These patients are often advised to continue treatment because their difficulties indicate they need ongoing treatment, just as a person with diabetes needs insulin. Please note if you are dealing with antidepressant withdrawal, it's important that the acupuncture be "calming" as opposed to "stimulating". This is because antidepressant withdrawal destabilizes the central nervous system, so stimulating treatments can actually make it worse.
