their tolerances to be looser on medication not tighter as in the manufacturing specs don't need to be as precise. ( we both know this could be very harmful as people who have very challenging times with even microdrops)

It is mind blowing to me the more that I know about these medications. If they are required for life then why is the half-life so short? With these AD's that are under 24 hr half-lives, you literally are withdrawing all the time. Would you not want a constant rate in your blood the whole time or as minimal fluctuation as possible!  Not ping ponging back and forth. But that supports my theory that they do this to keep people on the medication long term.  If you are experiencing symptoms a few hours before you take the med and they disappear after you take the med, it just reassures you that you need it. Which you might not and just be experiencing interdose withdrawals.

In which case it would be up to the government (in the case of the UK) to enforce and impose regulations.

As our health service is procuring the drugs through GPs who each have budgets.

Pharma would get fined like any other regulated industry.

Yes, the UK has made the first steps by admitting these drugs have long term withdrawal effects. Which is great, they didn’t want to admit it. But were met with strong opposition. So thankful for all those who fought back against it!

I would be more than willing to join a demonstration in London to protest against AD prescription and WD effects / big pharma!

Yes, it will get better as more and more people show success and prove that it was these medications that did it.

That is very strong of you !!

It is also very interesting to me that when they say the drug stops working that they don't take any tests to confirm it isn't as effective or levels in the bloodstream, they just increase the dose. This leads me to think the body is not absorbing it like it used to(not poopout it is an absorption issue) I had challenges with chronic fatigue and had to take b vitamin/iron supplement and no longer take it.(because the foods I ate weren't being broke down properly or and my gut was damaged which caused poor absorption)  I know longer take them and have not had these issues since.

Hubby back safe and sound from a VERY intense business trip.  He's very tired, and thankfully NO COVID-19 symptoms.

They were lucky to get back.

More unhappy learnings in therapy on Friday.  The more I learn about the reality of my family, the more shocking it is.

Still suffering with PND, reflux and IBS.  I read that reflux can cause PND.

The GP didn't offer any solutions, and they know I don't want any of their poxy meds.  I was just told about the brain/gut connection.

Hey, that’s great he made it back!

I would read up some of Dr.Gundry’s books or videos on the web. There is a massive connection between the gut and brain between the vagus nerve. Over 80% of the serotonin in the body is created there!

Thanks Coco, he's super tired and has a lot of sleep to catch up on.  He was getting max. of 4 hrs a night over the whole week.

I know, the brain/gut connection is the "holy grail" for those of us struggling with WD.

My gut health is extremely poor ATM, which is very frustrating.

Are you seeing improvements Coco?

Dang, that is very little sleep. He definitely has time to catch up now!

I would relate alot of that to the challenges you are having. The gut controls everything. They foods we eat have a lot more effect on us than we ever thought.

Yes, I was unable to do 1 push up with crushing fatigue 5-6 months ago. I now do 150 - 300 daily. I still get waves that are challenging, but they hit no where as hard as they used to.

I notice when I stray away from the nutrition practises of Dr.G I almost instantly get hit with waves or bothersome symptoms. I have been following his program for about 17 months now. It has powered me through this, along with this community, as well as my mindset shift that I will never let WD's win. I've had so much pain going through this and I will not stop till I get the reward of being WD free. I already have the reward of being medication free after being told I would never come off this medication in my life.

Everyday that passes is one day closer to being healed!!!
